Good luck Bobbi! All the best with whatever you decide! -
Wow! That is genius! Brilliant. Kudos to Jonathan Reed for such an amazing piece of artwork. Again, wow - the genius of this is staggering to me. As disgusted as I am with people and our behaviour in general (including myself sometimes), I'm reminded of just how amazing the human mind is and the incredible things it's capable of. I'm proud to be human again! (for now anyways - lol) Very meaningful message - prophetic delivery. Awesome post Peachka, thanks for sharing! :sm185:

Hey buddy! From one newbie to another "Welcome aboard!"

I guess I've finally reached that point in my life where I "just don't get it". I mean I saw it with my parents... they didn't get the video games, the break dancing, the heavy metal, the long hair... I just don't "get" Facebook. Is it just because I've finally reached that point in my life where I can't keep up with the trends, or is it that Facebook is really, quite ridiculous. I certainly don't understand why everyone needs to share with everyone else whenever they're eating their lunch, or using the washroom via Facebook or Twitter. I DO understand how hate groups like this propagate and spread through mediums like this. I DO NOT understand why we allow something like Facebook to be used so easily for such obviosly evil, hateful things. Shouldn't there be some sort of governance over this stuff? Freedom of speech is one thing... freedom to hurt others is something else - isn't it? I understand that Facebook is not really willing to pull back on the reigns, but at what point can a country's government step in and say "cut it out"? I know, I know, that fine line... China, Iran, etc... but come on, really - we enforce other laws to protect people and don't consider our states too controlling. I'm not suggesting we out and out censor stuff, but can't we force Facebook to spend some of their resources approving these groups before they're made? I don't know, I guess I'm finally "old" like my parents were - I just don't get it.

I hear ya buddy! I agree with you 100% - that is the absolute best feeling on the planet! I'm so glad you got to experience it with Soleil, she seems like a really genuine, sweet, sensitive and caring person (not to mention - she's freakin' HOT!!!) Most of us tend to take it for granted (myself included) that we aren't in Big AL's shoes and have 100% physical mobility... generally we don't think that in a fraction of a second, through something as simple as, for example, a slip and fall, we could lose it all... and maybe not be able to experience all of those things we love so dearly any longer. It's really nice to see that there are people out there not taking these things for granted - especially these VERY lovely ladies we're hearing from in this post. Not only are they able to see past the stigma, but they're making it possible for more people to experience some of life's greatest pleasures, people who, for no really good reason, shouldn't be able to. Hat's off to you ladies! Your beauty far exceeds your photo galleries.:sm185: -
Interesting read WiT... thanks for sharing. That last question is such a great ending for the article!

I don't really understand how television commercials work. I mean, I get it, but I can't personally remember ever buying something because of a television commercial. I don't get a craving for a fast food after seeing a commercial for it. I don't buy a specific type of gum because I saw it on television. I haven't rushed out to Best Buy for the next latest, greatest toy because it was on the tube... I don't get how it can be so effective (it must be effective if they companies continue to spend so much money on it right?) I really dislike most commercials, especially stupid ones (and I disagree that the annoying ones are the most effective... I'll actually mute the television or change the station if it annoys me enough - and I guarantee that I will actually go out of my way to avoid the product if the ad really irritates me... like that freakishly annoying Anthony whoever and dollars for gold... WFT?!? I've an even better idea - dollars for cash!!! just send me your old scrap cash and mail you back a cheque... "I sent them $350 cash and they sent me back a cheque for $275! It was that easy!")... Er, uh... where was I? Oh ya! I really LOVE funny commercials though. I'll come back into the room even to catch some of them (I'm still not aware of their power to make me buy anything, but I do find them awfully entertaining) This one's really cute - the bottled water roller babies - ha ha ha! I love it! Bottled water sucks though, really. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/telegraphtv/5772318/VIDEO-Evian-Roller-Babies-international-version.html (I couldn't find it on YouTube) I guess this video may support megforfun's original post...

Hey Bobbi, sorry to hear about your web site problems... and I'm really sorry about your domain - I just checked for you and it looks as though a "squatter" now owns it and is asking $1300 for it. I wish I could help you with your site, but I'd have to do it in my off-time and couldn't squeeze it in without my SO noticing... As a very experienced, high-end web designer/developer, I can offer you my opinion and advice (remember what they say about free advice though). Here we go: 1. Register your domain name yourself. It's really quite easy, and doing it yourself means you're in full control of it - you'll be responsible for renewing it and won't have to worry about losing it. Now, unless you are willing to pay these jerks $1336 for your domain, you'll have to decide on a new domain name. > Domains by Proxy, Inc. > DomainsByProxy.com > 15111 N. Hayden Rd., Ste 160, PMB 353 > Scottsdale, Arizona 85260 > United States (You can usually find out who owns a domain by going to http://whois.domaintools.com/, and entering the domain name in question). Okay, how to register a domain name: go to godaddy.com (they're pretty darned cheap) follow the instructions, buy your domain (you'll see, it's very easy - if you find it confusing, call them). Make sure that they email address you use for your contact information with the domain registrar (in this case, that would be godaddy) is one that you will use for a long time - this is where you'll be notified of your domain expiring. This company, the registrar, is who will be in charge of your domain name - they are not the same as your web host. This company will hold your domain name on your behalf and point your domain name to wherever your web host is (e.g. when someone types http://www.whatever.com into their browser the registrar will tell the browser to go to "whatever web host" to get the web site associated with the whatever.com domain (there's more to it than that, but this works for my purpose here). A lot of registrars, including godaddy.com, also offer web hosting - but I really dislike the "all of my eggs in one basket" thing... Besides, it's been my experience that web hosting with a place like this will be "user friendly"- that is, they'll try to set everything up so that they average person can go in and get running without any help from a professional. This may seem good, but when you get around to getting the professional he/she often finds that in order to make the hosting "user friendly" a lot of the stuff he/she needs to "tweak" is turned off, or inaccessible. I recommend using a completely different company for web hosting. Anyhow, once you're all done registering your domain you should end up with a username and a password for the account from which you will administer your domain (don't worry, that sounds scarier than it is). Save that username and password somewhere you won't lose it - you'll need it for as long as you own your domain. 2. Find a hosting company. This is the company that will "host" your website - this is where all of the web site files will be stored. When someone types in http://www.whatever.com, your registrat (godaddy.com if you go that route) will tell their browser to go to the hosting company's server and ask for directions - your web host will then point them to the little bit of private space you have there and "voila!", there's your web site. There are lots of web hosting companies out there, for pretty cheap too. I will recommend canadianwebhosting.com only because that's a company I frequently use for clients - they're relatively inexpensive, very reliable, and as a developer I like the access they give to the technical stuff. Whatever host you decide to go with I would recommend making sure that your hosting plan is on a "linux server", supports "php 5", offers unlimited "MySQL databases". After you've set up a hosting account you'll be given a username and password again - keep this information safe, you'll need it in the future. Generally, after your hosting account has been set up they'll email you some information. In this info you should find two sets of numbers: primary DNS, and secondary DNS (they'll look something like this "75.78.181.101" & "75.78.181.102". Keep this email safe (copy and paste the info, or save the actual email somewhere) - you'll need those numbers. Now go to the registrat (say godaddy.com) and log in to your account, go to the domain management section and point your domain to those 2 numbers I mentioned above (primary DNS and seconday DNS). Again, call the company and ask for help if you need it... they'll walk you through it (lots of people do this stuff themselves and don't know how at first - these companies are used to helping you out and want to make it as easy as possible for you so that you continue to do business with them). 3. You may want to do this step before step 2, as this step could take a while and you'll be paying for the web hosting all the while... If you do, DON'T let the developer take care of step 2. for you!!! - that's how you'll end up losing control of your site again. (maybe 1. and 2. sound technical and difficult, but they really aren't, and in both cases you can call the company's for support - they'll hold your hand all the way through if need be. It's very important to handle this stuff yourself though if you don't want to risk losing control of your site.) Find a designer/developer. DO YOUR RESEARCH!!! This is VERY important... if you're serious about a professional site, and don't want to have to deal with a some flake that disappears in two months and leaves you with nothing, don't go for the cheapest-I-work-out-of-my-basement-college-student-type... sometimes you'll get lucky and that'll work out for you, BUT MOSTLY NOT. Go through the designer's portfolio and make sure you like all of his or hers stuff. Check out the previous client (should be a decent sized list with links to all of the sites (so that you can verify they actually did all of them)). DON'T GO WITH FLASH!!! I repeat - DO NOT GO WITH FLASH!!! I develop sites in Flash as well as regular HTML, DHTML etc. If you want to be able to update your site yourself and don't want to end up with "no files" if your developer disappears one day - DO NOT HAVE YOUR SITE DEVELOPED WITH FLASH. The files you work with in Flash are ".fla" files (these are the files in which you add and edit text, pictures, code, functionality etc)... when you're done developing in Flash you "compile" your code in ".swf" files (these are the files that get posted to your web site). These compiled .swf files are not editable. You can't edit these files at all. These files can be decompiled, but not everyone can do that. Save yourself some money and headache and avoid Flash. Also, unless you go with designer/developer who's already developed CMS (content management system) so that you can make updates yourself easily (this will likely be a lot more expensive, even if they don't develop it for you specifically) you won't be able to change anything on the site yourself... and again, if that developer disappears at some point and leaves you without the original .fla files and layered artwork and stuff you're probably out of luck. Have your site designed and developed in HTML, with WELL WRITTEN CSS, using javascript, php and mysql for the backend. If you go this route, all of your files will be stored on your server and can all be edited by you or anyone you choose in the future. There are some really nice freeware high-end javascript and php applications that can add a lot of functionality to your site for free (that is, your developer could use an set up these free scripts without having to charge you for developing them from scratch)... one great one is "slimbox" and "mootools", this a great set up for your photo albums, and you'll be able to update themselves fairly easily after it's all set up. When it's all done, slimbox looks just as slick as some fancy Flash feature, but it's a lot cheaper and any developer can go in a edit it at any time. HTML is also a lot better for SEO. I can't recommend anyone who offers ongoing SEO maintance, but I can suggest that if your site is set up properly the first time (i.e. when you have it developed) you can make it really search engine friendly and probably avoid the need for ongoing SEO. Again you can research this a bit yourself and ask the developer about it up front. Page titles, image tag alt attributes, keywords, meta tags, accessibility attributes... all of these things when done properly from the start will get your site noticed ahead of others. Also, tell you developer up front that when your site is all finished you want the layered photoshop files. Be clear about this at the start and make sure they agree to it. These files will be helpful in the future if changes need to be made. I hope something here helps you... If you have any questions feel free to PM - I can't help with your actual site, but I can certainly answer questions.

Well, after giving myself the entire weekend to ponder the choices, I've managed to reach a decision. Superlift - nice job - you made this a tough one for sure! Great choices - 2 absolutely gorgeous ladies... That picture of Angelica in the cowboy hat almost clinched it for me - holy hotness batman, she is SEXY!!! As tempting as Angelica is though, I have to stay true to my heart... My vote goes for Alicia. What can I say? I'm a sucker for sweet... and IMNSHO Alicia is SWEEEEEET! Has anything like this ever happend to any of you?
omehgosh replied to spaceykca's topic in Ottawa Discussion - Escorts
spaceykca... Hmm... Okay, well, I guess I'll just say it... In my not-so-humble-opinion you should just move on. None of what she's put you through is acceptable. Ya, ya, things comes up sure... blah, blah, blah... whatever. I don't know about everybody else, but in my business when "things-come-up" and I miss appointments and deadlines or start screwing up projects for no professionally acceptable reason I lose clients. You are far too kind spaceykca. I truly believe the world would be a much better place with more people like you in it - BUT it's not, because there aren't... It's very unfair for that lady to treat you like that, but you are being unfair to yourself by letting her do it. Most others out there aren't like you, and you would do well to keep this in mind I think. I'm not suggesting you need to be a jerk, I'm suggesting that you don't allow others to be jerks to you. I think it's really too bad you left her the donation. I hope that if something like this happens to you again you first: DO NOT leave the donation; and second: don't let it go on for so long. You sir, sound like a really good person - I don't believe that you deserve to be treated in this manner. -
