Your Greatest Albums....

The year was 1976. In retrospect it was a great year for music.... the Eagles released Hotel California, Boston their debut, Rush had 2112, Kiss released Destroyer, Led Zeppelin had the Song Remains the Same, Kansas had Leftoverture, ELO released A New World Record, Frampton came ALIVE, Blue Oyster Cult released Don't Fear the Reaper on their Agents of Fortune Album and the Stones had Black and Blue.... ... but this album was released in September 1976... and charted at NUMBER ONE for 15 straight weeks in Canada and the United States. Stevie Wonder released "Songs in the Key of Life." It was incredible. It was embraced by all, and just kept producing hit after hit. Stevie Wonder Songs in the Key of Life 1. "Love's in Need of Love Today" Stevie Wonder 7:06 2. "Have a Talk with God" Wonder, Calvin Hardaway 2:42 3. "Village Ghetto Land" Wonder, Gary Byrd 3:25 4. "Contusion" Wonder 3:46 5. AC/DC.... Alright. The core of the Young brothers has remained stable but the surrounding players have changed from time to time. When Phil Rudd left the band, Chris Slade was asked to join as the drummer. Chris Slade was a former member of Uriah Heep. Uriah Heep - Rain

"Rumours" was an all time fave by so many.... but it needed this album a year before to set the wheels in motion. The second self titled album, "Fleetwood Mac," was the first to feature a young duo - Stevie Nicks and guitarist Lindsey Buckingham (formerly recording partners themselves) after the departure of Bob Welch. Two essential Fleetwood Mac songs are included on this album - "Landslide" and "Rhiannon"... but the 1975 relaunch of Fleetwood Mac is almost the equal of the more famous "Rumours" Fleetwood Mac Side one No. Title Writer(s) Length 1. "Monday Morning" Buckingham 2:48 2. "Warm Ways" C. McVie 3:54 3. "Blue Letter" Rick Curtis, Mike Curtis 2:41 4. "Rhiannon" Nicks 4:11 5. "Over My Head" C. McVie 3:38 6. "Crystal" Nicks 5:14 Side two No. Title Writer(s) Length 1. "Say You Love Me" C. McVie 4:11 2. "Landslide" Nicks 3:19 3. "World Turning" Buckingham, C. McVie 4:25 4. "Sugar Daddy" C. McVie 4:10 5. "I'm So Afraid" Buckingham 4:22 -

Vanilla ice cream inside hollowed out apples, topped off with brandy caramel Um... just sayin'. Looks pretty good. I mean really good. Probably took ages to carve out those apples perfectly. I mean, what are they, apple surgeons? And what the hell did they use to get the rounded scoop of ice cream inside? I smell a conspiracy. A conspiracy and aliens. I bet that isn't even brandy caramel. I bet it's drug laden alien gravy and the "ice cream" is actually drug laden alien potatoes. That's what I bet. Still, it looks pretty good. I would probably eat it it. I mean I would probably eat it if I didn't suspect the whole drug laden alien stuff. Cuz it does look pretty good. Even with the drug laden alien stuff, I might just take a bite. Just a small bite mind you, not one of those huge bites that you have to dislocate your jaw to make. Okay. Maybe I would try to dislocate my jaw to get the whole drug laden apple surgeon alien apple, potato and gravy in at one time. But I wouldn't like it. Unless the alien drugs were good. Then I would like it a lot. I wonder if alien women are hot???

A little off the beaten track but.... This album was my breakup album. After 15 years of marriage, I decided to pack it in and set off to greener pastures. It had just enough humour, just enough anger, just enough emotion to get me through the rough patches... and frankly, it is still an all time fave. The Offspring - Americana No. Title Writer(s) Length 1. "Welcome" 0:09 2. "Have You Ever" 3:56 3. "Staring at the Sun" 2:13 4. "Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)" 3:08 5. "The Kids Aren't Alright" 3:00 6. "Feelings" (Parody/cover of Morris Albert's 1975 single) Morris Albert and Louis Felix-Marie Gaste, with lyrical parody by Dexter Holland 2:51 7. "She's Got Issues" 3:48 8. "Walla Walla" 2:57 9. "The End of the Line" 2:59 10. "No Brakes" 2:06 11. "Why Don't You Get a Job?" 2:52 12. "Americana" 3:15 13. "Pay the Man" -
I was about to kick back and listen to Def Leppard - Pyromania ... took the album out of the sleeve, slapped it on the turntable and looked.... at the rippled vinyl. In it's past life, this record spent a little time leaning against an old school radiator in the winter.... now, it's just a frisbee.
