  1. I've touched on this topic before in my "sex work is work" thread. Is it a business relationship? Yes. Does that mean it must be a cold-transaction with no connection whatsoever? Think of the business relationship a woman may have with her monthly hairdresser. Is it a business transaction? Yes! Does that mean it must be a cold relationship with no friendship whatsoever? Of course not! I have some regular clients going back to my early massage days and even my dancing days. How is it possible for me to see someone regularly for a period of many months and years and not form some kind of attachment? I have had friendships and business relationships with many people, not just in this line of work.
  2. If you're having difficulty in trusting people and it's affecting people, you should find a good counsellor/therapist. I know many people, especially men, see this as a weakness, but I think it takes strength to recognize when you need help and ask for it. Best of luck!
  3. Sounds like a great idea, Sara, and lots of fun!!!

  5. I believe the term GFE was originally used by women who wished to distinguish themselves from the women who offered detached/mechanical service, and instead offered the care & intimacy you could expect from a girlfriend. It seems these days it's often used to describe services (bbbj, fs) rather than the intimacy it was originally meant to convey. I believe women who are advertising as "true GFE" are using the term to describe the original GFE exeperience, not merely a service. I could be wrong as I haven't been around these scene for too long, but that is my understanding.
  6. Keep in mind that some ladies will only visit more "upscale" hotels, so check with the lady first to make sure she's willing to visit.
  7. If you add a link to CERB on your site and then PM the mod, you can post your site here no problem!
  8. Mine is Feb 1st. I change my age at the beginning of February (a couple months off hehe)
  9. When I was a dancer, there was a lot of competition and people thought they "owned" customers. Once, a gentleman asked me for a lapdance, and I obligued. We stayed for 5 songs in the champagne room. Then when I was in the dressing room, his regular dancer asked me: "Did you know he's my customer? I need my money! How much did he spend on you? He better have enough left for me!" I was also horrified. I find the attitude that we "own" customers and their wallet highly offensive! I've also had several gents decline to give a reference because they don't want their regular lady to know he's seeing a new lady. I've also had a handful of gents tell me: "Please don't tell *** I saw you because I don't want her to get upset." It is completely unreasonable for a lady to expect sexual and "financial" monogamy. My question to the gents is: "If your regular lady is so controlling that you can't see other women, why do you see her??"
  10. Thank you so much for all the warm wishes! My birthday was a few months back, so I'll consider this thread a "half" birthday hehehe :)
  11. I put my real age, my real measurements, my real height & weight. I don't see any reason to hide anything. What I do hide is my birthday. Consequently, I guess I lie about my age by a few months but I don't think that's a big deal. A birthdate could easily identify me. It was pretty sad though because I didn't get a "Happy Birthday Megan!" thread on CERB lol ;)
  12. Maybe if it were swing dancing LOL. Posted via Mobile Device
  13. The "BIG" places have their own site. CERB is more for the smaller places, and Ottawa is the biggest of the small.
  14. RoamingGuy - I get information on bad dates from the SP only section. If a lady is asking me for a reference, in all likelihood she has access (or I can help her get access). I believe in full disclosure and to let the lady decide for herself. I would tell her about my good experience, and encourage her check him out on the bad date list.
  15. If you had said "women in Canada have it better than some third world countries" I would have agreed with you. But you didn't. You said that women in Canada have a choice. This is simply not always the case.
  16. Do you have a source for this? I recall reading this case, and my understanding of the conclusion was that women could be required to go to an interview, but to force a woman to engage in sex work would be a violation of her bodily integrity.
  17. The girls have choices? It would seem to me that you are ignorant (I don't mean this pejoratively) of social services in Canada and the situations faced by many women. A single woman on welfare with a child would receive about $12,000 annually. Do you think it's possible to support yourself and a child on that amount? Do you realize that the waiting list for social housing in Ottawa is about 4 years? Also, did you know that if a woman is arrested for prostitution in Ottawa she is "red-zoned" which means she can't enter the entire broad area where she committed the offense? This results in: -Losing social housing or any housing she may have. -Not be allowed to access food banks. -Not being able to access community services. -Not being allowed to see her counsellor or social worker. -Not being able to access methadone clinics or other harm reduction initiatives. Many women also face barriers seeking these services including language barriers, cultural barriers, transportation barriers, etc. It would seem many privileged people are blissfully ignorant of what is going on in our own backyward, and I say this as someone who was raised upper-middle class.
  18. You got that right! ;) Land of plenty for whom? Not everyone equally, that's for sure. Ever looked to see how much a single woman with children on welfare gets? There are many opportunities in Canada, but these are not equal opportunities.
  19. Getting turned on by the misery of others is not something I will judge you for. I believe we have little control over our sexual fetishes. But I will judge an individual for actively participating in the misery of others. I think maybe the bigger faux-pas was anally raping the woman he paid, if that's what indeed happened. This is crude and inaccurate. Do you really think that there aren't women right here in Ottawa participating in the sex trade as a desperate means of survival? Do you think there aren't women in other countries who use sex work as a means of acquiring wealth? That was a huge generalization!
  20. I identify as feminist and I love feminists. Feminism is most certainly relevant (don't make me pull out of a bunch of statistics). It is my experience that 3rd wave feminists fully embrace sex work, whereas the older 2nd wave feminists do not. The root of the stigma I face as a sex worker is sexism, so why wouldn't I be feminist? To me, being a feminist is rejecting patriarchy (a system that privileges men) and accepting men and women are equal.
  21. Well if they are lying in a drastic way about her age, that is bait and switch. Posted via Mobile Device
  22. I think it's also important to consider that the person who posted the warning only has 1 post on CERB.
