  1. This is a very important point. I had a new client recently visit me. He buzzed me up, got my apartment number, and then took off. I understand some people run into problems, but he could have called. Now I'm left wondering why he would bother answering my screening questions, booking me, showing up, just to take off? Things happen, but a call or email to put my mind at ease would have been appreciated.
  2. I believe this was a rhetorical question, but I'd like to take a stab at answering it anyways! I believe it ultimately comes down to sexism. A "good" woman in a sexist view is one who is controlled (particularly sexually) by a man. She is chaste until marriage when her father "gives" her to her husband, and she is faithful to him. Sex workers are in control of their sexuality and often very powerful women. This is scary to a society that wants women, and women's sexuality, kept under control. I can say with absolute certainly that many men in the "dating" world are intimidated by me. They are intimidated by my fierce independence, overt sexuality, and that I make more money than they do. I could give this up and be a chaste woman who stays at home to make babies and be supported financially by her husband.... but I like being a sex worker better :)
  3. When I was a stripper, there were always women in the dressing room complaining about not making enough money. Every single shift has a reason to be bad: Nice weather, bad weather, sports game, long weekend, you name it, there was a reason she wasn't making money and it certainly had nothing to do with her! I never participated in these discussions, and instead decided to take responsibility for my own income rather than handing it off to events over which I have no control. I've always kept a positive attitude, and I was a top earner at the strip club. I kept this attitude when I went into massage, and business has been great, if not overwhelming. I could flatter myself and say it's my looks/service, but ultimately I think it comes down to my attitude.
  4. I wanted to share a story about why differently abled clients hold a special place in my heart (I know it sounds cheesy but it's true). When I was 15 or 16, I held the default opinion that prostitution was immoral. Women were immoral for engaging in it and men were sick for using women for their sick pleasure. One day, I was reading "Dear Abby". A man wrote in and this was his story summarized: Dear Abby, I'm a man in my 30s with a disability that has me confined to a wheelchair. I have never had sex or experienced intimacy with a woman. My best friend hired an escort for me and I had sex for the first time. My parents who are very religious found out and they are threatening to kick me out of the house. Due to my disability, I'm dependent on them. Please advise. It was that moment that I thought "Hey, maybe prostitution isn't so bad after all." I'm so thankful for that letter because it got me thinking critically about sex work for the first time. Obviously my opinion has changed dramatically in the last 10 years.
  5. I wanted to add my favourite tip ever! A client and I were discussing what we were reading in an email prior to meeting. When he showed up, he brought me the sequel as a gift!
  6. WrinkledInTime - I wasn't insulted by any means. Just amused by the thought of "None of the Above" winning. It's good to laugh sometimes and not take everything seriously (although I tend to be the one who takes things seriously) :)
  7. And the winner is........... None of the Above
  8. That's hilarious! I'm picturing it now: Bob: I got BBBJ and FS from the stripper I took to the CR. Tim: That's nothing. I got a golder shower and then we did a gangbang.
  9. Tipping is never expected and most don't, but those who do usually tip me an extra $20 or $40. Not sure if that's helpful or not.
  10. I can see the thrill of the chase, but not the selection/choice because the vast majority of dancers will not perform FS in the club. The ones who will usually do it outside of the club and only for regulars.
  11. I don't agree with this. It can happen, but it would be almost impossible to get away with in the Ottawa open concept CRs. Even clubs like Nu Den and Barbarella's have cameras in the CR so even if the bouncer isn't watching, there is the security tape.
  12. My heart is shattered. You mean I don't deserve you as a client? How will I make it in this world? Somebody console me! :butt:
  13. This is unfortunately a big problem that happens more than I care to admit. I even really some dancers bragging about it in the dressing room.
  14. I'm an independent massage provider and here are some main reasons I think clients see me rather than an escort: -Much less risk of STDs through just a hand job. -They're married and want a sexy experience but they don't want to have intercourse with someone other than their wife. -No pressure to "perform". -To be pampered. -Generally more tease and build up involved in a massage. -Rates are cheaper.
  15. If you are seeing a particular lady, I don't think it really matters too much what time you go :)
  16. I found Bare Fax to be pretty crappy on Saturday afternoons. Very few clients, very few dancers, very few stage shows. Whenever I want to work a Saturday afternoon, I head to the Nu Den. This may have changed.
  17. I've been wondering the same thing. I just assumed I was because that is what they call me, although I don't particularly like the term. I prefer to be called "thin" or "slender."
  18. I'm a spinner myself, but I never joined the group because my personal preference is for curvier women.
  19. I used to work Saturdays at 12pm at the Nu Den. My friend is still there. There are usually 2-3 dancers to begin with.
  20. From dancers perspective, I think it could definitely be worth it. The rates are generally much higher than that of an escort. So I understand why the dancer would take his money, but I don't understand completely why the client would give it up.
  21. Even if you could get full service, I don't know why anyone would take the risk. You're going to pay about 3x as much as you would an SP, and have the stress of getting caught, and then risk arrest. Why?? I guess for some people, that is the thrill.
  22. canuckhooker, I see your points, but ultimately I agree with Carrie Moon that this is a very unique business. Literally, what other business can you tell clients to fuck off, be completely unprofessional, pull no shows, bait and switch, and still make a decent living? I personally ignore many PMs and emails asking questions I don't like, and I don't engage in conversation. I'm sure I have lost many potential clients, but I have more than enough wonderful clients that I (and I'm sure most providers) can afford to lose some who rub us the wrong way. To parallel it back to your mainstream example: Why would you spend your time on "client management" with someone who wants to chat and ask a ton of questions and may or may not buy, when you have a line of people at the cash all ready to go and make a purchase?
  23. Call me strict, but I currently don't take same-day bookings from new clients.
