  1. OoooooooooOOOoooooOOOOoooooh I am sooooo there. Bringing a new member with me... very very exciting!
  2. Hey Boomer... why not just keep a public thread on a social group and bump it when there is something more to share. It may be cumbersome, but if I am looking for details on the next social (for example), I can go to the general discussion board and look for the social thread and see if there is any news.
  3. Stepping back... and as a father of two beautiful daughters, I am damn sure that if they are going out with a guy, I know his name, address, telephone number, the make and model of his car and where he works. Nothing is more important than the safety of my girls. The same applies here. It's simple, you do anything and everything that you can to ensure your own personal safety and the safety of those you love and cherish. Just my two cents... carry on.
  4. Tyrannosaurus Rex Use Small Thumbs LINGO
  5. Hmmmmm... reminds me of a thread we did last year.... I think Meg should wear her Bruins jersey.....
  6. I actually enjoyed the movie... and as I said, the movie helped me through some of the more challenging sections of the book. I find that with a lot of movies though, they may not meet the level of the original writing but they do assist in the visualization of context. The Rebus TV series done on the BBC was far inferior to the original Ian Rankin Inspector Rebus series of books but it gave me Ken Stott as Rebus and that worked... it also gave us the feel of Edinburgh. I find the same thing with the adaptation of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series... the movies were more context, inferior to the books but aided in visualizing the more challenging sections.
  7. hmmmmm... why is it that when your boss is away on vacation, time flies and they are back almost as soon as they left but when friends are away, it seems like an ETERNITY!!!!!!!!! Come home to the land of maple syrup, beavers and people that miss you!!!!!!!!
  8. I found that book so much easier to read after seeing the movie... without it I would have been lost. Umberto Eco is not of the faint of heart, he makes a lot of assumptions (like the fact that I know Latin!)
  9. I Create Really Meaningless Sentences... BUNDY
  10. Don't Underestimate My Manly Yearnings... NEXT '''-> HEHEH
  11. if... you caught every stupid thing your kid did on video...
  12. Pigbag - Papa's got a brand new pigbag.. You don't know it by name... but you do know the tune....
  13. Whenever I encounter something like this, I take a step back and say to myself, "What would Yoda do?" In this case, Yoda would use Jedi mind tricks and make the ex-boss expose himself in public. If you can't work the Jedi mind tricks, just let it go... be the bigger man...
  14. There's a sad sort of clanking From the clock in the hall And the bells in the steeple too. And up in the nursery an absurd little bird Is popping up to say cukoo! Cukoo! Cukoo! Regretfully they tell us But firmly they compel us To say goodbye to you. So long Farewell Aufwiedersehn Goodnight I hate to go and leave this pretty sight So long Farewell Aufwiedersehn Adeiu Adeiu Adeiu To yieu and yieu and yieu So long Farewell Au 'voire Aufwiedersehn I'd like to stay and taste my first champagne So long Farewell Aufwiedersehn Goodbye I leave and heave a sigh and say goodbye Goodbye! I'm glad to go I cannot tell a lie I flit I float I fleetly flee I fly The sun has gone to bed and so must I So long Farewell Aufwiedersehn Goodbye-- Goodbye... Goodbye... Goodbye... Goodbye... Enjoy your next chapter hun!!! xoxo
