  1. Amelia, I am reminded of something someone once told me: "Sometimes, you just piss God off!" :) And also - "Hang in there. It gets better!" You have my sympathies regarding your troubles.
  2. If you are getting into this and care not to share this information with others in your life, here are a couple of important things. Don't leave cookies or history. Chrome browser makes it very easy to delete your cookies and history every time you finish a CERB session. If you use Internet Explorer you will find it under Internet Options. CCleaner. Free software available here. Install it and run it after every session. It quickly cleans temporary Internet files, cookies, history, and caches in both Internet Explorer and Firefox at the same time, as well as empties your Recycle Bin and rids your computer of Windows log files. Occasionally run the command %temp% (with XP, click on Start, click on Run, enter %temp%, click OK. The Windows 7 Run command is similar). Delete all the files that show up. They are temporary files you do not need. A few files may not delete. Don't worry about them. "Find My Friends" phone app. Don't. If someone wants you to have it, turn it off when making a visit or be prepared with a good story for why you were at XX address for YY time. If you have a Blackberry, Google Latitude or the EchoEcho app provide the same function. If you get a separate phone for this hobby, ignore this one.
  3. I'm finding some of the Client-side responses in this thread to be amazing. In the last instance, on what basis does one "take a rough guess at what the majority of SPs would do". Does this come from handling the financials for a great number of SPs? IMHO making the assumption that most or any SPs do not file taxes is not a good assumption. Nor is making any assumptions on annual income. Earlier on in this thread there was a crack about SPs making 20 times the average wage. This is seriously "apples and oranges" in that the $10/hr wage earner is not paying rent for the business, is not paying the utilities, the taxes, the wholesale price of the goods being handled. Elsewhere in the thread is a very good description of what costs are incurred by the SP. So I guess I'm in the "I'm OK with that the SP charges" camp. Yes, there are some I would like to see that I cannot afford. There are also a lot charging in a price range I can afford. I can't afford a Mercedes but I'm not going use the term gouging to describe Mercedes price structure.
  4. Actually, it does make sense. Keep in mind the Subject and read it as if someone were literally writing English but thinking in another language. Many CERB-tites start from another language than English and occasionally interesting anomalies appear in their postings. Part of what makes the whole CERB experience as charming as it is. Carry on...
  5. Yes, I've had them. The one where we shared benefits the longest finally ended when she fell in love with one of her other friends. But it was a great time and given the same circumstances, I would do it again.
  6. No, no, no... the GIRL gets the tips! :) Hey, wee hours in the morning. Just couldn't resist. Welcome aboard, happy hunting, dance through the New To This section, find someone that strikes your fancy, do your homework regarding her profile and website, take your heart in your hands, contact her, make an arrangement, ignore the fluttering heart and shaky knees when you get to her door and dive in. The water is wonderful!
  7. Add me to the group of people who are bemused by the reaction to this verdict. Specifically, by the reaction that runs along the lines of "this guy was elected by the people of Toronto. It is not right that an un-elected person removes him from office". The judge did not remove him from office. Ford effectively removed himself when he entered - against advice from legal council - into a position of conflict of interest. The judge simply verified that Ford had done this. The judge then handed down the penalty prescribed by law. The whole elected - un-elected thing has nothing to do with it. And whether the judge was left, right, green or rhino had nothing to do with it either. And, as noted, it had nothing to do with the money. It had everything to do with his participation and vote regarding an issue that directly had to do with him.
  8. Nope, done that. It was an absolutely breathtaking "the earth moved" experience (thank you again to the fine ladies involved) but no, not that.
  9. I would think providing the name of a provider would provide enough information to stand as a reference. Oh, and all the other advice is good, too.
  10. Well done. Counted the Leap Years and everything. Somewhere around that age you've pretty much done a lot of what you are going to do. I don't count sky diving because in my case that just is not ever going to be on the list. So now I am working on exotic, special experiences remaining on the list. Something exciting is approaching. The anticipation is exquisite. :)
  11. Close. Something that has never happened but will.
  12. I suspect this is similar to what is said of alcoholics - once an alcoholic, always an alcoholic. They may not have had a drink for 18 years but the craving is still there. I further suspect this is exactly where I am with the hobby. And couldn't be happier.
  13. ... are worth waiting for. 32,699,520 minutes down. 12,870 to go. Give or take 240. He said, enigmatically. :)
  14. I have to think someone associated with the California International Marathon is laughing their ass off! :)
  15. I get what the writer was about. He thinks these things are not "cool" and no cool person should be seen with them. Which is OK if you accept that the writer is the final arbiter of what is "cool". If you don't accept that premise, then this is a list of things he doesn't like. Which is fine. To each his / her own. Some of us have articles on web sites, some of us don't. If I did, one of the first things I would mark as embarrassing would be people who put up lists of what they find embarrassing. :)
  16. People jaywalking on dark streets wearing dark clothing at night. OK, I know Goth is cool with some people, but the number of people wearing all dark at night in the street is amazing. Rick Mercer's Rant this week was on just this topic. Yeah, I know, I dress in a dark suit with a dark coat but I'm the one driving, not the one in the street!
  17. I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess you do not have a virus but have one or more nasty bits of malware. You can remove it yourself but it sounds like you are not comfortable trying that. That's ok. We're all good - and not good -at something. If money is not an issue, as I mentioned before, ask around and see where people you know have gotten their issues resolved. If you don't find someone there, if it were me, I'd check the Yellow Pages for the nearest independent computer repair shop. Stop by, browse around a bit, see how they treat the customers that come in, listen to the customers (are they coming in and bitch-slapping the staff? Strong clue!). If your gut feels good, get on up to the counter, tell them everything you've told us and see what they say. Find out their hourly rate, minimum rate, see if they will "ball-park" a quote for you. (If they do, don't hold them to it. Other crap might show up.) If it still feels good to you, fork over you trusty laptop, go home and wait for them to call.
  18. The answer to your specific question is yes, wiping the hard drive and re-installing Windows will resolve those issues. That being said, it is usually a case of over kill. I'm thinking there are programs like MalwareBytes for trojans and spyware available at http://download.cnet.com/windows/. You can also get a free version of AVG to check for viruses. But you said you no longer have Admin options so you might not be able to install these programs. If that's the case, either take it back from whence it came and have them resolve it or check around to see if someone you know knows someone or a small PC shop that does this. In each of these cases be prepared to spend money to resolve the problem. The upside of using one of the three options in the last paragraph is that you can ask them to try to save your data. If you don't care about the data and want the quickest fix, a wipe and redo of Windows is the way to go. Good luck with that.
  19. I just ran across a tweet from @miilkkk that is germane to this discussion: Sex without love is like ice cream without sprinkles. Still fucking awesome! (Side note: if your are not following @miilkkk you are missing some of the best humor in the twitterverse.)
  20. I am old enough to legally start drawing CPP and I am still enjoying all of this. My age and experience does enter in when I am considering this fine person or the other but I have been a happy client of 20-somethings and others twice their age. I agree the determinant factor for either group is at what point does it cease to be a positive experience. When you get there, you will be happier if you move on. My general philosophy has become "If it's not fun or you can't dance to it, I'm not doing it!"
  21. I remember when Ottawa made a big push to "clean up" Murray and St. Patrick, in theory, by ridding the city of prostitution. We know how well that worked. They simply moved the workers to other neighborhoods who, in turn, complained and the workers were moved on. It became - and is - a big game of "Where's Waldo" if you are looking for that type of thing. If you drive Murray and St. Patrick, you'll see a lot of new construction and renovation - the gentrification of the neighborhood. The Developers are making money. The "young urban" have fancy places to live. I'm trying to figure out where the low income people who used to live there found housing. I'm pretty sure the people behind "cleaning up" and gentrifying the place have no idea. In a strange coincidence, at 1:00 am on weekend nights, there are a lot of young women wandering around dressed quite similarly to the street workers that were moved on. Only now they are "good girls", I guess. I was surprised to encounter street workers in Amsterdam, even in the Red Light district. For pretty much every good or service on the market, there is a price point for everyone.
  22. Discovering Little Mutt. Better late than never.
  23. I suspect the operative word in the title "An Exotic Escort's Diary" is the word "An" as in this is her diary, her experiences, and it would be inaccurate to extrapolate her experiences to all escorts. Further, I suspect if I were given total access to the daily lives of twelve of CERB's finest for a month, I could write twelve separate diaries. But then again, I could be mistaken. I am open to correction from any and all providers.
