  1. Spent some time with the wonderful Autumn Raine at her new spa location here in St. John's and after a very stressful week it was really good to connect with her.
  2. I kind of think this is one of those questions that is impossible to answer with a yes or a no... Of course technology is good it allows us to save lives (think ICD implanted Cardioverter Defibrillator or all the other amazing medical technology) and improve the quality of our lives but with all good things there is also the possibility of bad. Nuclear Technology can be used to power our city's and but it can also be used to make bombs that kill it's not the science or the technology that is the problem it is the choices we make in how to use that technology.... and frankly that comes down to human nature and contrary to all the daily indications about why I should not I still have a lot of faith in Human Nature... we may not always act as quickly as we should we do seem to ultimately steer ourselves away from destruction..lol or at least we are delaying it. In any case what really is the other option... are we gonna outlaw creative thinking and the invention of new ways of doing things... conclude that the way we do things now is the best and never look for improvements..of course not...it's not possible to stop the power of the human imagination so yes the world will continue to evolve and yep there will be risks. On a lighter note I could just say of course technology is a good thing and provide you with some amazing examples: The cordless Magic Wand - we all remember the dark ages when the cord on the magic wand restricted our activities in bed.. it only reached so far and you could not get that perfect angle unless you stopped and moved... now technology has saved us from that with cordless freedom. The Wee Vibe 4+ - Do you remember when you had to actually be in the same room to physically control the stimulation of a ladies tiddlewink... well with new technology like the Wee Vibe 4+ you can now be in a different room... different building... different city or even a different country and with your cell phone and your finger have your partners tiddlewink all wet with incredible ease in fact... she can be wearing it and at a business meeting when you use technology to reach out and touch her. Internet Porn - I really don't need to say more do I? The bottom line is our lives as Perverts (According to FORMER PM Harper) have been enriched by technology just imagine all the positive nonsex related benefits of technology. By the way love the thread Just my Opinion

  11. Happy Birthday Emily... I hope you have a great day.
  12. Or I guess it would be true to say that Canadian Universities get huge numbers of people College graduates who come to learn something that get them a career... I don't think this is or or be about one form OT education or training being better than another there are individuals in no formal education that succeed in amazing ways and different education and training are best for different careers. Learning either through form education at a University or college or trade apprenticeship programs or other more unique individual learning strategies is what allows you to develop and succeed. Is a for education right or needed by everyone no.... can a formal university education be instrumental in moving your career along yes...... lol but so could being at the right place at the right time. Just my Opinion
  13. Not feeling great today so just home on couch watching the Grammy Awards and checking out all the post here...
  14. I have moved to digital for almost all my music but have kept most of the CD'S, albums, tapes and yes... 8-tracks but that's mainly because I am a pack rat. I guess I have more easily moved to digital for music as for the last year I have subscribed to a music streaming service... you really cannot beat having almost any music available to you at any time. In terms of books I often download books but when I really appreciate a book I usually get the hard copy to keep. Digital is great for convenience but there really is something about that hard copy.
  15. I would agree whole heartily that it is unfortunate when anyone has to work late into their life just to make ends meet and I am fully supportive of public policy that improves public pension plans and income for seniors. That said not everyone over the age of 50 or 55 is working because of financial necessity so do it because they enjoy their career or for social connection reasons.... I am old enough to retire and may choose to leave my existing employment at anytime but I doubt as long as I have good health I will "retire".
  16. Happy Birthday Cato... I hope you have a great day.
  17. In many city's including where I live here in St. John's for the last few years there has been a shortage of individuals willing to work at entry level service jobs and this has resulted in companies like MacDonald's importing workers from other countries. Please don't take my saying this as a negative towards immigrant workers as let's face it we are all immigrants it's really just a question of timing. The Canadian labour market has been short on high skilled employees and many of the entry level service jobs are not seen as acceptable anymore to everyday canadians. In my opinion the reality in Canada will be that we will need to encourage many older workers to stay in the job market or we will need to be way more open to immigration. Bottom line for me is people should choose when they want to retire not governments. Just my Opinion
