  1. A tip is a great way to reward great service... and ensure that future service will be great as well! One of my biggest pet peeves in life is a person that treats "service providers" whether in food service, transportation, delivery or what we have here, as persons beneath them. It makes my skin crawl when Joe Average treats a waitress like dirt, or Jane Average gives a quarter on a taxi tip.... ARRRGHHH. I know that tips generally linger - and when you see a bartender that you have treated well or a waitress that has been well tipped, the likelihood is that they will deal with you faster, more efficiently and the gratuities might even flow both ways. I can't begin to tell you how many freebies I have had over the years at restaurants and bars because I have treated wait staff well! It makes you feel better, it makes them feel better and in the end, that's what life is all about!
  2. No threadjack taken... it's a great point. Bad economies really hurt the industry in a lot of ways. Less spending power by the clientele and "give it a try" providers who have NO idea what it means to do what needs to be done.
  3. Bigger smile. Just thinking of the lovely woman that made me the benefactor of lots of vinyl... :)
  4. Supertramp. On vinyl. On my turntable. At an unacceptable volume level. Bwahahahahaha. LOVE it.
  5. Took advantage of this cool grey day to read a book... and throw some vinyl on the turntable. Dammit, there is NOTHING like listening to old tunes with a few hisses and pops - it sounds silly, but it's the imperfection that makes it perfect.
  6. It has been happening in a LOT of cities. I can only imagine that in Greece and in Spain that the quality established providers are being forced to drop prices just to compete with the influx of young women that can't find employment in any other line of work. "Transient" providers not only drive prices down, but also adversely affect the perception of some newer clients on the expectations of a quality experience.
