  2. Very good point and one that also touches close to home. When I went to see dad back in January he expressed to me a regret that he didn't stay closer to both my brother and me when he remarried. He went out east and basically his wife and her kids became his family, and my brother and I saw him once a year, either by visiting him or he visiting us. He saw very little of his (blood) grandson (my nephew) and considered his wife's grandkids his grandkids. Now that he is terminally ill with cancer, he is expressing regrets over not staying close with my brother and me and family on his side of the family and missing seeing his grandson grow up. I certainly didn't say I told you so, I accepted when he left mom and got remarried his choice. But now he has some regrets, but it is too late to do anything about it. RG
  3. After cleaning out my spare room (used to be called the warehouse LOL) and then the apartment corporation put in new windows in my apartment I finished not just vacuuming my carpet, but steam cleaning it too. One last job, move the desk and filing cabinet to the spare room from the kitchen, and the dining table to the kitchen and make the living room/dining room one big living room by flipping the couch around...but that's next weekend RG
  4. I wouldn't. Irrespective of it being a paid encounter, just by having the encounter could lead the guy to believe you are reciprocating his feelings for you and not only is that going to complicate your life, it is stringing the man along which is cruel. Whether you can be platonic friends I don't know. But JMHO, don't become intimate. He could very likely construe any sexual relations as a sign that you have feelings for him too. Don't complicate his life or your life. A rambling RG

  7. This has crossed my mind too. With my father suffering, yes suffering from terminal cancer (stage 3 CLL leukemia, lung cancer and bone cancer) He is in constant pain, and needs to be on pain killers, fluid build up on his lungs which has to be drained every two days...his life is reduced to sitting in a armchair and looking out the window. Actually I thought by now he would have passed away. Has he thought of euthanasia? I don't know for fact if he has, he hasn't discussed it with me. I know if I was in his shoes I certainly would be thinking of it. Assisted suicide should be an option for those who are suffering, the quality of their life going downhill, and never going to improve. Life isn't important, living is. And sometimes, nature or circumstances are cruel, you can be alive but unable to live. We are more humane to animals that are suffering than we are to people Why we can't show the same humanity to people (and sometimes the most humane thing to do is euthanasia) under their worse circumstances I don't know A depressing rambling RG

  12. Well there was me. A lady on LL, back when I tried dating sites, in her profile suggested that if she was just given the money a guy would spend on dinners out he would be guaranteed to take her to bed. BTW no, I didn't contact her Also, twice while on LL Russian brides hijacked my email. One contacted me and said for, I think it was over $10,000 I could send her the money so she could fly to Canada to be my wife. Another said she would fly to Canada to be my wife but her mother and son would be coming too RG
  13. I'm no Bible scholar by any stretch of the imagination, and I would be what you call agnostic. That said, I don't think there is a conflict between this lifestyle and religion. But I'm sure the institutions of religion (Church) would frown on this lifestyle. But going to Church doesn't make one religious, some so called Church going people I have found to be the most intolerant, unforgiving and unreligious people I have met. What is important to me is how people treat one another. I try my best to treat others with respect, and I'm sure God, if he does exist, would like us to treat one another with respect. As for this lifestyle, it provides the companionship which we all need, and because we pay a donation, it allows the lady to pay bills, put food on the table, pay the rent etc. I know lack of companionship is not all it's cracked up to be, loneliness sucks, and I'm sure not being able to pay your bills sucks too. This is a consensual mutually beneficial lifestyle and I certainly see no conflict with religion...but that's coming from an agnostic RG
