  1. Why are women who do sex work referred to as "girls" and women who don't do sex work referred to as "women." I happen to be both a sex worker and a regular woman.
  2. I'm independent in two businesses (I won't mention the other one here for privacy, but those who have met me know) so I'm familiar with the agency/studio vs. independent aspects in more than just the sex industry. I know for myself that I'm a lot more happy working for MYSELF, keeping all my money, setting my own rules, and running my own business. I also like that I can focus on the client only and his happiness instead of focusing on pleasing the client and the middleman. I also understand there are women who just don't have the time/energy/drive to run a business and doing a little part-time escorting for an agency is the best situation for them and I respect that. Just my thoughts :)
  3. I made a mistake in my first post. I have actually cancelled twice, but I forgot about the second time. I had arranged an appointment with a man who conducted himself like a gentleman throughout our correspondence and in my screening questionnaire. The day before our appointment, he started sending me emails that made me very uncomfortable.... asking me what I was wearing, if I wanted to talk sex over email and demanding to see me immediately. This made me very uncomfortable and I promptly cancelled our appointment. I would hate to feel obligated in a situation like that. Megan
  4. To be frank, cancellations haven't really been a problem with me. I do get cancellations, but they are generally at least 1-3 days in advance. I request people schedule with me in advance, so I understand that it is harder to keep an appointment the earlier it is booked. In my time, I've had 2 "no-shows". One was inconsiderate and rude, the other met me to pay me my full fee. I took half of it. Although I had one bad experience, considering the numbers of clients I've seen, it's really not that bad! I've personally only canceled once due to a medical emergency with one of my pets who ended being put to sleep. It was a very difficult decision for me to make, but I needed to be with my pet and I knew that I could not provide a high level of service under that stress. The client was extremely kind and understanding during this time, and even asked me if there was anything he could do to help with my situation! So in conclusion, I wouldn't be interested in such a system. I hold myself to a high standard in keeping appointments, and I find the majority of men that I see in Ottawa do the same. Megan
  5. Wow, congratulations Jasmin!!!!!!
  6. I know this thread is dated, but I've heard this and other variations so many times it scares me. I say this with my dancing experience. Perhaps the worst I heard was, "He's not abusive. He just has a bad temper." Among others: "He instead a pimp, he just takes care of me and my money." etc, etc, etc.
  7. Well, I think that just his introduction that she does NOT offer the "Sweetest Massage" is pretty derogatory. Bethany, I'm sorry you have to deal with this. You have my support and I'm sure the support of the entire CERB community. Thank you for your honesty in this regard.
  8. Kissing is not the norm for a lapdance in Ottawa, and to be quite frank, I dislike it when women raise the bar. If you are going to kiss in the CR, at least charge extra! :) I recognize clients may not like my answer, but I'm giving it from a dancer/business perspective.
  9. I strongly believe in sex education. Each and every person should know the risks and how to protect themselves. I also strongly believe in the right to make decisions about one's own body which is why I advocate for rights for sex workers. This includes having sex, not having sex, and doing so protected or not. I personally do massage in part because of the much lower risk for STDs/STIs/pregnancy. I am only sexually active with one person. We are monogamous and were tested together. At the same time, I respect the decisions of others to choose when to have sex and whether it be protected or not. My body, my choice, pretty much covers it.
  10. It's gone. Great work, Erin! Who knows how big it would have thrown if we hadn't stopped it.
  11. Wow, thank you for the heads up, Erin! What a scary world we live in!!
  12. I've always thought "when you stop making money" then you're too old.
  13. I will post in advance next time. I'm glad to see interest :D
  14. Funny how people are different like that!! ;)
  15. Dear Ottawa Sex Workers, POWER (Prostitutes of Ottawa-Gatineau Work Educate and Resist) will be holding its first sex worker social. All sectors and genders are welcomed. We can exchange trade secrets, joke about clients (just kidding, guys), and just have fun together! It will be held 5-7pm today in the downtown area. Please PM me for the secret location. For our comfort, you must be an established provider on this board to gain access to this information. You PM will self-destruct (okay, now I'm just being silly). Megan :)
  16. I agree with this... not that I'm discouraging you from having a good time with a SP, however, if you want to learn how to please your girlfriend, the coaching needs to come from her. Women's bodies are not all the same and we respond differently to different things.
  17. It's been said that kissing is more intimate than sex and I'm one person who feels this way.
  18. Like Erin, I've been a student most of my sex worker life. Sometimes those essays would pile up, I'd have lots of bills to pay and little time to work. Did I complain to clients? Absolutely not. I don't understand why some women think it's necessary to create sob stories to make money. I've always been honest, genuine, and fun to be around and this brought in money more than any sob story could. Men don't call up sex workers to hear another whiny story. They call us up to have fun! Sorry this happened to you, and I hope you can stand up for yourself next time. It's a shame.
  19. Sorry to threadjack, but Erin.... that's a HOT new picture!! I miss you. Hope to see you Monday :)
  20. I would like to highly recommend Jayda at CMJ if you're looking for an Asian MP. Sexy, sweet, fun, and genuine!
  21. My post wasn't looking at morals or right or wrong. The original poster wanted to help his friend, and I suggested that his plan could potentially hurt his friend more than help him.
  22. Sounds like this could be a recipe for disaster. If your roommate wants to spend time with a SP, that's one thing. Tricking him is probably not a good idea. How do you think he will feel if this woman is all into him, and sleeps with him, then won't see him again until he pays $$$ ? That could do more harm than good. I'm sure your intentions are good. Why not just tell him the truth and let him decide for himself?
  23. Definitely excitables. AFS sucks in that regard.
