  1. Just a comment on the age of this thread and the rate at which things change. Of the links given by the OP, two of the domains no longer exist and two still exist but clearly indicate they are no longer functional organizations. The one in Aylmer still has all their pages but states on the Events page they have suspended operations. The remaining pages are an interesting read in that they give some insight into how such clubs operate. That said, I too would be interested in knowing if there are any present day situations like this.
  2. Just tried it with my BB and Tapatalk worked fine. What kind of trouble are you (were you) having?
  3. To answer the question left unresolved in my original post, the gents were not successful.
  4. An interesting thing came up this afternoon. A group of gents hired a Limo Bus for a bachelor party. The bus has a great sound and light system and even has its own "stripper pole". The party organizer came up with the great idea of hiring a dancer to come perform in the bus. At this moment I don't know how that came out as they are checking into the hotel. Question for those who dance or know folks who do: How likely is it that a dancer would sign up for this gig and what conditions would she set if she took on the task?
  5. Had an easy gig yesterday. Got a free coffee at a hotel Starbucks because they ran out of my type and had to blend in another coffee. Went to Wally World to get a 16Gb memory chip and a few other things. The chip did not scan. Cashier put it in the bag anyway so free $24 chip to put in camera I got for my birthday. Bought a 649, too. If that turns into anything, I'll let you know. A nice day.
  6. Yes, I was there. But if you blinked, you missed me. Shortly after I arrived I got a call and had to leave. Next time I will make double sure my time is blocked out. :( Major kudos to Angela and all for organizing this wonderful event. Looking forward to the next one and hopefully I'll get to meet all the people I missed this time.
  7. Yes, there are a couple of songs called Duncan by Paul Simon. The "Couple in the next room..." version was released on the album "The Essential Paul Simon" in 2007. The "My wife and me..." version was released on Disk 1 of "Paul Simon - Studio Recordings 1972-2000" released in 2004. It is a 9 CD box set. Links: http://www.metrolyrics.com/duncan-lyrics-paul-simon.html http://avaxhome.ws/music/rock/folk-rock_country-rock/Paul_Simon_Studio_Recordings_1972_2000.html Love his songs...
  8. Add me to the list! CERB socials are such a wonderful experience. I've got it on my calendar. Now - let's see what Reality adds to my calendar for that night. Hopefully, no conflicts!
  9. I received a response from Tapatalk. "Hello, So, this problem just started yesterday? Can you provide me a login so I can so [sic] what's going on? Thanks, Julio" And that, I think, ends my interest in getting a solution from Tapatalk. I have no interest - on a lot of grounds - in providing my login to anyone, let along a support geek who does not properly identify himself, cannot put together a proper sentence, and who seems to think these problems just started yesterday. I'm going back to the browser version of CERB on my BB.
  10. I stand corrected. I missed the comma after your 100%. Regarding pets and common sense, have you flown lately? The lady ahead of me on my last flight had two, not one, but two wriggly hairy dogs in her arms when she went through the scanner. The airline did not see fit to advise me at any time that I would be sharing my flight with the animals.
  11. Everyone who is seriously involved in the activities of this community has their own reasons for doing so. But it came to me that on the Client side, I would offer yet one more reason. Drug-free reality therapy! Let me explain. A serious issue has come up with my family in the States. The details are not important (except to me). Let it suffice to say that I am in the process of losing someone dear to me and that process will be long and drawn out. Not good. I took a week off to go down and address this situation. This was a difficult, emotionally draining experience. When I got back, I wanted to just take a bit of time to escape from reality. I don't do drugs. Scotch is nice but didn't quite seem to be the right thing. Then it hit me. I arranged a lovely session with one of CERB's finest. I had an experience completely detached from everything in my "real" life. During our encounter, there was nothing but her and me. Nothing existed outside of that room. I had fun. She had fun. There was humor. There was erotica. There was pleasure. When our time reached that point to which all good things must come, the end, there were loving hugs and kisses. Regenerated and refortified, I went through the door back into my life such as it is. A wonderful thing. I would recommend it to everyone.
  12. Yup. Starting yesterday afternoon, I get a message on my BB version that says "It seems you are having trouble connecting. Please try all the options under 'Set Default Network Type' until you find one that works for you. Please contact [email protected] if you are still having trouble connecting." Auto, MDS, BIS-B, WAP2, Default TCP, and TCP Cellular all fail with the same message. Those are all the available options. I am using Tapatalk 1.4.7.7. Just for grins and giggles, I've sent a query to the email address supplied. I'll let you know if and when I receive a reply.
  13. I was going to just read this thread and let it pass in as much as I have no dog in this fight, so to speak. I am not acquainted with the SP or the agency. But I so have an observation. I cannot agree the agency is 100% at fault or has any liability in this situation. It is up to the client to make any parties aware of allergies that are major issues. Follow me through on this. Say you have a death-defying allergy to shellfish (I know such a person.) Say the SP has just dined on lobster before seeing you. You kiss the SP and voila, you have a reaction to the shellfish (the individual I know can react to kissing someone who has previously just eaten shellfish). As you have not shared the information about your shell-fish related condition, how is anyone to know this is going to happen? I know of another individual who is literally allergic to anything that grows in soil - grass, weeds, flowers, trees and so on. This person would react if there was so much as a single plant growing in the room. (This person is on major medication because of this, as you might imagine.) I doubt it would occur to any SP or agency to advise any and all potential clients of the presence of said plant. IMHO, it is incumbent on any individual who has an allergy that could conceivably arise to advise the SP or agency of the situation. Since most people do not have such conditions, the SP or agency, in the absence of any information to the contrary, will not consider this as a possible issue. That's my 2 cents (soon to round down to 0 cents).
  14. Great link - spot on topic. There are two lines in it I love: How to Overcome Participation Inequality You can't. Succinct and to the point. That being said, by all means we should encourage input, observations, and story-telling from any and all. My greatest fear before I first posted was that no one would care about what I said. Over time, the positive feedback - which includes those who disagree with me - helped me overcome that. So if you are one who has yet to make the first post or the fifth or the five hundredth, feel free to reply and tell me you agree or tell me to stick it.
  15. The news reports I heard today said they were also looking for a 17-year-old girl in relation to this. I think one could safely guess she was doing the driving if anyone was. Who knows... maybe they were using OC Transpo.
  16. May I offer a suggestion regarding your decision making? Up there at the far right end of the CERB Menu bar - click on My Notes. I use that to keep track of info bits that eventually go into the final decision process. Good luck and happy .. well... whatever.
  17. Oasis was a wonderful discovery just after I moved here from the States. If you want to spend a moment reflecting on the memories of the place, go to the restaurant Beckta. As you stand in front of Beckta, Oasis was in the building just to the right. I'm often there dropping off or picking up clients and more than once I've wondered if the people living in that building have more erotic dreams than normal.
  18. Saw a "GET LOST" today. Trying to decide if the owner was antisocial or an big fan of camping in the bush.
  19. IMHO this is definitely a YMMV area. I've been on Lipitor for years. A quick dance through Google would indicate that I should be dead by now but I've had no negative side-effects. But then, picking one article at random, The Dangers of Statin Drug Use, and going the extra step of checking the author's credentials, I find the author is not a doctor, a researcher or a scientist. He is "studying to be a direct marketing copywriter to provide a needed service to those who must market their products either through print media or online." When cholesterol is under discussion, is it HDL, LDL, or VLDL? My point is that it is easy to fall into a trap of being overly simplistic and/or not verifying the sources. None of which, by the way, is intended to say I negate anyone else's experiences, good, bad, or terrible.
  20. With the advent of 4 letter - 3 digit license plates in Ontario, there has been some conjecture on whether the powers that be would issue plates that began BBBJ. I drive around a lot. Seriously, a lot! So I've been checking passing cars to see if I can spot one. The closest I've come is seeing BBBB 259. I'll keep looking. Why, you might ask, do I devote so much time to this? I'm glad you asked. The Harper Government has decided it would be a good idea to start moving the goal posts for retirees. Now it is 65 to 67. I would suggest that if they stay in power, it will go from 67 to 70. I can't do crap about that. The Harper Government has decided to rewrite the rules and underlying principles regarding EI. Never mind that the size of the benefits has been whittled down to ridiculous levels already. When they get done, if you turn down that job at Timmy's because you have a Masters in Computer Science, **poof** go your benefits. Never mind that when you finally get a chance to interview for a position in your field, the interviewer will look at your CV, see that series of crap jobs you've been forced to take, and tell you you've been out of your field too long so all you can get now are crap jobs. (Yes, I know interviewers do that because I worked in that role and told people exactly that.) And if the Harper Government can find you a crap job half-way across the country and you turn it down because your SO has a job here, yada yada yada, tough. No money for you. I can't do crap about that. The Harper Government is changing the rules for refugees so now, instead of waiting forever for a hearing, they will get one right away. That would be a good thing except their hearing is going to be rushed and the adjudicator may or may not have a clue what they are doing (can you spell political appointment?) and when the decision is made that this bleeding, bruised, tortured person isn't really in any danger if they get shipped back to the hellhole they just spent their life savings to escape, there is no appeal. Gone, bye-bye, have fun. And that refugee can give up any thought about any kind of health services during their soon-to-be brief stay. We, as a country, are going to be as mean-spirited as possible so we can save enough money to pay for all those stupid signs scattered about the countryside telling us this and that project is being brought to us by the Harper Government. I can't do crap about that. But do you want to know what I can do? Look for BBBJ plates. If I see one, I'll let you know.
  21. I ran into this last summer trying to access CERB on a laptop over a campground Wi-Fi. But I had no problem getting here using Amazon's Whispernet on my Kindle. Through trial and error I worked out that the campground was running a "family friendly" Wi-Fi. Since I've known the camp owner's for some 20 years I did not discuss this with them. We all like to keep our secrets!
  22. George Lindsey, who played Goober on The Andy Griffith Show, died following a brief illness. He was 83. You are REALLY old if you know what I'm talking about. Sent from my BlackBerry 9780 using Tapatalk
  23. To the concern raised regarding your clients minding you sharing space, speaking for myself, no, I've never minded. I've seen and not seen the roommate, depending, and my general reaction to seeing the roommate is "nice, an unexpected and unanticipated joy!". As with any business, you do what you need to do and the client can accept it as part of the deal.
  24. The SO part of an SP's life is part of the "private" side of her story. There are a lot of areas in her private side you might not care for. None of this should affect the guest - SP relationship, IMHO. I would think that a gentleman who finds the "fantasy" to be a key element would avoid peeking behind the curtain and learning too much. When I am with my clients, they are the most important people in the world at that moment. I'm pretty sure they know I have other clients. And I happen to know that my mechanic is working on his own car when he's not with me. For me, it is pretty much all the same.
