  2. The only time I would pay a lady in advance is if she is reputable and trustworthy. Ladies on CERB that have a board presence helps establish trust before you see them. Sorry but BP doesn't, at least for me, help a lady establish a reputation or develop trust. I would pass on paying in advance in this type of situation if it were me RG
  3. Why is it when other peoples' family/friends come to visit that person they decide to do all their catching up in the hallway instead of going into the person's apartment? The rest of us living on this floor don't need to know about this person's family life RG
  4. For all of us who feel only the deepest love and affection for the way computers have enhanced our lives, read on. At a computer expo a few years back, Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated, "If Ford had kept up with technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving $25 cars that got 1,000 miles to the gallon." In response to Bill's comments, Ford issued a press release stating: If Ford had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving cars with the following characteristics (and I just love this part): 1. For no reason whatsoever, your car would crash.........twice a day. 2.. Every time they repainted the lines in the road, you would have to buy a new car. 3... Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason. You would have to pull to the side of the road, close all of the windows, shut off the car, restart it, and reopen the windows before you could continue. For some reason you would simply accept this. 4.... Occasionally, executing a maneuver such as a left turn would cause your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you would have to reinstall the engine. 5..... Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was reliable, five times as fast and twice as easy to drive - but would run on only five percent of the roads. 6...... The oil, water temperature, and alternator warning lights would all be replaced by a single "This Car Has Performed An Illegal Operation" warning light. 7....... The airbag system would ask,"Are you sure?" before deploying. 8........ Occasionally, for no reason whatsoever, your car would lock you out and refuse to let you in until you simultaneously lifted the door handle, turned the key and grabbed hold of the radio antenna. 9......... Every time a new car was introduced car buyers would have to learn how to drive all over again because none of the controls would operate in the same manner as the old car. 10.......... You'd have to press the "Start" button to turn the engine off. PS - I'd like to add that when all else fails, you could call "customer service" in some foreign country and be instructed in some foreign language how to fix your car yourself! Please share this with your friends who love - but sometimes hate - their computer
  5. Using the search feature on CERB would show there are four pages of threads dealing with STD's/STI's http://www.cerb.ca/vbulletin/search.php?searchid=3905132 Really the only one hundred percent way to be safe from STD's/STI's is abstinence, well just stick to masturbation Everything else, even a condom, is risk reduction, not elimination, so besides practicing safe sex get yourself tested regularly (me once every two months) and remember, your sexual health is your responsibility RG

  9. Why is it the weathermen, 'er weatherpersons seem to always get it wrong On the radio Monday called for a deep freeze this week, well Monday was cool, but Tuesday it was nice out, today +5, mind you rain freezing rain snow combo (if they have that right) tomorrow who knows. Seems to be the only profession where doing it wrong is OK Anyhow a rant as I prepare for my walk to the restaurant to meet my friends for lunch RG
  10. Well I've only been at this for a few years now and it's not getting old for me...yet, although maybe I'm getting old(er) for it LOL It's not too much hassle to prepare for an encounter and at least for me I get far more in return. The day comes that this doesn't feel like an escape, but a chore, then I'll quietly sign off, say good bye to a few special ladies and turn the page on the next chapter of my life. But until then I'm going to continue this lifestyle, it is a positive in my life, with a lot of rewards, it's not a chore. A morning rambling over my second cup of coffee RG
  11. I surprised myself, 17 out of 20...but I must confess, a few lucky guesses in there But learn something new every day RG
  12. I think that is why they have enacted Good Samaritan Laws, to protect people who offer assistance. Unfortunately the vast majority of people just seem wrapped up in their own lives. My two cents RG

  14. Only you know for sure the reason why. Me, I'm guessing it has something to do with being in a new relationship. I know if I was in a new relationship I wouldn't be seeing companions...but that is just me RG

  17. It is sad Meg that the world has come to this. Most ignoring others, just focused on themselves. But while it seems there are a lot of people out there who don't care, remember there are those gems, those very special people out there who do care. And I'll use your thread Meg as a segue to something else. It seems good manners specifically a thank you is now considered self promotion and to be posted in the announcements section. When a lady thanks a city (the discrete way to thank the gentlemen who made a tour successful) that to me just shows good manners and respect. It is not self promotion, IMHO, the tour to that city has already been done. It is a lady showing respect and courtesy to the clients she saw. For me, such a thank you doesn't even apply to me, since I don't even live in any of the cities. A thank you in the general section means it gets seen, but in the announcements section, it will be buried pretty fast, and unless someone is craving thanks, he won't search the announcements looking for a thank you Anyhow, a couple ladies recently still posted a thank you, and even though it didn't apply to me, they saw either that post given a nomination, rep points or thanks. That's the feedback I give good manners The world, both the outside world and the CERB world could benefit from good manner and caring for our fellow ladies and gentlemen Why good manners, something which seems in harmony with CERB policy has now become considered self promotion I don't know. But ladies don't let this discourage you, your manners are noticed Anyhow, a rambling RG
