  1. It was the summer between grades 6 & 7, I was 12 years old, and the year was 1997. I went to the library to pick out some books to read and went into the "young adult" section. I read a book about a 16-year-old girl whose parents were divorced and lived in different states. She really didn't want to live with either, so she told them both she was living with the other and set out to face the world on her own. She got a fake ID and worked as a stripper to pay the bills. The book was all about her underage stripping, the adventures, the clients, the money, the challenges, etc. The author also used the word "fuck" a lot in the book which shocked my 12-year-old mind LOL. As young as I was, after reading this book I decided I wanted to be a stripper. For the life of me, I can't remember the name of this book. It had such an impact on my life, I would like to read it again. If I recall correctly, the book was white with a picasso-like woman on the cover, and I believe the title was one word, something like "frozen" or "stripped" but I could be wrong. It's been a long time. Can anybody help me out? I've tried searching "stripping fiction" and stuff like that, but no luck.
  2. This place seems to be getting good reviews: http://www.cerb.ca/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=50469
  3. I have a particular talent (I won't post here for privacy reasons). One day as a teenager, I expressed to my peers how much I hated school and life in general (you know those teenage years LOL). Another girl said to me: How can you be unhappy when you can.....? I would do anything to be able to ....... and I would be so happy. She completely changed my way of thinking and instead of focussing on the things I hated (school, curfews, rules, etc.) I started focussing on the things I enjoyed and the things I am talented at. I'm still actively pursuing this talent to date and I truly appreciate what I have, in part thanks to her. I'm sorry it doesn't make much sense without posting the "gift," but I don't want people in my "real life" to figure out who I am :(
  4. I've only heard it within the industry and I personally don't like the term. I prefer to be referred to as thin or slender.
  5. Next year I'd like to do the 10km :o) Posted via Mobile Device
  6. 35 minutes! I'm all hot and sweaty. Who wants a massage? (Just kidding, hehe). Time to shower and eat! :) How did everyone else do?
  7. Just a guess, but maybe she's back to dancing?
  8. Is anyone else participating in race weekend today and tomorrow in Ottawa? I will be running the 5k!
  9. If tipping is mandatory, that is called raising your rates.
  10. Unlikely we would have anyone on CERB like that? I'm sorry SA, but that's extremely naive. CERB is open for anyone to join and there are numerous disrespectful and even dangerous clients that are on CERB. Posted via Mobile Device
  11. Advertising 7-day availability doesn't mean we work 7 days a week. I myself advertise pretty much every day, but I always take days off. For example, I will advertise Thur/Fri/Sat/Sun and then when I have appointments booked for 3 days, I take the 4th day off, whichever day it may be. I have also often advertised availability in the morning/afternoon/evening, but I will never work all three. For example, if someone books me in the morning, then I will not see anyone in the evening. If someone books me in the evening, I will not see anyone in the morning.
  12. Really? I'm often like that I only see 6-7 clients per week. My schedule is tight due to having 2 other jobs, political activism, friends, a family, my own hobbies, etc.
  13. I just say when I'm available. It's not really his concern what's going on in between. I could be seeing another guy, meeting a friend for lunch, etc. Posted via Mobile Device
  14. My theory about the blonde thing is that it represents two things that are deemed superior in our culture - White (race) & Youth. Only Caucasian/white people have blonde hair, and blonde is associated with youth since most blondes hair darkens as they age. Now before anyone jumps on me, I'm NOT racist, but I recognize that we live in a society that privileges whiteness.
  15. Nightflight, I understand some of the feelings that you may feel after being robbed and betrayed like that. I imagine you would feel very violated and somewhat humiliated too. That being said, I don't think there is anything to be gained from confronting her. I knew the dancers like these, and they think it's funny to rip off men and since 99% of men who go to Barbarella's will never read this section, I doubt she could care less. It is unlikely you will get an apology from her or any kind of emotional reaction. I don't think you will feel better after confronting her, in fact you might feel worse. She knows exactly what she did and if doing it didn't make her feel bad, talking to you certainly won't either. You did your part by reporting it here, and as difficult as it may be, I would suggest considering this incident to be a learning experience and moving on. Megan
  16. I'd give up the occasional free drink to stop the unwanted attention/comments/harrassment from being an attractive woman in public. But to stay on topic, I hitchhiked during the bus strike of 2008 and it didn't take more than 30 seconds to get a ride. But then again, I doubt it had anything to do with being attractive because I was wearing a huge winter coat, hat, gloves, scarf, etc. I think it was just because I was female and the people who picked me up deemed me to not be a threat.
  17. I normally try and respond within 12-24 hours, but like the rest of you I do take time off :)
  18. I personally prefer not to get another man's scent on me. Although I shower completely between sessions, I can't always wash my hair, etc. Not sure if you guys would like me smelling like a man LOL.
  19. My understanding was that in the Hintonburg case, it wasn't just massages going on. I should have clarified that in my first post. Yes, I do believe that a massage parlour that offers blow jobs + intercourse could be a reasonable target for bawdy house charges. As for Gatineau, this goes along with my first post. I said that hand jobs could be considered bawdy house but *Ottawa* treats it as a by-law issue. This is not necessarily the case in other cities, which includes the Quebec side. It's a different police force altogether.
  20. No amount of counselling will fix things if you are unwilling to change. Sounds like you should back it up and leave.
  21. Not sure, but I'm one of them. It really sucks but I'll be on the bus and it will trigger a sneeze attacks, and sometimes my asthma will start up. Not fun!!
  22. I use non-scented massage lotion and we take a shower together to get it off. Just ask the lady you are looking to see what product she uses and if a shower is available.
  23. I believe the child sexual abuse in the Catholic church was a systemic issue, not simply a few bad apples.
  24. Well the Catholic church certainly offended me last week with their 'March for Life' against women's reproductive rights. But I still support their right to freedom of speech and freedom of expression. I also don't think that 'offending others' is a good enough reason not to do something. Many would consider just the fact that we post semi-nude photos to be offensive to their religious views and God-given sexuality.
  25. I just learned that Bridgette Dances is a woman I know, and yes she is awesomely fantabulous!
