Wow....even for a (fairly early) Monday afternoon, 4 guys is a very unfortunate situation. Maybe it'll be more active as the week goes on - certainly hope so. I suppose I've been "guilty" (of recent non-attendance) as well but hope to drop in very soon. With Jenny looking "happy and relaxed" and Ariel "spectacular", it's a shame things aren't busier.

In light of some recent discussion in this thread it's good to hear about an evening with a "shocking amount" of attendance. (At least if I am interpreting "shocking" correctly i.e. shockingly crowded - or was the evening's turnout an "abomination"? Hope it was the former.)

This seems to be a relatively recent and unfortunate turn of events at Barb's. At the risk of sounding repetitive, I'm not surprised that a Sunday night was not exactly frantic but your earlier post suggests that it's been quiet even on Friday/Saturday nights. As recently as early 2011, I tended to avoid Fri./Sat. nights as the club could be just too crowded for comfort, at least in my view. Since becoming more of an afternoon clubgoer at Barb's I have found it somewhat quieter this year. On at least a few occasions (and I'm not in even close to weekly) last year, I was forced to find a seat under the TV on Friday afternoons although things would calm down a bit after 2:00-2:30 or so. More recently, I've rarely been denied my fave table and then only when arriving a bit early when the buffet crowd was still around. Last visit was on a Monday afternoon and it was very quiet as expected. Hope to see how things are on a Thurs./Fri. afternoon soon.

Some may find this to be an interesting and informative topic for a thread. Those who believe otherwise perhaps should not feel an especially urgent need to comment. (A more general thread title may have been more useful though.)

I've had this experience in the past and it can be a bit of a drag. Seems to occur when things are a bit subdued and thus I suppose the ladies are chatting with club regulars or acquaintances. Happened to me many years ago with a lady who became a fave......remember it well.....she's at a table with a group.....takes her turn on stage....afterwards makes a beeline back to the table...no one there takes her to CR....this goes on until I have to leave......at the time I just assumed it was a table of her friends or regulars.

Strongly agree with this observation. There are cities where, in order to attend at a club having beauties of the sort quite typical of Barb's dancers, really significant outlays are required just to get seated in the place. Twenty plus dollar cover charges, five dollar mandatory coat check plus a tip for the coat check lady, two or three drink minimum with $10 Cokes and $15 beers ($18 for imported) etc. and so on and so forth. Barb's at its best really is a gem and very much worth supporting.

While I wouldn't typically have especially high expectations for Monday afternoons, perhaps some of us (myself included) have been guilty of avoiding Barb's pending the return of a certain ATF (certainly my ATF in any case) from La Dolce Vita and the transatlantic route. Circumstances permitting, I'll attempt to rally into 340 later this week or early next, irrespective of the expected chances of ATF reappearance. (It strikes me that this may have been a bit of a thread hijack and I apologize for that. I was reacting to average's remarks about the situation at Barb's and my comment perhaps would have been more appropriately placed in the more general Barb's thread, reserving this one for discussion of the lovely Ariel.)

Although my experience in this regard is quite limited, I have certainly found Saturday, Monday and Tuesday afternoons to be fairly subdued. Haven't been in at night for some time but I used to enjoy Sunday nights at Barb's, especially compared to Friday and Saturday evenings when it was easy to find oneself without a table after getting up (for any reason) but perhaps this is no longer typical, even on these traditionally busiest of nights. I've found Thursday and Friday afternoons to be the busiest, although things can quiet down a bit after the lunch/buffet crowd disperses, typically between 1:30 and 2:00. Maybe I'll drop in sometime to see how things are while awaiting an ATF's return from across the pond.

Agree that Barb's is the best. Maybe it was just an unusually quiet Tuesday evening....Sunday to Wednesday nights can be somewhat subdued. I've become more of an afternoon attendee of late but have found it to be almost too busy on Friday/Saturday nights on some occasions in the past.

Very quiet indeed. I've rarely been in on Saturday afternoons this year but last (i.e. 2011) summer I never experienced as few as 4 dancers even on the quietest of Saturday afternoons.

Stopped into 340 Monday (10/1) afternoon and found Barb's a bit quiet, but as I've never been in on a Monday before it strikes me that it might have been typical for that day of the week. There were a few unfamiliar dancers but, as usual, a number I recognized. Jade looked just great on (and off) stage, Ariel was as striking as ever and Jenny captivated the (rather small) crowd in a very tiny and very flattering black bikini during her first turn on stage. Felt I was taking a bit of a chance hoping for a J. sighting on a Monday but, as luck would have it, my gamble was rewarded.

Thanks for the info Cato! Almost dropped in yesterday afternoon (9/15) but in the past faves rarely have been present on Saturday. Any day with Ariel and Jenny in is a very good one indeed.

Wow.....I'm slightly astonished that you'd recognize only one dancer. Makes me wonder if there have been big changes recently.....or maybe it was just one of those days. While I'm not in all that often, I don't think I can recall a visit when so few (only one!) were familiar.

Did not see Mona on Thursday (8/30) afternoon and my inquiries about her schedule did not yield any useful info. Jenny told me she'd be in on Monday. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Ariel was gorgeous, Chrissy was ultra-flexible and a number of others, both known (Claire, as ever) and unknown to me, graced the stage. Jenny was lovely in a very tiny bikini for her second turn on stage and typically resplendent in her unmistakeable and inimitable...how else to phrase it?... .....Jennyness. Also, it strikes me as fitting that the thread-starter Cato has been the poster to initiate the 100th page of this thread.

A quiet Thursday (8/30) at 340. Arrived around 1:30 just in time to see Jenny's first turn on stage and as she's told me she usually dances last in the stage sequence, seeing her on that early is usually an indication that there will not be a particularly large contingent of dancers (on busier days Jenny seems to be on stage in the 2:00-2:30 range). A familiar server was there but there seemed to be yet another new (at least to me) shooter girl. Recognized quite a few of the regulars and the lovely Ariel was looking especially gorgeous. On stage the very tattooed (and extraordinarily flexible) Chrissy was notable. Thanks to those who have posted re sightings - the intel from Alger, Cato, Reddog01 (among others) is always appreciated!

There's certainly something to be said (at least in my view) for attending less often and being "prepared". While a fairly large outlay may seem daunting or indulgent on a single evening/afternoon, my approach is somewhat along these lines. If one is dropping in every week or so (to say nothing of multiple times per week), even a relatively modest number of dances will really add up over the months. On the other hand, a long (or even "epic") session may be justified if one is "indulging" less frequently. My own preference is to agree on a set number for, say, 30 or 45 or 60 minute CR sojourns so the whole issue of "song counting" is dispensed with. This approach will probably work out best with an ATF/regular and I understand that some may prefer variety and the fun of trying new experiences.
