You know your old when you remember back to when Bayshore, Lincoln Fields and the Rideau Centre first opened. You also remember that at Ottawa Airport, there was a little air museum in a small building right in front of the terminal. And along the same lines, you boarded a plane by walking out on the tarmac and climbing stairs to get inside the plane. Growing up, I was never really discouraged nor encouraged to "pay for sex" My only advice when it came to sex was words to the effects that if you spend the night with a woman, be prepared to marry her. The reasoning, if you got her pregnant, well unwed mothers were unheard of, in fact single parent families were unheard of. Pretty much though, the so called attitude against prostitution that I heard of is that it is a last resort for guys who have to pay for it. Mind you, I've seen guys who "haven't paid for it" and been involved in relationships/marriages, which when they broke up cost them their homes, savings etc etc etc...which is why I maintain paying for sex is a lot cheaper than sex for free. One thought occurs to me though, I recall not all that long ago, the on-line dating sites were sort of looked down upon. But they have gained acceptance over time. Maybe, and I might just be a cock-eyed optimist here, but maybe escorting will begin to gain the same acceptance (and I use dating sites only for an analogy, I don't consider seeing escorts as dating in the same sense) Now one time, seeing prostitutes was accepted openly, and no one faulted or snickered at a guy who went to the local brothel. That's when I was in Germany with the Forces. Every Friday guys would go into town (Baden-Baden), some to drink, some tried to get into the casino, and some into the brothel. I knew once back from Germany I was going to university, so my bucks were being saved so I didn't go (thinking with my big head at that young an age) But finally, after being talked into it, I decided to go. Alas, there was a private party that night, so it was many many many many years later that I saw my first SP Bottom line, if it is consensual between two or more adults, no coercion/explotation, and no one is geting hurt, what is the big deal. IMHO, as long as this lifestyle is treated for what it is, really dating shouldn't enter in it. But it is, or should be mutually beneficial to both the lady and gentleman, with no strings or complications. I've had many encounters with great ladies, but I'm crystal clear that at the end of the day, for the ladies, this isn't for them a dating site, this is their livelihood. I don't delude myself thinking that she thinks "I'm that special someone" I treat the lady like a gentleman, and to me, part of that is keeping it a no strings attached fun. In some cases fun I'd like to repeat with the lady again. But adding the drama of dating to it, I think would not only complicate it, but take the enjoyment out of it. I've enjoyed the encounters I've had, and am looking forward to future encounters. Yes, friendships can develop. But I like the simplicity of this lifestyle. Well I just recently hit my one year anniversary mark of getting involved with this lifestyle (or hobbying if you prefer) and some reflections. The very first time (which was bad), had one positive. It got me over the hump of seeing ladies. Once I gave the text message with the room number, it was too late to turn back. LOL And because of that first encounter, it made seeing ladies easier. When I decided to see escorts, and give this lifestyle a try, I thought it was merely sex for money. And boy was I wrong. Yes there is a sexual side to it, but it is much more than that. It is companionship, it is the ultimate blind date, and the social/interpersonal interactions are as important as the physical. And yes, it can lead to friendships, or if others are more comfortable with a term, special relationships. I also discovered that unbeknownst to me, I had a, for lack of a better phrase, a bucket list of things to try sexually. I had my first ever erotic massage, something I intend to repeat. When I started in July 2010, it never even crossed my mind And I'm about to have my first duo ever. Something else I never thought of doing, but reading CERB, it became something I want to try. I have one other thing I'm kinda intrigued, yet apprehensive to try. Probably will, but need more time to get comfortable with the idea. Beauty is more than skin deep. Beautiful women come in all shapes sizes and ages. And intelligence (and I don't mean book smarts) is attractive in a woman and heightens an encounter. Well thought processes took over from instinct, and now, if requested, I'm very comfortable being verified. Besides allowing for a lady to ensure as best she can her safety, it leads to a trusting SP/Client relationship. Besides, there is no lady that I see that I'm embarrassed or ashamed if I "got caught", nor worried that she knows my real name. I'm a man seeing a lady, what's wrong with that? Character is most important in this lifestyle. It's more important to be a gentleman than anything else, at least this is what my experience has been. And I approach this as a mutually beneficial activity. The ladies and the gentlemen are on opposite sides of the same coin. And we are all part of the same community. This is not SP's vs Hobbiests. And I hope it doesn't become that way. Thank goodness for CERB, which strives to keep a co-operative atmosphere, compared to other sites.
