  1. International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers Thursday December 17th, 2009, 6:30pm Vancouver Art Gallery, Robson Street Side! Join us as we march with red umbrellas, adopted in 2002 by Venetian sex workers for an anti-violence march, symbolizing resistance against discrimination for sex workers worldwide. We will be raising awareness about violence against sex workers and the organizations that support us by distributing materials amongst holiday shoppers on Robson Street. Fancy dress and festively decorated red umbrellas are definitely encouraged! The march will be followed by a gathering at the Lennox Pub/Restaurant (corner of Robson & Granville). WE HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!!
  2. So in this instance the men are obeying the womens commands and pleasing them to their satisfaction. That seems like female dominance to me. Not to you?
  3. CFNM is more of a 'female dominance' thing, rather than a 'male stripper' thing. To have the men nude puts them in a position of vulnerability and submission. The clothed women can then administer humiliation typed scenarios.
  4. They are lumping brothels and crack houses together to create a bill because it will sway peoples views to be against brothels. They are clearly 2 different things. But with the charter challenge, and so many Canadians supporting pro-decrim of prostitution, this bill will allow the gov't to harass and bust indoor workplaces/brothels.
  5. http://www.cbc.ca/canada/toronto/sto...e-bill963.html The Ontario legislature is debating a private member's bill designed to help shut down crack houses and brothels. The proposed safer communities and neighbourhood act lowers the burden of proof required for the courts to act against drug dealing or running a brothel. Neighbours would be able to give anonymous testimony, and if a judge is persuaded that a property is most likely being used for crime, the occupants could be evicted. A judge would also be able close a property for up to 90 days. "Innocent people are being targeted by those who are engaged in illicit drug trade and ? the sole purpose behind this legislation is to ensure that we protect the vulnerable," said the author of the bill, Liberal Yasir Naqvi. The bill passed second reading in October, and is now being considered by a legislative committee. Cheri DiNovo, the NDP member for Toronto's Parkdale-High Park riding, is vowing to stop the bill, which she says violates tenants' rights and unfairly targets the most vulnerable. 'Criminals don't target rich neighbourhoods' But Naqvi, who represents the Ottawa Centre riding, disagrees, saying the bill protects the disadvantaged. "Criminals don't target rich neighbourhoods, they operate in poor neighbourhoods, and those poor people also have the right to live in a safe and healthy community and that's what this legislation is trying to do," he said. Patricia Gora lives on a street with a reputed crack house in DiNovo's Parkdale riding. "If there's a supposed crack house here and those people are found and they're thrown out of their homes, well, where will they go next?" she said. Else-Marie Knudsen, a spokeswoman for the John Howard Society of Toronto, a group that advocates for the rights of those in trouble with the law, dismisses the bill as being ineffective at preventing crime. "The crime is simply displaced. It moves on to another street, another neighbourhood, another community, for someone else to deal with," she said. Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta already have similar laws. Supporters of the bill in Manitoba have credited it with cleaning up parts of Winnipeg.
  6. I just turned my hair red this summer!!! But it's black and poppy red. Does it still count?
  7. That guy is a total ying yang. His writing style is so opinionated and slanted. But the positive article rocks! Great photo suzie-q
  8. I had my panties stolen at a stag party. That is the only time as I watch clients the whole time while in My presence. The party setting made it too hard to keep track.
  9. Thanks Susie! Glad it went well. I went to a sex worker variety show in TO, and some one on stage was talking about how all the sex worker org.'s in Vancouver are all buddy buddy, working together and have the coop brothel. I had a chuckle to myself. Then i found a sex worker's essay and they refer to the current coop brothel in Vancouver. I was like...hmmm someone needs an update. It's either the Olympics brothel or the Coop brothel...but apparently it exists and we all are getting along great. Glad you are finding it worthwhile with the Babble stuff. T'was too redundant for me. I posted the same thing 3 times in one thread and said fuck it! I guess it's fun if you want to argue with the abolishinists. I was hoping there would be some good points made at the forum, go Rave! Glad you stood in for Annie. Sounds like all is good in the hood. I shall make my way back in Dec. cheers
  10. I think it is quite common for adult entertainers to cross over into different industries. Exotic dancers, Web cam models, Pro-Dommes, Escorts, Adult film performers... many people spend time jumping in-and-out of a variety of the different industries. I myself have done, porn, web cam, and Pro-Domme work. I have performed in fetish films with other women who do exotic dance, and have done Pro-Domme work with escorts. It's a big mish-mosh of talents! But, if someone gets really famous in porn, they may not escort because it can be more dangerous as far as health and safety issues go. And if they are rich enough, they aren't going to need the money.
  11. VANCOUVER: Ever wondered why men buy sex? Ever wondered what sex workers think about men who buy sex? FIRST?s latest public forum, ?Sex Workers, Clients and the Law,? scheduled for November 23rd, promises to answer those questions, and more. ?Our forum focuses on the men who buy sex, the experiences of sex workers with their clients, and makes clear why criminalizing sex workers or their clients will only make things worse for sex workers,? said forum moderator Scarlett Lake, a madam who has been involved in the sex work industry for over 20 years. Chris Atchison, Simon Fraser University criminologist, will lead off the FIRST forum reporting on his ?Johns' Voice? study. With almost 1000 respondents, it represents the largest study of Canadian sex buyers ever completed. ?The study opens what has been a tightly closed door?, said Atchison. ?Men reveal their experiences in the sex industry: they talk openly about their attitudes and beliefs.? Atchison?s research reveals that the nature and scope of 'violence' perpetrated by sex buyers against sex workers appears to have been over-stated. ?The vast majority of sex buyers who participated in my research indicated that they have not, and would not, resolve conflicts with sex workers by resorting to violence,? he said. Former sex worker, Jody Salerno, speaks on how her family and the child welfare system -- what could be considered our society?s decriminalized systems of care for children and youth -- failed her, while the men she sold sex to always honored their agreements. ?The men who paid me, asked permission to spend time with me and negotiated with me,? Salerno said. They asked for and received my consent. They were respectful and honored their agreements. These men were not the criminals.? Sponsored by FIRST, the ?Sex Workers, Clients and the Law,? public forum will be held on Monday, November 23, from 7 ? 9 p.m at the Central Branch: Vancouver Public Library, 350 West Georgia Street. FIRST Contacts: Tamara O?Doherty: 778.772.2998 Esther Shannon: 604-254--9963 FIRST is a national coalition of feminists that advocates for the complete decriminalization of sex work, for both sex workers and clients. We argue that Canada?s prostitution robs sex workers of their livelihood and prevents them from creating safe and empowering working conditions. www.firstadvocates.org
  12. I love my boots, and I can't have enough pairs! Thigh highs, leather, PVC... And I really love it....when a man licks my booties from bottom to top!
  13. I like keeping myself shaved. The hair is too sparse to make a decent landing strip, and I wear a lot of PVC and tight clothing where, if I had bush everyone could see it. I'm a baldy!
  14. We should have a XXX-mas party for everyone! I am from the West Coast, and if any SP's want to plan a party let Me know. I have planned a strip-a-thon before for the Naked Truth in BC. I would need a team though if we want it to be really awesome.:bddog:
