Deadline: Halifax, Friday, July 8, 2011. "I was SO horny this afternoon that when I saw Emily, she said "Get Thee Behind Me Satan!" I'll leave it to your imagination to figure out what happened next!! Emily's imagination knows no bounds and next time she is in town we plan to buy enough poutine to fill half the bathtub and eat our way out of the tub. Sounds to me like the icing on the cupcake - or the gravy train. Just a warning cerbites, this is going to be an exclusive dining experience, just for Daddio. Sorry guys." - Show quoted text -

FIFA Women's World Cup - Canada
daddio replied to daddio's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Having seen the replays I have to admit that the second goal wasn't offside and the first goal was more of the defence "ball watching" - i.e. not looking around to see where opponents are - especially looking behind you. Defenders should not face the sidelines where the ball is, they should stand more at an angle so they have better all around vision. But what a player Sinclair is. Wow. A beautiful goal. Canada demonstrated so much grit and determination we should all be proud of our women's soccer team!!!!! Let's get behind them and let them know we are supporting them. -
FIFA Women's World Cup - Canada

Hi Reddog Not a bad first half until Germany's 2nd goal - which I thought was clearly offside. Bad call, or lack of call, by the second official. I thought McLeod came too far off her line for the first goal but she's not very tall and even if she hadn't come off her line she may not have been able to save it as it was just under the bar. But she didn't lose her confidence. I wasn't surprised to hear that Canada had more possession - they are using short passing in the final third to open up the German defence What would have happened if Sinclair had scored??? But that's what soccer is all about. Chapman is playing well in Canada's defence- I would count 2 mistakes she made - when she tackled and the ball came off the German's shins and Chapman was then out of the play. The second ...... oh dear I've forgotten. Damn!! Canada has been creating chances and maybe the defence will tighten up in the second half after the coach gives her half time talk. Sinclair is being at least double, and sometimes treble marked when she gets the ball. Here we go for the second half. Mmmm - sounds like the commentators don't agree that the second goal was offside. Chapman has played well -

thanks for the link reddog It means my work productivity will go downhill for the next few weeks!! lol Additional Comments: Forgot to mention reddog - our team doesn't look like that because our team "has balls" - and kicks them!! -
The 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup is taking place in Germany starting this coming Saturday. Canada is fielding its strongest team ever. We are rated 6th in the world. Women's soccer is shamefully unsupported. I'm hoping that as many cerbites as possible will follow the tournament and Canada's fortunes in particular. Shamefully for me I forgot before starting this thread to find a link to post to make it easy to follow them and post messages of support. Hopefully someone more techno savvy than me can correct that. Canada's women have a tough start. For their first game they play Germany, the reigning world champions, on Saturday in Berlin. I look forward to comments. Yours in women's soccer. Daddio, the Proselytizer.

Does anyone remember 30 years ago this morning...

I was house-sitting for a friend and the news came through on the radio as I was making supper. I was stunned. That anyone could do that to someone who was a messenger for peace and harmony in the world. It marked the end of an era. I remained an optimist, hoping that someone would carry the flame, but it didn't happen. I still "Imagine." -
A Moment....with a sexy Crustacean

Hello Emily: I am so vain I was convinced that your headline was referring to a moment with me!!! ha ha -
From what I glean from the various news sources the flood disaster in Pakistan has had a much greater impact in terms of loss of human life than the Haiti earthquake. And the tragedy has a much greater potential adverse impact on the whole world, economically, in human terms, in security terms. Yet, we Canadians, one of the most generous nations in terms of putting our hands in our pockets and giving generously to the cause of international disasters have seemed to keep our money in our wallets and purses. Surely, in the face of the enormity of this disaster, we can dig into our pockets again and make another contribution. A contribution that will not only assist the millions of homeless but will also assist world security.

I hope I am in the right section to post a recommendation for Cathy. The workings of Cerb still confuse me, Cathy does not. It is quite a while since I enjoyed her company but after reading the most recent posts I felt I should also let the cerb community know what a wonderful woman she is. She wore a very teasing outfit - cleavage and mini-skirt - and we enjoyed a couple of glasses of wine before she decided the time had come to seduce me. It was a complete GF experience - lots of conversation, which is important to me (and you can talk to her about a whole range of subjects), and she was very attentive to my physical needs. She is very versatile and wants to please you. And after I had exhausted myself she gave me the most wonderful massage. I mean, truly wonderful - as in a sense of wonder. She has been a hidden secret in Halifax and now she seems to have "come out". Guys, she will give you a wonderful GFE. Just remember that, like all the cerb ladies, she deserves our utmost respect.

World Cup Predictions
daddio replied to Kate von Katz's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Holland set the tone for the first half - fouling Spain. It was a big mistake - because they can play better - they were intimidated by Spain's skill. DeJong should have been sent off for his studs into the chest of Alonso. Sneidjer - supposed to be the playmaker for Holland - was hardly in the game. Van Bommel was brutal - as he has been throughout the tournament. Take out the man, don't bother about the ball. Holland's display was a sad reflection of their history - they went for brute force over skill. Spain deservedly won. I was for Spain from before the tournament began. The beautiful game won over cynicism. I'm just sorry that Holland resorted to the tactics they did. The way these guys -
World Cup Predictions

"Well the game sucked, far too much merry-go-round...lol" I disagree - I think the way Spain played was a masterpiece of strategy and tactics. They sucked Germany into dropping way back into defence trying to absorb Spain's forward movement and making Germany chase the ball. That kind of game takes a huge amount of concentration on the part of everyone of Germany's players. In the second half Spain immediately stepped up the tempo and really had Germany on the back foot and it was only a matter of time before the pressure would yield a Spain goal. Sure, Germany created some chances after they had gone a goal down and they played with a much higher tempo with more penetration. If they had played that way from the start, instead of being so defensive, it might have been a different game - but that's where experience and tactics come in.
