Wow. I am on my defenestrual cycle too!!! It's a light day but I am always prepared, I tend to keep a pad handy just in case I start to defenestrate a day or two early. You never know when it it's going to happen. I am just so happy that mom told me what to do during defenestration... she and I buy the same brand of pads! Oh, and here's a tip!!! Always have a spare pad or two in case it's a heavy day of defenestration!

Deep thoughts. Facebook asks what I am thinking. Twitter asks me what I am doing. 4square asks me where I am. Conclusion: The internet thinks it's my girlfriend.

When the boss absolutely has to have that urgent paper sent to her by the end of the day, Friday. You stay late and get it sent to her before she leaves. You come in on Monday to discover that she hasn't opened it, and she is on vacation for the next two weeks.

I watched... but CBC (at least in Toronto) and Global had a love for Britcoms.... and I had enjoyed Three's Company when it first came out as "Man About the House" Global also showed Doctor in the House - written by John Cleese and Graham Chapman.. -

I have been thinking... dangerous... yikes! (1) The Shining - I know, I know it was Kubrick and he is a god of cinema. Problem was that it just didn't do it for me. It dragged, the cinematography was dull, and frankly I really didn't like Shelley Duvall as the wife. I think a new one could be truer to the book and there are a bunch of actors that would be more than willing to fill the roles. (2) The Stand - It was a miniseries on TV when it came out, and frankly that just didn't do it justice. It is by far my favourite Stephen King novel and it deserves a treatment that commercial television could not achieve. I would love to see HBO do this over a season. (3) Fantastic Voyage - That film in the 60's where a submarine was shrunken to microscopic proportions (with a medical crew inside) to save the life of a VIP. With all of the special effects so much more realistic today, this would be one of those incredible projects. (4) The Black Hole - Disney's first foray into PG movies, it was actually pretty good... but after 30+ years it's dated. (5) The Warriors - A great "little" film, with a bigger budget and a more talented cast it could have been amazing. -
Movies That Can Only Be Watched Once

I used to be a big fan of the Criterion Collection; it's a collection of groundbreaking independent and international films, plus a few other Hollywood blockbusters. Two titles featured in that collection are definitely on this list, and watching them once was difficult. (1) Sweet Movie - One of the avant garde films of the 70's this joint Canada/France/Germany production was... ummmm... well it was weird, disgusting, shocking and in my opinion rather disjointed. It was uncomfortable to watch. (2) SALO; 120 days of Sodom - This Italian film was in your face. It is about 4 powerful men connected to the Mussolini regime who kidnap 9 young men and 9 young women (children of the opposition) and force them into all sorts of acts of depravity for 4 months. Neither a beautiful film nor an artistic masterpiece, it moves to show the absolute moral corruption that a fascist regime can generate. Definitely not for the faint of heart. -

I saw the sequel "The Happy Hooker goes to Washington" with Joey Heatherton in the role of Xaviera... and I wondered why they never cast her the first time. At 67 now, she is probably contemporary with Xaviera, but at the time she was a far better match to the look. what about Christina Aguilera or Lindsay Lohan in the role? -

Indeed... what the world needs now is Buddy Christ. I think Burt Bacharach wrote that. Dammit I am jacking my own thread!!!! back to business: Classics: Apocalypto - the movie in and of itself was okay, but I really don't think anyone could ever do better job with cinematography. It was just an absolutely gorgeous film - one would do well to use it as a test disc when buying a new BluRay player or big screen TV. The Madness of King George - an amazing ensemble cast and every single role was filled perfectly. We all look at movies from time to time and saysomething like, George Clooney would have been better in that role or I hated Kirsten Dunst as his girlfriend...but this one has not a single flaw in that regard. Dogma - another Kevin Smith classic. See Buddy Christ's opinion above. 12 Angry Men - what can I say? One of those compelling films that you can watch over and over and catch different character nuances on each viewing. The Pianist - Adrien Brody's performance was captivating. That man can act. -
