  1. Asked and answered! http://www.cerb.ca/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=96141 Good work on the TOFTT Boomer. Sounds like a good find. Picks are amazing.
  2. I think in a lot of cases that it is simply their way of trying to start a conversation. They are asking questions that they already know the answers to in order to open the lines of communication. Unfortunately, while there may be some real interest with some of them, there are likely a lot of "tire kickers" and time wasters out there as well. In most cases, you are probably right to politely redirect them to your site for further information. Personally, I always try to find as much info as I can before asking for more details. I've seen enough posts like this over the years to understand that your time is valuable; and that you post this info to avoid such questions. Unfortunately, not all of the guys have the benefit of the things I have learned from this site over the years.
  3. So glad to hear that everything worked out for the first Halifax get together. Sounds like it was a great time. Sorry I missed it. Congrats everyone.
  4. Wow. You learn something new everyday. I didn't know that one either. Thanks for the info. :icon_wink:
  5. Have a great time tonight everyone! I'll be thinking of you!
  6. Nice bit of logic for your first post phantom. Try not to wait another half dozen years before the next one. Great to have your participation. Good to have some wisdom from the point of view of one who has been watching for so long. I'm sure you've seen a lot of issues come and go and have an interesting perspective as a result.
  7. Well said Sophia. I don't think that there is anything personal about the way this was decided, and I don't think any hard feelings were intended by anyone involved. We are simply talking about an informal get together among friends, (virtual or otherwise) in a venue with very limited capacity. We are also talking about people who need discretion, so there is a need for certainty that all those who are attending are people that are trusted and proven members of the community. Trust is built over time. We are dealing with an aspect of our lives where unfortunately, we often have to assume the worst in people until proven otherwise. It sucks but it's necessary. If there were no method of screening at all in place, few would likely want to attend. Be patient. Be active in the community. There will be other events. ;-)
  8. I just want to wish you guys all the best in this event. I too will be unable to attend due to unfortunate timing on a business trip. I will be with you in spirit though. Here's hoping that you all have such a blast that the planning for the next event begins right away! Wild horses won't keep me from the next one! Have fun everyone. And good job to everyone who had a hand in pulling this together. It is long overdue.
  9. Happy belated Porthos. Hope you had a great day.
  10. 6000 posts! When I look at that, I reflect on my modest post count and think to myself....... Wow, that guy sure talks a lot! Just kidding RG. Keep up the good work! Your comments are always appreciated.
  11. Sorry to hear that we are loosing one of our more active east coast members. Although we have never actually met in person, I have always found your posts to be thoughtful, and I usually agree with your perspectives. I hope you continue to take part in the east coast forums as you have certainly earned you place as an "east coaster", if only in spirit and not by geography. Best of luck to you Mister C.
  12. Happy Birthday Tiffany! Hope you enjoy your day!
  13. Is it...er....getting...ehem....warm in here? :icon_redface: Just checking! We'll set that ride up soon!
  14. I've seen your motorcycle pics Lexy and I couldn't agree more! Wow! We don't want to be responsible for any accidents now do we?.... :icon_wink:
  15. Good morning to you too. What a beautiful day. Think I'll dust off the motorbike and go for a spin! Enjoy your day everyone!
  16. Thank you for the nice wishes everyone. Very thoughtful. I'm afraid that I have no extra curricular activities planned for the immediate future WIT, but I will plan my belated celebrations soon! Thanks again everyone! Mikey
  17. From what I understand, Nova Scotia laws are very strict when it comes to the operations of strip clubs. They are constantly under the watchful eye of inspectors for just such activities. I suspect that if any of the dancers there do dabble in this profession on the side, that they are very careful about discussing it there, in the interest of keeping their job. (I may be wrong about that but that was what I was given to understand. I've never actually asked the question ;))
  18. Good distinction Luxie. If we expect you to respect our time with you, then we should not abuse this privilege. If someone chose to book and pay for a 30 min appointment, then they should not even put you in a position of having to point out the time when it has passed. I suspect that this person was well aware of what time it was and was trying to take advantage of your good nature. Respect is a two way street gentlemen.
  19. I don't put a lot of stock in negative reviews, as they are often written by someone with an axe to grind. I do however, give a lot of credit to positive reviews, as someone has actually had such a nice encounter, that they were inspired to take the time to share it. That is what I love about cerb. It only focuses on the positive. And as for the haggling, as I have said before.... ignore it. He isn't worth your time or your concern.
