My first instinct is to say that this confirms that, although we intuitively think that the men and women involved in this scene have sex-work-positive & liberal politics, this is very often not the case. I don't think there is anything beneficial to coming up with a definition of a "virgin" and I don't place any value on "virginity." There are great things about being sexually inexperienced, and great things about being sexually experienced. When I was 15, I had my first kiss. In my mind, it was the most magical experience ever and I was swept off my feet. In insight, I now know he was a horrible kisser! Hey Gents, My opinion is that the majority of women in this industry choose to enter the profession of their own free will. That being said, we also know that there is a dark side of this industry in which women are coerced to work, and in which they may be economically exploited by a "pimp" who keeps the money she earns. Although I hardly ever encounter these situations with escorts/MA's, I got to know many women when I was stripping who were coerced into the industry. I won't go into all the details, but I will give one example. I was in the dressing room and another dancer was on the phone. She said on the phone: "Please can I leave? I've been here for 6 hours and I've only made $200. I really don't think I can make anymore. The club is dead." She hung up and said to her friend: "He says I can't leave until I make $300." I'm not saying these things to make anyone feel bad, or because the majority of strippers are in this situation (that is absolutely not true). But what I will ask is, what do you as a hobbiest do to mitigate the risk that you are participating in the exploitation of another human being? Do you only see reputable indies/agencies? Do you think you can "tell" when you meet her? Have you ever been in a situation where you suspected the lady was not there by her own free will? I hope no one is upset at me for bringing up such a dark topic, but I think it's important to talk about these things once in a while :) Megan

Me too!!! I generally shower with my clients after the lapdance, and before the massage. Because of my location downtown, many gents walk to my place. I once had a gent show up having walked 30 minutes from his home in the Glebe on one of the hottest days this past summer. Sweat was running down his face and his shirt was so soaked, I didn't want him sitting on my chair. When I asked him to shower right away, he replied: "But I showered just before I came here 30 minutes ago!!!" It took a little coaxing but I got him in the shower.

That being said, it's always best to confirm with the lady in question exactly what she offers and does not offer. There are two fee systems with massage. One is all inclusive. The rate will be roughly 150-180/hour. You will likely be expected to pay the rate upfront and you should not expect negotiations or requests for extra money throughout the encounter. This is the system that I use and I prefer it because I find negotiating money during an encounter really breaks the mood. The other system is the "door fee + tips" system. The door fee generally about $60/hour goes to the parlour/club, and then you "tip" the massage provider, generally based on what services you want. For example, one spa I applied to work at (but never did) charged $40 for a clothed release, $60 for a topless release, $80 for a nude release, and $100 for a nude release with body slides. The tip could also be one set amount for her time. It's very important that if you go to a door fee + tip place that you tip appropriately, because the woman giving you a massage is probably expecting to be paid by you directly, and not the club/parlour. These are just some very general guidelines. When you pick which independent provider or establishment you would like to visit, you should clarify with them directly exactly how fees work.
