  1. Childhood memories. I have found over the course of time that I find comfort in pieces that transport me back to a simpler time - not necessarily simpler times for the world, but simpler times in my life. They don't have to be expensive or hard to find... but they mean something to me. I picked up a GI Joe that looked like the one I had as a kid, a set of glasses that were exactly the same as we drank cold milk from... a coffee cup that looked like the one my father drank from... a Beatles LP on vinyl... Led Zeppelin IV on vinyl... a couple of DVDs of really bad films that captivated me when I was a kid... an old radio like the one that sat on our counter... a pair of rabbit ears (not real ones, an antenna) to sit on an old TV... the piano stool that sat in my grandparents parlor... a couple of old TV guides... essentially anything tactile that can transport me back and make me smile....

  7. Lots of regrets.... but then again some of the regrets are blessings. Wish I hadn't married the ex... but then again, I love my kids to death... and she was a part of that. If I could have had my same kids with anyone else... then for sure my marriage would have been a do over, or rather a do not do with her. I wish I got to know my grandpa better. I loved him to death... he was a great funny man, but in fact, I never took the time when I was mature enough to understand to ask him about HIS life. I wish I had been better at picking up signals when I was younger. The minute people found out I was engaged, three women who I was absolutely gaga over as a kid asked me why I had never asked them out.

  9. Speaking of Cocker.... He of course won his Grammy for his duo with Jennifer Warnes. Jennifer Warnes was best known for duos with everyone, including Bill Medley. Bill Medley was of course the low voice in yet another duo, the Righteous Brothers. The Righteous Brothers biggest hit was "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'" This is their other hit.... Righteous Brothers - Unchained Melody
  10. There's a great one my grandpa used to say: She's so skinny, she'd have to stand twice to make a shadow.
  11. Alright. A short one. Otis Redding was the premier artist for STAX Records in the mid 60's. Atlantic was a pseudo parent company to STAX, and "lent" the label "Sam & Dave" Sam & Dave were the quintessential soul duet, influencing countless acts... specifically: Blues Brothers - Soul Man Soul Man was actually a huge hit for Sam & Dave - but was even larger for the Blues Brothers...
