I am at retirement age and have worked in senior management in an organization that provides me with an excellent defined benefits indexed pension so the choice to retire from a financial position will not be hard but I believe there is more to it then that. When I entered the employment world after university some 35 years ago it was with a keen interest in doing interesting work that would expand my learning and contribute meaningfully to my community while allowing me to financially secure so I could raise a family... In this regards I have been extremely luck because I have worked with amazing people and been extremely well treated by my employer. I generally still enjoy going to work each day and get great satisfaction from the fact that the work I get to do is meaningful. I guess because I enjoy what I do I don't feel any pressure to retire. In regards to feeling some social imperative to do the right thing and step aside for the next generation... no I don't see that... I do however feel an imperative to use my experience, knowledge and leadership role as a platform to encourage and develop others and I am extremely active in this. I don't think that unemployment in this country is driven up by individuals not retiring when they could or should in fact for the last few years we have had in this country a shortage of well educated workers and should have been using immigration to a greater extent. The drop in the price for oil is of course a medium term hit to our economy but in the longer focus Canada will still have serious gaps in labour availability due to lower birth rates. Bottom line form my perspective is people should be able to work as long as they want too. Just my Opinion

Sharing a table tonight at a children's charity Pancake supper fund raising event with another family that included an adorable little girl who just made me smile.

I hope everyone is a great Valentines weekend with lots of special time with the people you care most about in your life. I lost someone very close to me a number of years ago and miss that person pretty mush every day of my life... holidays, anniversaries and special occasions are always greeted with mixed emotions when you lose someone you love but you do your best to make it still the best you can for the people who are still with you. My wish for everyone on Valentines Day is that you take advantage of the day to tell the people you care about how you feel... they will love to hear it and frankly you never really know when that opportunity will no longer exist. Happy Valentines Day

If I am booking with a lady than the probability is that I have done my homework and confirmed that she is an established and reliable and as such I normally don't have any real concern with providing her with my information including phone number, name, Lyla profile info etc. I have never felt it was necessary to share my profession information or work phone number with a lady. If I have a problem with providing verifiable information that the lady can use in her screening process then maybe I should not be booking. In my experience if you can provide references from other established ladies and you share your profile info from here on Lyla many ladies don't ask for anything more then a phone number and hey communication is kinda important. I would kind of have to agree if someone does not want to share their lyla profile info then there is something not quite right with the situation. Just my Opinion -
In my experience having to share a picture is certainly not something I would consider a part of most regular screening processes and is no something I would be comfortable in doing with someone I have never met. However if that's what the lady feels is necessary for her comfort then I would respect her right to operate as she sees fit. While I don't see this as something I would generally do I did in fact do that with a wonderful lady who I saw regularly for almost two years. Before our initial meeting chatted on an off for several weeks and an she share with me a Number of pictures of herself and a day or so before we met she said she was looking forward to seeing what i looked like and asked if I was willing to share a picture which I did... So I guess in the right position I guess i would lol

I don't think a University Degree ever guaranteed anyone a job... if you are an untrustworthy lazy bum then the degree would not change that. I think what a formal education always did and still does today is get you in the door for the interview it reduced the chance that you would be screened out in the application process. What has changed over the years is that the number of people with formal education has increased dramatically due to the fact that access to education has greatly increased. Forty years ago you generally only got a university education if you came from a financially advantaged family now with student loans and grants and generally much lower tuition rates (ie tuition rates as a % of family income) and the increased availability of scholarships a formal education is possible for many more people. Overall I would still recommend a formal education to anyone regardless of their age.

Since I saw the first post on this thread and resisted posting I have had the feeling I was first on the scene of an impending train wreck... you just knew that the insulting tone of the OP was not gonna be received well... I can accept th OP's explanation that he never intended to insult anyone but he should take the hint apologize and then leave quietly...

Well if I was better endowed I would reply that there is nothing better then having the head of my footlong massaged but lets face it who are we kidding... I would give a lady a foot massage... I know that at some point I want my head to be down there so why not start at the feet and work my way up. Back Massage or Prostate Massage?

Just getting home from the IceCaps hockey game... they beat the Syracuse Crunch (farm club of Tamba Bay Lightning) 4 to 3 in OT. It was pretty good game but very physical... the IceCaps could have used the intimidating presence of NHL Allstar MVP John Scott but he has not yet rejoined the time since the birth of his twin daughters last week. -
Congratulations on your 500 posts NSGUY keep them coming.

Heading home from the office a little early so I can grab supper before heading to the Hockey Game -
I would remove her sight... A well placed blindfold can so heighten her expectation of just what might happen next (and yes I know that's not what you meant) Think about the sound of a vibrator switching on or for the more adventurous the whistling sound of of riding crop as it cuts through the air or the whisping sound of a flogger as it moves through the air immediately before contact... or maybe just the whispering sound of his voice in your ear saying... I think your gonna like this... On that note Riding crop or flogger?

Just got to my seats at the IceCaps game in time for the warm up... IceCaps vs Syracuse Crunch... and as a bonus it's Buddy the Puffin (IceCaps Mascot) Bobble head night and I scored a few for some young guys who will love to get them.. Additional Comments Home from the game... IceCaps won 4 to 0... next game is same opponent tomorrow night. -
Homemade pancakes some with blueberries and some with strawberries and whipped cream... it would not be Shrove Tuesday without them. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shrove_Tuesday In Newfoundland and Cape Breton Island small tokens are frequently cooked in the pancakes. Children take delight in discovering the objects, which are intended to be divinatory. For example, the person who receives a coin will be wealthy; a nail indicates that they will become or marry a carpenter.

Meeting SP at hotel that is near Police Station

If she is an established well reviewed lady on here then I would think you should be fine. -
You are undoubtedly correct about it being easier than catching a rabbit... but there is something to be said for the excitement of the hunt... and while I am by no means a traditional hunter I am not against hunting so long as you eat what you catch... Now as a side note of interest for those who may not know this there are no wild "rabbits" in Newfoundland we do have a relative of the rabbit family on the island the haire. Maybe someday a wild rabbit will make its way to the island and breed here and then who knows what might come out of it.

What's with the $300 +/hr SP's
Ice4fun replied to jaydanger's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
While I have some problems with the way the OP asked his question I think I agree with Phaedrus that some benefit can come out of the dialogue in terms of helping people understand more about what's involved in working in this industry and that there is a lot more to it than just showing up for an hour. Additionally reminding ourselves that regardless of what the rate of compensation is people deserve to be treated with respect for the choices they make for themselves is important. Just my Opinion -
Sp's confirming date and time and then no show.

Where exactly did I say that... you expressed your opinion and I expressed mine... what exactly is wrong with a diverse expression of opinion on on discussion board? Where exactly is the personal attack... if anything your most recent post is a direct attack on me.... my posts have not directly referenced you or quoted you. Yes I referenced a backup plan and indicated that I did not see how that would work... if i have a booking with a lady that is my plan you of course can have any planning that works for you. Readers of our posts can choose for themselves what is appropriate for them. I readily admit it... I have an opinion on lots of topics discussed on here... imagine that a member of a discussion board expressing his opinion... what a concept. But wait a minute you have made 3716 posts on here and I have made 3569 hmmmm seems I am not the only one with an opinion and that to me is a good thing. Where you are wrong is in making the assumption that I somehow want to limit other people's comments when in fact I think we need exactly the opposite... we need more voices expressing THEIR opinion. Just because someone has a different opinion then you does not mean you are wrong it's the way dialogues become informed and new considerations are brought forward. The only limit I would place on that is that we should be respectful in our dialogue.... disagreeing with someone or expressing an opposing opinion is not disrespectful. As for the the actual topic on hand your initial post said this... And frankly I would agree with you on that... it was the main point of my post... things like this happen in the industry and you need to roll with the punches... I would hate to see how personal you would take it if I actually disagreed with you. As in the past I will look forward to your continued expression of your opinion on a variety of topics on this board and I encourage others to do the same it will make this a better place for all of us. Have a great day...
