Congratulations Peachy on 1000 posts!!!
Phaedrus replied to spud271's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Congratulations, Peachy! Looking forward to many more! -
A bit off-topic, but worth saying anyway... backups are your friends! Losing your ads because your hard drive died may be annoying, but losing truly irreplaceable things like photos would be far worse. It's definitely worth buying an external hard drive to back up everything you consider valuable. Better yet, buy two, and back up to both, and keep the second one at a different location so you don't lose everything if your house catches fire and burns to the ground...

How to post a lukewarm review
Phaedrus replied to stand on guard's topic in Ottawa Discussion - Escorts
Couldn't say. It'd depend on who wrote it :) Some guys love to go into lengthy details and write epic accounts of their encounters, some are rather more minimalist (as above), and - alas - many people don't write recos at all. So to judge a very terse reco like the one above, you'd really have to have read a few more of the author's recos for other ladies. If they're all like that, then that's probably just his style. If he's written much more enthusiastic-sounding recos for other ladies... well, maybe this one was just phoned in, for whatever reason, and it might be reasonable to infer something from that. To be honest, any reco at all is never a bad thing. -
A good thread on rep points in general: http://www.cerb.ca/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=49126 Frank7, you can't give out rep points (other than nominations) until you've reached a threshold on both the number of posts you have, and the number of rep points you have yourself. I think you need 25 of each, so assuming Mod hasn't changed it since then you'll need a few more posts at least....

Addiction - Living two separate lives

Wow! That's quite the tale... Hope everything works out for you, and I hope writing it all down has help you sort out how you feel about it. It does, sometimes. -
How to post a lukewarm review
Phaedrus replied to stand on guard's topic in Ottawa Discussion - Escorts
I really don't see the point of a lukewarm reco. Either recommend someone, or don't. And please bear in mind that just because you didn't think someone was entirely wonderful, that doesn't mean she won't turn out to be the next guy's ATF. We can't all get on perfectly with everyone. As far as I'm concerned, the only really relevant question is: do I want to see her again? If yes, I'll write a reco, assuming she's OK with it (which doesn't always mean I --have-- seen her again, just that I would). If not, I won't. -
An addendum to Porthos' post above; it should be noted that the bawdy-house law has been struck down in Ontario, and the whole thing is now going to the Supreme Court... so the law at the moment can probably be best described as "uncertain". But even before that, nobody was interested in prosecuting it unless there were other reasons for doing so (drugs, underage or trafficked SPs, complaints from neighbors, etc). Visiting an incall has always been a bit like driving at 101 on the highway; technically illegal, but nobody gives a damn.

Questions to SP/MA, real life?
Phaedrus replied to Frank7's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
And that should really be the end of the conversation. Although I'll take the liberty of adding: sometimes, when you're in a hole, it's best to stop digging. -
Questions to SP/MA, real life?
Phaedrus replied to Frank7's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
This is not Real Life. The normal rules do not always apply here. Many do, but some don't, and this is one of them. -
Must say, it's never bothered me, particularly. You end up paying about the same anyway.

None at all, so don't ask me whether you should :) To be fair I should probably say that I avoid the chat-room for any particular reason... I just don't use it.

Noob Question: SP's contacting clients etiquette?
Phaedrus replied to a topic in New to this? Things you should know...
Well... yes. This seems risky. If a call/email is required at a particular time to confirm an appointment, then that's fine; presumably the client can arrange to be able to take the call/email. As for random communications... in the absence of any other information, I'd have thought this was a bad idea. Of course, this sort of thing is also why it's a good idea to have a completely separate phone and email for CERB-related activities. You don't turn on the phone or check the email until/unless it's safe to do so. Problem solved! And since that's what I do, I'm quite happy for ladies I know to drop me an email or text to say Hi if they feel so inclined (and very flattered when they do, for that matter :) ). Although if it's a text, it might take me a week or three to see it... but that's just me, and the way I operate. It doesn't apply to everyone. -

Somewhere else I really want to go: Antarctica. Preferably before the whole lot melts...

From what I've read, this is a huge problem. At least the previous generation, if they were bullied at school, had an escape from it at home. But now, kids get out of school and it immediately continues on Twitter/FB/etc and there's no escape at all. I can't imagine this makes it easier to deal with.

Yes, if your profile is protected then it just won't work. This is by design. If you profile is protected, presumably you don't want just anyone reading your tweets here, right? Of course, that doesn't excuse the fact that it seems broken even if your twitter feed is wide open...

Fail Whale! I haven't seen that since... I can't remember when. It's still annoying.
