Hello darkness, my old friend
Reddog01 replied to a topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
It's hard to push negative thoughts away. I try "mindfulness" to focus on something around me. Focus on a part of the body or the environment around you: your core; breathing, the sun. You can try dissecting the negative thought to determine that it is not what we perceive it to be. When I find myself building up anxiety I try to rationalize and put the thought or event in the context of time and focus on the immediate future. This too will pass... -

Canada Savings Bonds (CSB) to be retired?
Reddog01 replied to Reddog01's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
For sure I agree that for less than 1% this is no way to park your money. It was purely for nostalgia reasons that I brought this up at all as CSBs were part of my life back in the day when I could double my investment over a few years. I would be happy to find any investment/stock that I could do this with today! -

If something interests you on BP do some research to corroborate suspicions or pleasantly discover that the SP or MA is real. I tend to use leads through LYLA and other boards (national and international) to help with my decision making. Use web-tools such as tineye or google or consult Cowboy Kenny at: http://www.cowboysdiary.info/

Gee I remember not that long ago that CSBs were a great way to save; especially as forced savings through payroll deductions. Purchases are down 85% since the late 1980s when it only took you 4-7 years to double your investment and it was safe with no risk. For obvious reasons I stopped buying them years ago as the interest rates plummeted. Rates are now about 0.70%..... The government is thinking about retiring the program as it costs about 60 million to administer - not sure why it costs so much. Anyone else use these in the past as an investment? Do you see the benefit of continuing to buy?

Intergenerational Encounters
Reddog01 replied to GoinDown's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I am older -58- and when I decided to try this "lifestyle" some 6-7 years ago I started with well reviewed agencies out of my hometown who seemed to present women mostly between 19 and 24. I guess this was what I thought was the norm for the industry. To be honest I was/am influenced by what our society presents as desirable and perhaps perceives as out of reach to the "normal" man. The images presented in fashion and men's periodicals (Playboy) as I matured likely shaped my own fantasies and perceptions. So over the years I gravitated to SPs who had slick well presented websites that supported these perceptions and who had well established reviews and recommendations from fellow hobbyists I learned to trust. I grew to appreciate fine lingerie and designer heels. When I found someone who I connected with that met my "expectations" I tended to become a "loyal" regular. I now will not consider SPs below the age of 23 and tend to look for late 20s and early 30s. Being twice her age does not bother me if I feel she enjoys my company and I have fun. In the end that is what it is all about. -
Reporting live from Barbs. All I can say is wow. A great night so far. Additional Comments: Nicolle and Stacy on stage with me. What is to come!

Well I am on a roll this week and dropped in again this afternoon around 4:30 pm to see Jenny. Looking good in her black one piece with the shear top. Good chat bar-side and some enjoyable time in the CR. About four or five other dancers in the house including Sarah and Leah.

Stopped by last night (Monday 7-8:30 PM). Only three or four dancers around from what I could tell - Very slow. Christina was making the rounds. Plan to drop by again tonight or Friday (TBC).

Why Post a Recommendation?
Reddog01 replied to someguy's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I always post a recommendation if my experience exceeds expectations and I manage to enter that euphoric zone. I leave with a little bounce in my step and the memory stays with me for some time. Why not share that feeling with others and let them make the choice based on your positive feedback? If the SP or MA made me feel this way they will likely do the same for others. It is also payback to other members of the board who contribute and hopefully helpful to the ladies. I have sought out providers through recos made by others and when they turn out to be positive experiences I find it is fun to follow those contributors as trusted agents if you know what I mean. -
I decided to tune in to the concert last night and I am so glad I did. It was well produced and kudos to CBC and everyone that put it all together as a tribute to to band and to us as Canadians. It was a very poignant and emotional evening for Gord Downie, the band members and his fans especially from his home town of Kingston. I enjoyed Grace, Too; Hundredth Meridian and Boots and Hearts. Godspeed and all the best wishes for his continued Cancer treatment.

Not my intention to revive recent discussion but it was interesting to see the "Barb's Footprint" mentioned in the Ottawa Citizen this morning. An article on page two identified "The property between Queen and Albert Street at Lyon Street where Claridge Homes is building a project with a built in LRT station entrance " as one of 12 potential sites for the new Ottawa central library. LRT access is a prime consideration. Just for info.

Barefax review
Reddog01 replied to cool cucumber's topic in Ottawa Discussion - Stripclubs & Dancers
I am a Barb's guy usually but this afternoon I was in the market area with an hour to kill so I dropped into the Fax for the first time in about two years. I would say about 20 patrons in house with about 8-10 dancers that I could tell from my short stay. There was Francesca (large augmentations) and Foxy who both introduced themselves and Jena and dark haired Tiffany who took to he stage. The only woman that sparked my interest was Anastasia who displayed some spunk and looked rather enticing during her stage routine. However she disappeared after her dances and I didn't get a chance to talk with her. I was a bit disappointed with my hour and a half visit so from my perspective it's back to Barb's for me.....
