Halifax Revisited - Meet and Greet
Old Dog replied to mrrnice2's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
For any of our friends down east that are on the fence, this is a GREAT opportunity to meet members of your community!!! I have attended nearly all of the Ottawa socials and have loved every one... the chance to put a face to a name, the chance to meet with prospective clients/providers, the chance to actually talk to others in the same situation... if I didn't have the other obligations I would get on this like a fat kid on a smartie!!!! -

You must understand that this is "active pursuit." It doesn't mean that the FBI will be flying in to Montreal, Vancouver, Toronto or anywhere else - it means that if a suspect is fleeing justice and "runs" the border, US police will be able to pursue that vehicle without having to stop at a customs booth.... and it will go both ways. If the RCMP or OPP or whomever is pursuing a suspect and that suspect crosses the US border, Canadian police will be able to continue to pursue unimpeded by US customs. If you step back and realize that the intent is to stop US criminals from entering Canada and vice versa, it is a lot more palatable. I would rather see them catch a bad guy near the border than have to pay to keep a US criminal in our system for YEARS fighting extradition and using our legal system against us.

Okay... this one is bad and good at the same time. Red Dawn (1984) ... and apparently they are remaking it and releasing it again in November... this time with the North Koreans invading.

Get to Know Me Better - Some Trivia About Me
Old Dog replied to Andee's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I am pet free. Even the thought of cleaning pet poop makes me gag. I have heard the line, "They have curved swords, CURVED SWORDS" way too many times. My bed has way too many frickin' pillows. When boobs stare at my eyes, I stare right back at them. I never understood the logic behind the phrase, "That guy has horseshoes up his ass." It apparently means he is lucky. I am thinking, "Damn, really frickin' unlucky. That must hurt like a bitch." I had two things clipped when I was a baby. One was my tongue. I was angered at the age of 4 when I learned that the numeric sequence "...fifty, sixty, seventy, eighty, ninety..." was not followed by "tenty, eleventy, and twelvety." To me, it just made sense. Louis St Laurent, John Diefenbaker and Lester Pearson all rubbed my head when I was a kid. I can't remember a time in my life when there wasn't at least one jar of Noxzema at my mom's home. I am confident that I never again will beat my record of 48 times in 1 week. I believe that the last 6 times in that stretch, nothing left my body except for dust particles. I have a fear of baby stealing dingoes. -
"Well if (insert name here) jumped off a bridge, would you jump off a bridge too? You are an idiot." My mom, every day of my childhood.
