  1. As some of you know I support food bank & recently started involving the gentlemen that visit me inviting them to donate. I have been considering during the Christmas season ask for toys but then perhaps because many organizations focus on that during this season the food bank donations are less ? Please give me your opinion (vote) on which of those two causes you think is needed more in December. Thanks Isabella Gia
  2. Thank you PP & Cato for having mentioned the charity group. I just posted the coming charity events in Ottawa. If anyone has information on other events nationwide and would like to post, it would be appreciated.
  3. I particularly think nobody has the right to stop anyone from doing this. Now, coming to an agreement would be a different story as every situation is different and as RG commented being asked to stop and quitting because you chose to do so for someone knowing is the right thing for you makes a difference IMO. I guess it has/could happen but can only imagine how complicated this would be. However I believe in what they say ... love can be found in the most unimaginable place and when you less expect it.
  4. I agree with you Cato. I guess these people do not realize they discourage the ones that like to contribute and help others. In my particular case I now give it a thought before contacting someone. Not long ago a guy posted asking for places to visit and things to do in a particular city since he was going there for vacation. Having been there I decided to send some information in what I remembered and invited him to PM me back with any questions. Needless to say I never heard back from him. Oh well, I guess some people don't know what common courtesy/gratitude means.
  5. Wow! That is a very complete list Mod posted. Perhaps it can be added to the 'new to this' section as a sticky? I personally have been asked the meaning of some acronyms by new members and did my best to explain but I'm sure my definition was not as clear and accurate as the one in that list so I think i would be very useful for everyone here.
  6. So after a tough week I was feeling kind of frustrated and a little sad today so decided to call home to listen to a friendly voice but my sister picked up and instead of encouragement gave me a lecture ... ugh! Everything changed when she asked if I wanted to talk to mom. I told her what was going on and she told me what I needed to hear so ... How is it moms do to always know what their kids need and how to provide it? Maternal instinct I guess? Whatever it is even though I have my good friends and other important people in my life she is the only one capable of really make me feel better with her words or a hug. Of course we have our disagreements and she does make mistakes but what counts is that she has always been there for me and always forgiven me for when I have failed as a daughter. So you may be wondering why I'm posting this. Well, there's two reasons: - To remind all here who have a great mom to show her appreciation and love. - As a tribute to all the good mothers out there for making such a good job so here goes the super mom logo :)
  7. I can declare myself addicted to them so will not be easy ... I'm talking about food network site :)
  8. So, between yesterday and today I lost my firefox and explorer from my computer. The first one started acting up out of nowhere so I removed it and started using explorer which asked me to install updates, I did and now it crashes the second I try to start it. Any idea anyone what could cause this? In the meantime I'm using safari, seems to work faster, I hope it lasts. The only thing is I can't use colors in my fonts :( Oh looks like I now can ... yay! Additional Comments: Update for the 2 very kind members that contacted me trying to help ... I managed to get my explorer back :)
  9. Apex, Just read your post about your son and the big satisfaction he just gave you and I really felt the need to congratulate you for having such a little angel as a son. Him calling you 'daddy' being such an effort (under the circumstances) only shows how much he loves you. I don't have any kids yet (is one of my biggest dreams) but I can imagine some ppl in your situation not understanding why their kid has to go through so much. I always have thought even though children with special needs have it more difficult than other children there's one thing they will always have, a good soul and that is worth a lot and sadly some lose it along the way so consider yourself blessed for having him in your life and get ready because you will be getting many touching moments like the one you had last week :)
  10. I do not know how that happened, let's not forget this thread was started in the courtesan/escort discussion area and not in the one for recommendations. Maybe that's why his post was published. The original poster sent an apology via PM asking me to delete my post and said he was sorry for his mistake so I will not mention any details of his original post. I am just waiting for Mod's approval to delete my post as I think he forbid this to avoid empty spaces so I chose to ask him before deleting it.
  11. Hmmm ... Normally I try to keep peace and do not share some of my thoughts and instead express them via PM but since Izuto here seems to like to share in public I guess he will not mind me asking him if what he posted earlier was really a mistake. Perhaps I would understand (by no means approve) the negative review as you claim to be more active in another board which rules are different but if one thing is mentioned here on cerb is no negativity is allowed. Now, in my opinion even your positive comments on the other two SP's sort of revealed very private details (goals) that they may have just shared with you not willing to read in a thread so, why is it you thought it was correct to mention them here? I think you should be more respectful to the ladies you meet and if for some reason the encounter is not what you expected, act like the gentleman you may be and keep it to yourself as exposing people here says a lot about you and for what I read in your original post you have plans to meet new ladies well, as Sabrina commented , not a great start at all.
  12. - The idea of what is to come tomorrow and the opportunities I will have to do things better than they were the day before. - To realize how blessed I am to have health and qualities that allow me to accomplish daily goals make me feel motivated to do more. - My parents & siblings, each of them has great and unique qualities that I admire and learn from and try to follow after. - Things I read either in books, the news, the web (yes that includes cerb threads), quotes, etc. - People who have been through real tough times and still smile and feel happy remind me not to make things bigger than they are and to appreciate all I have. - The simpleness children see life with and how they enjoy and admire small things that most adults consider unimportant. - Some songs that either remind me of a special moment or/and make understand and give particular situations a different meaning. - At last but not least love ... to people, to things, to the idea of something, felt by me or by someone else is always an inspiration. I'm sure there's other things that inspire me so there may be a sequel of this post :)
  13. As you and I have previously discussed (in fact that's how we started communicating) I fully understand you as my reason to keep this part of my life private is just like you for respect to my parents. But we are not being dishonest, only keeping stuff to ourselves. To me as Johnsutter mentioned is not easy to bring up something from here when having a conversation since this has become a part of my life but my brain hasn't betrayed me yet :) I know (like most of us) I will not do this forever but I have been so lucky to have met some beautiful people and memories of that will always stay with me so it will always be my secret.
  14. Don't worry Steve focus on your priorities :) I wish things get better for you real soon! xoxo
  15. I recently started the charity group and it continues to amaze me how much some are willing to give to others and how unattached from material things they are, this is the clear example of what I'm talking about, two awesome people who are big enough to do something that nice. I will be posting some links of events and stuff going on in the group's messages as is not allowed here so please check it out if you have the chance. xx
  16. Good evening all, Too tired to type  (long day) so for once I will not say much hehe but I found this charity event and thought I would remind the ones that know of it and inform those who did not and may be interested. Also, I would like to invite those who have not done it to to check out and perhaps join the charity group. xx Isabella Gia
  17. The title of this article says '25 days in his underwear for a good cause' and of course it got my attention. So check it out and since I (and other ladies on CERB) support charities perhaps we can do what this guy did. What you say gentlemen? Would you make a donation? ;) (totally kidding!) but I think is pretty funny though at the same time admirable what this man did.
  18. Tonight is not 'the' night is YOUR night Al. Enjoy it and have a great birthday! ok ignore the .com  xoxo
  19. Thank you Kyra for this information I did read the gift card option and think is a great idea. Sol you are one of these great souls too, awesome to see how much you have helped :)
  20. Jay although your question was directed to the gentlemen here all I want to say is it all resumes to lack of respect, you being new to this should not influence in someone to have this kind of unprofessional behaviour, it that was the case she could just refuse to see you. All clients deserve respect and to be taken serious and I will not say new or regular clients should have a certain priority but one should make sure to do her best in satisfying both for them to have reasons to come back, just like it should be in any other business.
  21. I just checked it out, looks good but Kyra, do you happen to know which institutions they support? Is not mentioned in their website.
  22. Thank you a million times to the ones that have commented here and joined the group. As some have said (Oh wait, I did too ;)) there's many ways to help others and I know some have preferences for particular causes sometimes from personal experiences or from someone you know or simply because is what inspires you so I found another site that actually divides the institutions in different areas. I will do my best to keep adding information in the group's messages so people join the group and as a community let's all contribute with those who need us. xoxo
  23. I needed something to catch your attention but the truth is 'it' is not even close to what you must have imagined when reading the title. But although I will soon announce something very special (hint, hint website), I decided to use my 300 post for something a lot more special than that. During my time as a member of CERB I have noticed many in here have a big heart and like helping others. So I just want to invite everyone here to not forget about those in need and share whatever your possibilities allow you. Let's not forget we can also help with some our time. I am currently supporting food bank with personal donations as well as donations on behalf of the very kind gentlemen who when visiting me bring something from the list but I know there's many other associations in need of our support so I found this website that posts fund-raising and charitable events in Ottawa for those interested the link is I know not everyone in this community is from Ottawa so I created a new group that anyone can join and where we can post updates on institutions or events to support good causes anywhere in Canada. Thank you for your attention and hope that many will participate in this. Hugs :)
