I have to admit the "No Blocked Numbers" does throw me a bit, but maybe for other reasons. I understand a blocked number is one the receiver can’t see on caller, display, correct? I guess the idea is to fend off guys who want anonymity or to try and weed out those who are not serious. To be honest I have no idea if my phone has a blocked number or not. How can I tell? When I first started to hobby I used a pay phone or hotel lobby house phone through the operator in an attempt to remain anonymous, especially with a first time SP. Yes I know I gave my real name and hotel room number out,...ultimately hotel records could be consulted, one way or another. I didn’t want my phone number given out because I saw this as some undefined threat to my confidentiality. In addition, I only have a business phone and all the numbers called are on a central record open to my employer, yikes. So for me booking throgh a pm on cerb works best. If confirmation is required by the SP I can reply to an email on hotmail. Does this work?

I tried an in-call once and the atmosphere was a little distracting - on top of thinking about legalities. I think the fact that more than one person lived there, including a SO had a negative effect. After all these encounters have a lot to do with the "mind". IMHO, I prefer an outcall in a 4-5 star hotel ....its almost level playing ground.

Just read in the Ottawa Citizen about the traffic problems getting into the park yesterday "kilometres long". I guess go early. Hopefully the management will come up with some alternatives to speed things up. I have not been but my kids have and they loved it. Something for everyone.

I agree totally with the sentiment of the comments in this thread, especially the references to Russian Roulette. Safe sex is paramount to me as a hobbyist and to the SP, for personal health and for the business. It would be devastating to either person to catch an STD that could be terminal, stay with you for the rest of your life or infect a SO. We only go around once, experience life to the fullest each day, plan for tomorrow but live for today. Play safe. When I ride my bike, I alway say "Don?t ride faster that your Angel can fly".

Ok, point taken. I am a bit reserved, however I admit I have been known to scream some expletives when driving (especially in Ottawa). Sorry to hear about the break-in. I would love to catch those "Assholes" in the act. I hope to make the next CERB social.

Miel, I nominated your post because I agree and support your message and what you said during your rant. However, Miel, the expletives are a bit harsh (YEA RIGHT! FUCK YOU: PAY ME!). Ok, I don’t consider myself a prude, and can swear as much as the best of them, but you can get your message across without the “Fuck You” don’t you think? A wide audience is reading this, and most if not all, certainly don’t condone the actions that you have been exposed too, and can surely sympathize. I hope these actions never happen again. On the other hand, I hope the message you are sending (FUCK YOU: PAY ME!) to a particular person or persons have been received loud and clear. Hope your Canada was great.

Yes it was difficult and expensive to host the summit in Canada?s largest city, but why not....Maybe easy for me to say because I don?t live there, but why should the threat of violence and terrorist attack relegate meetings to the top of a mountain or in the middle of a park. I think it showed the world we had the intestinal fortitude (especially ?Torontonians?), to meet the threat strait on and pull of a major political event that, lets face it, is important to ?Global Society.? It is unfortunate that some law biding citizens were inconvenienced and we have to give extra powers to the police, but look at it as a sacrifice for the common good. Those that caused the damage should pay financially and with time behind bars. If they are visitors from outside the country they should be deported and banned from re-entry. The G20 is expected to play an increasingly essential role in the world economy and other major issues which need to be coordinated. As a middle power, and a buffer to the US our closest allie, Canada plays an important role. We are a rich nation, well regarded and respected around the world, we cannot nor can we afford to be isolationists. I was outside of the country for the final day of the G20 and comments I heard from a wide range of foreigners were all positive, reflecting on the leadership and role that Canada provided to the visiting delegates. Thank you Toronto for hosting this event.

I am not in such an “open” relationship, so it is hard to relate too, nor can I really condone or condemn Kelly's action. Although I fantasize about a threesome with two other women, it doesn’t include my SO (but maybe it could). We have never discussed this eventuality as we are pretty traditional and “boring”. I might be judged as hypocritical but I couldn’t go through Kelley's presented scenario at all - I am totally turned off by the idea. I fly a lot and I appreciate just getting to my destination safely. Once flying to Germany from Toronto we lost almost all power to one engine and had to emergency land in Montreal around midnight. As you can imagine there was little support to handle the unexpected arrivals, hotel accommodations and rebooking for the next flight in the morning. One passenger voiced his opinion; I will never fly AC again accusing the flight crew of incompetence, etc. At the risk of retribution, I asked him to keep his opinions to himself, ?Would you rather be swimming in the Atlantic?" I asked him. He piped down. All this to say, today people are tending to look inward - its all about me. We need to change this, is should be all about us - let's enjoy experiences together and appreciate what each of us brings to the table.

Grass Hopper et al: Please don?t judge Ottawa negatively from your recent experience (You might guess I am from Ottawa). Those who know better have offered some advice on this thread. I hope you just needed to vent a bit and that?s ok, we are all human and we all need to be ?stroked? occasionally. Give Ottawa a fair shake and I hope things turn around for you. There are some great guys living here that would love to meet you, myself included. (At least I think I am a great guy...maybe you will have a chance to make your own judgement about me some day). Hobbyist recommendations are great on their own merit but they are not the ?be all, end all?. After all we all have our own preferences. A good reco might cause me to sit up and take notice but I put a lot of weight on impressions I determine after reading an SP?s comments on the various threads, her tone and attitude, her posted pictures (yep, I am visual) and the way that an SP presents herself on her own website. The whole package builds an impression and then I will decide whether or not to pursue a rendezvous. From what I see so far, with my short time in this community, are hobbeyists looking for a GFE built on mutual trust, certainly more than "slam bam thank you ma'm." Hope we continue to benefit from your contributions.

Good on you, Jr. I did an incall one time (indy) where the flat was a mess. Butts in the ash trays, empty cans on the kitchen table, clothes on the sofa and a light in the bathroom that didn’t work. Also, she was dressed is ripped jeans and flats and smelled of cigarette smoke. She also was a bit distracted by the fact that her SO was coming home once the coast was clear. This distracted me as well. I know I won’t go back but I went through with the appointment. The atmosphere was lost and I felt a little short changed in the end.
