  1. Ahhhh... another great time for movies..... Grosse Pointe Blank... can't miss gem!!!! Clerks... not so much for the film itself, but for the genius that it launched. Kevin Smith Rocks! The Big Lebowski... the Coen Brothers masterpiece... Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels ... Guy Ritchie at his FINEST Dogma... Who can argue with Affleck and Damon as fallen angels, Chris Rock as the 13th disciple and Alannis Morissette as God? Night at the Roxbury... it's all been said... a brilliant goofy comedy!

  7. I really believe that there is a generational disconnect that makes us believe that our elders are more pious, more rigid and less forgiving than they actually are. This Saturday, my daughter, my niece and my 80 year old mom were sitting at the dining room table just talking. My brother (my niece's father) and I were sitting in the adjacent room having a beer and shooting the breeze. We were absolutely amazed at the ease at which our girls and our mom were connecting... and on subjects that we probably never would have broached with our own grandfathers or grandmothers. But there they were, giggling, laughing to the point of tears on things that would have made us blush at the same age. My brother and I looked at each other and smiled; we knew that our kids had achieved a level of comfort that we had never attained. You will never know how accepting someone will be unless you push the boundaries; sometimes those boundaries are a lot less concrete than you once thought... ;)
  8. Still frightened by some of the regrettable tattoos.... eeeks!
  9. Sara and I met up the other night; as arranged, I was dressed as a sumo vampire, Sara was dressed as a pirate unicorn. The bowls of pickled beets, lime jello and chicken noodle soup were set in their places; I had carefully mixed a selection of Gregorian chants, Merle Haggard, Tuvan throat singing and Megadeth for our listening pleasure. The strobes were set at a medium pulse. The guinea pigs and hamsters were lined in their cages watching, as if an audience; the sloth was dressed in a grey flannel suit replete with fedora and spats. Bwahahahahahah. Okay... here's the real one.:sm185: Kismet. A word meaning simply fortune or destiny. Something inevitable, but altogether wonderful. To me, that was my time with Sara. To begin, and not to go into any graphic detail, Sara is a beautiful woman not only in her physical appearance but also in her soul. The comfort is instantaneous; the warmth pervasive. Sara has an innate sense of making you feel like you have known her forever, as if you have shared intimacy for an eternity. I can't say enough about our time together but I will leave you with this: there is a paradox with Sara. She leaves you sated and spent but always wanting more... and that's a very good thing.

  13. The film is excellent... so good in fact that it was the recipient of the Academy Award for Best Documentary at the 2005 Oscars and won 13 other best in class awards at other film festivals. For a bit more information, IMDB has a listing http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0388789/
