If the same comments were made in the schools locker room they too would be subject the review by the school under their code of conduct for students and for that matter the professional licensing bodies. I find it somewhat amazing that people continue to compare apples and oranges just to try and justify their argument... Salmon Rushdie did not suggest the drugging and raping of real people he knew... to draw a comparison between these two topics is ludicrous This is not a free speech issue it a stupidity issue these gentlemen were stupid but the problem they now face is that even stupid people are accountable for their behaviour. For me the answer is pretty clear NO of course not. When I started reading this thread i had to stop and go back could we really be suggesting that it was ok to back out on a booking with a lady because you were disappointed when you saw her face... wow... this must be a joke thread. Most ladies who do not show their face in ads do so to keep themselves safe so walking our simply because her face was not what you had hoped for is not ok. If the lady has misrepresented herself in some way with fake or very old pictures then maybe you have something to complain about. Over the years I have seen a fair number of ladies they all bring something special to the booking so limiting yourself to a yes or no based solely on the person's face is so short sighted it's hard to imagine. Just imagine if the ladies applied the same test to us or charged us more if they did not like your face.... some of us would never get a booking. Was just watching a comedy on TV called "Men at Work"... it's kind of a silly show but in this episode one of the characters is texting for the first time with a woman he went on a date with. The date sent him a mildly suggestive text which ended in a :)... I laughed out loud when one of the other characters explained to him that the "happy face" at the end of a comment is a really a "Conversational Condom" meaning you can say anything in a text and be safe so long as you end it with a "Happy Face". I'm sitting here thinking about how many posts on here end in that Conversational Condom Lolol Btw... there is a sex therapist in the episode and she coined the term "crymax " lol where she unleashes her goddess on the guy causing him to cry as he reaches climax. Well after a bit of public criticism the Dalhousie Dental School reluctantly turned copies of the facebook groups posts to the police who have now reviewed them and indicated that the posts did not constitute criminal behaviour so no charges will be laid. For me personally this leave the issue where it should be an internal issue of student behaviour for the university to deal with and of course a professional licensing issue for the various dental licensing boards. Unfortunately for the gentlemen involved their behaviour has become widely known in the public and now they will have to live with consequences which undoubtedly has included public humiliation and most likely career and education implication. Like you I also have a public work and community profile that would make it problematic for me to be easily identified on here. But the reality is you and I both control the information we show in our profile and almost all of the profiles I have seen on here don't contain enough info to actually identify anyone unless the individual in question has deliberately shared such info. In either case I am not saying that there should not be the ability to have a completely private profile... from my perspective to each their own... what I am saying is that the system should have the flexibility to allow someone to either 1) restrict access to their own public profiles to people who have private profiles if the member does not want to be lurked by someone who does not in fact allow the same access or 2) if someone has a private profile and they access the profile of someone public profile the person's profile that was accessed should have a onetime right to view the private profile of the individual... if i constantly have someone lurking my profile I should not be locked out of theirs. Sorry to hear that this happened to you and your co-worker... it would be terrible to lose your job over an afternoon of recreation. That said I certainly would never recommend that anyone go to a session during work hours or in a company vehicle as the current perception of this industry including the fact that certain activities might make the visit illegal would definitely place you in a very tenuous situation from a labour relations perspective.
