  1. Out of curiosity, did anyone attend the 'Anniversary' (48th?) night at the 'Mate? Apparently there was to be a live band (first time ever(!), as the promo breathlessly indicated). Made me curious regarding how this worked out and wondered where they would put a four-piece (I'm told) band in that place. Surely not on the dancer's stage? Did they perhaps move the pool table and set up in that area? Would seem to be not enough room, not to mention impeding access to the bar on the one hand and the entrance to the dressing rooms/washrooms on the other. I'm guessing they must have cleared the tables/chairs from the slightly elevated seating area and set up the band there. The whole idea struck me as rather odd, but maybe it worked out.
  2. I'm guessing it was a Saturday afternoon being described. I've occasionally seen as few as three dancers at Barb's at that time.
  3. Dropped in to the 'Mate briefly on Friday (5/4) afternoon from about 1400hr to 1510hr or so. Found the atmosphere fairly busy for the first half hour and then a number of patrons (some with safety vests) departed. There were about 12 dancers in the club during this interval - noticed Ashley, Candy, Lana, Adora, Riley, Sarah, Bianca and Mia (I think) among those known to me. Candy spent the entire hour plus while I was present sitting chatting with other dancers (mostly Lana) and communing with her smartphone. To be fair, Lana did circulate a bit, but the usual pattern of (some) dancers keeping to themselves seemed to be in evidence on this occasion. Was disappointed (a bit) that the lovely Delicious was not in attendance. My attention was caught by Mia (I think, don't know her too well) emerging from the CR after a long interlude wearing a very nice pair of super small denim cutoffs. After she walked out, she quite promptly disappeared into the dressing room and, while I tried to be patient waiting a half hour or more, she did not appear to come back onto the floor. Perhaps she left the club and I did not notice. Another visit may be in order for a Mia encounter, if the dancer I was taken by was indeed Mia. There was moderate traffic to the CR during the time I was in (Bianca seemed to be doing quite well) and a few others were observed making multiple visits.
  4. Actually, yes. There was (maybe still is, for all I know) a kilt-clad regular at Barb's with a handlebar moustache. Occasionally saw him and Kilt Boy in the club simultaneously. Somewhat surreal at first, but after a while it just seemed.....normal.
  5. Hate to continue a (partial) thread hijack but it seems Vegas has been away on vacation recently and is now back. Not sure where she'll be.
  6. Not sure if this is still the case - I'm told she got 'banned' by the day manager. But that was a month or so ago, maybe she's back at the 'Mate.
  7. Have any recent visitors to Pigale noticed if a dancer named Vegas has been in the club lately? Medium height, blonde (or blondish), quite heavily inked and with fairly prominent implants, nice round ass and very pretty, I think. Very interested to hear of any Vegas sightings at Pigale.
  8. Remember Cabria from her appearances at the 'Mate - a very well-built and open-minded dancer. Very straightforward when she approached you, but also fun in the CR.
  9. Excellent suggestion, I think. If you enjoyed the 'Blade Runner' movies, Gibson's earlier work will probably appeal. He did switch from the 'near future SF' mode to novels set in the present ('Pattern Recognition'/'Spook Country'/'Zero History'), but his last book is a return to the 'near future' approach. "It was hot, the night we burned Chrome."
  10. Thanks for the report, zbla. Good to know that Adora has been around and Delicious as well. Delicious seems to be in quite regularly lately and usually stays for a fairly long time when she's there. Delicious once told me that she feels dancers need to be "patient" and put in the time in the club in order to do well.
  11. Could it be that this is a strategy to direct more business to the private viewing rooms upstairs at 'Sweet 300' ?
  12. Interesting, zbla. Thanks for the report. The last couple of times I was in and visited the CR (didn't go to CR on my last visit) remember on those occasions the two ladies mentioning that they had concerns about the "manager" but nevertheless recieved the usual mid-to-high-mileage (but not "super high mileage") experience. This was in late January and early February, so I'm not sure how long the "new manager" has been in place.
  13. The info from the other unmoderated board may or may not be reliable but I did receive an e-mail from the dancer in question telling me that she's no longer at the club and that it was a "long story and a sad one". See my PM, blumantru.
  14. A posting on another (unmoderated) board suggests that "management" is trying to "clean up" the PM leading to one of my fave dancers there being dismissed and the post adds the notion that other ladies are on a "watch list" regarding their CR behaviour. Are things changing at the 'Mate?
  15. Who's been your recent fave(s) at the 'Mate in the last several weeks or few months? Since my getting-to-be-ATF is apparently going to be AWOL (at least for the immediate future), I'm wondering who would be recommended for CR visits during the day. My faves have included Delicious and Adora and maybe I should stick with these two beauties, but I'd hate to miss out on any worthwhile experiences.
  16. Any more Ariel sightings? Has Natalie been bartending at 340 in recent weeks? Suppose I should drop in and scope out things for myself, but it's always interesting to read about others' experiences at Barb's. Is it just me, or has the number of posts re SCs diminished somewhat (here and elsewhere) in recent months? Thanks to those who continue to provide reports.
  17. Well.......just to get the thread back on track, I was quite impressed with Zoe onstage when I last attended at the 'Mate. Like you, rocky, I did not get a chance to visit the CR with her and I was hoping that a mention of her would elicit some comments from those who had experienced this. Might stop in Friday or sometime next week hoping for a sighting of the elusive lady who is my current fave at the PM.
  18. Feel more than a bit guilty contributing to a thread hijack, but the idea that the "R& part was added to blues in the new millenium" is a bit hard to swallow. Whatever one thinks of the 'R&B' genre and whatever one's personal tastes may be, it is abundantly obvious that 'R&B' (as the term is generally used) predates the "new millenium", to say the least. Perhaps I'm miscontruing your argument here. As well, it is not all that difficult to distinguish 'blues' (acoustic or electric) from what many will tend to refer to as R&B. On this point, though, there are certainly a number of artists whose work is on the border of the (electric) blues area and R&B and much of this music dates back half a century or more (as noted by 2bigalow2 above). With regard to the 'thread swerve' that got us here, I have to say that I have noticed a wide variety of music at the 'Mate during a few recent visits.
  19. Just lovely, Notch! Gorgeous double cleavage effect!
  20. Just to add to the general aura of mystery.....is either one of them the Sol who used to frequent Barb's?......
  21. Had a very brief visit to the PM on Friday afternoon (2/9) and found things to be fairly busy, a typical Friday afternoon I guess. Did not stay long as Delicious was nice enough to let me know that the dancer I was hoping to see was not present. In addition to Delicious, noticed Candy and Lana but not Ashley (she could have been busy) and several ladies unknown to me. A curvy ebony whose name I did not catch was very attention-getting, a very tall, leggy dancer with very long dark hair was new to me as were a few others. Was especially impressed by Zoe. She was the second dancer who was on stage during my short stay and I thought her stage appearances were great. She has shortish dark hair, shaved (with inked scalp) on one side and with a fair amount of body ink. Terrific slimmer but shapely legs and derriere and extraordinarily flexible.
  22. As has been discussed, it's $5 to visit the CR 'upstairs' - not sure if they are using a 'hand stamp' so you only fork over the five bucks once in the event of multiple CR trips or if the levy is imposed on every visit. Tend to agree that it might be better just to increase the cover. This wouldn't help out during the afternoons, but I'm told the $5 fee doesn't apply before 7:00 anyway. Increasing the cover slightly would also have the effect of getting a little something more out of those who just watch the stage as an evening's entertainment while nursing a single beverage. Sure, it would also affect those who make CR visits, but I'm not sure how to avoid this apart from the somewhat awkward approach of charging everyone an extra $5 cover at the door and then refunding this amount if a CR visit is taken. No doubt this would prove a nuisance but a somewhat more equitable nuisance than the current setup. Charge patrons who don't take ladies to the CR, not those who do.
