3. I don't think that either the world or the people in it have become much worse. But the world has become much smaller, with two consequences that lead to a greater perception of it. Firstly, we now encounter far more people than we did back in the days when many would have been born, lived and died in the same community. That means that it's easier to flee a bad reputation. The unethical can screw a few people over and move on in a way that simply wasn't possible in the past. I don't think that means that more people are dishonest than before... just that we're likely to run into more of them. Secondly, communications have become much better, and we're all under the microscope a lot more. We hear about crimes on the other side of the country (or even the other side of town) that we wouldn't have known about in the past... and the reaction is to lock our doors and keep our kids inside. And politicians find it harder to get away with the kind of back-room deals and nepotism and old-boys networks that have always existed. We find out about it, these days, whereas in the past we just didn't.
4. I have to disagree, I'm afraid :) I can see how this may come across as a whole bunch of rules, but really, most of this stuff is just common sense and common courtesy. But it clearly needs saying to some - you can tell by the way the same things come up over and over again. My feeling is that if this thread - and others like them - prevent a few bad experiences between SPs and clients, then they're well worth it. And on the topic of this thread specifically... yes, I think it needs saying. I've had to stop and give myself a virtual tap on the shoulder on occasion, because the idea that an hour or two of fantasy could become a permanent reality is a very seductive trap, but nevertheless...
5. Yes, I'm sure OD is definitely increasing his grains and veggie intake... mostly in the form of hops and barley :) I'm not so sure about tofu, though. Tofu is the curdled sperm of the devil.
6. If you want an hour of her time in CR, then fine. If you're wanting more than you get in the club... yes it'd be bad form. I'm sure the dancers get lots of offers like this, and I'm sure a few of them would be up for it, but there's a high risk of just pissing her off. If you want an SP, there are plenty of awesome ones around, and you can probably find someone to suit your preferences. And they have the great advantage that you know in advance exactly what their rates are and what's on offer.
7. Congratulations, Lee! Thanks for all the entertainment! We salute you!

10. ...someone took down GoDaddy, and all the sites they host. http://techcrunch.com/2012/09/10/godaddy-outage-takes-down-millions-of-sites/ Looking forward to seeing the post-mortem on this one. One guy with a grudge really shouldn't be able to do that much damage, and the fact that it happened indicates that there's something seriously wrong at GoDaddy on the security front. Additional Comments: Update: no hacking after all, just a spectacular screw-up by GoDaddy. http://www.godaddy.com/newscenter/release-view.aspx?news_item_id=410

Germany's former first lady fights escort rumours BERLIN - Germanyâ??s former first lady Bettina Wulff has used a new autobiography to reject allegations that she once worked as an escort and announced legal measures to try to silence the rumours, which have spread over the Internet. Wulff, 38, was Germanyâ??s youngest first lady when her husband Christian became president in 2010. She was initially celebrated in the German media as a glamorous and independent-minded woman, with endless column inches devoted to the tattoo on her arm and her fashion sense, seemingly giving Germany its answer to Michelle Obama and French first lady Carla Bruni. But rumours about her past began to appear online just as her husband was becoming embroiled in a financial favours scandal that forced him out of the largely ceremonial post in February. Photographs of â??Lady Viktoriaâ?, a blonde wearing a black blindfold, were avidly compared with pictures of Wulff on the Internet. No allegations were reported in mainstream media, but Wulff became the subject of jokes. In the new book, due out this week, the mother-of-two says the allegations have hurt her deeply. â??I have never worked as an escort,â? she writes. In a chapter of her book entitled â??The Rumoursâ?, Wulff writes: â??Apparently my pseudonym was Lady Viktoria and my place of work was an establishment called â??Chateau Osnabrueckâ??.â? Wulff, whose husband was once considered a rival to Chancellor Angela Merkel, has also taken legal steps, including bringing a complaint against the Internet search engine Google. Entering Bettina Wulffâ??s name in the German language version of the site automatically generates the words â??escortâ? and â??prostituteâ? as suggested search terms. Wulff described her fear that her son could see this. â??If he puts my name in and those are the first expressions he sees ... then I find that so horrid and shameful. I canâ??t put the feeling into words.â? Google has said it does not select these words itself. â??Googleâ??s automatically generated search suggestions reflect the actual searches users are carrying out. Suggested expressions are generated by algorithms from many objective factors, including the popularity of the search term,â? Kay Oberbeck, a spokesman for Google, said in a statement. Wulffâ??s lawyer said a number of publishing outlets had agreed to pay her damages for reporting the allegation, but did not name the parties or say how much they had paid. The German Journalistsâ?? Association (DJV) questioned the timing of the legal action. â??The fact that this is happening at the same time as her book is going on sale arouses suspicions of a PR campaign designed to get attention,â? said Michael Konken, the head of the association. Christian Wulff separated from his wife of 18 years in 2006 and married Bettina, a press officer who had a son from a previous relationship, two years later. Wulff was premier of the state of Lower Saxony from 2003 to 2010 and a deputy leader of Merkelâ??s Christian Democrats (CDU) before the chancellor nominated him to become president. German media have suggested the rumours about his wife were invented by political rivals to discredit him. Wulffâ??s standing started to unravel last year when Germanyâ??s top-selling newspaper Bild accused him of misleading the state parliament over a cheap home loan from a businessman friend. He threatened the editor of Bild with â??warâ? if he published the story, then later apologised. After that a stream of allegations about unpaid-for flight upgrades, hotel stays and gifts chipped away at his credibility. Joachim Gauck, a former East German rights activist and Protestant pastor, succeeded Wulff as head of state in March. ========= And to actually comment on this.... wouldn't it be nice to live in a world where no-one gave a damn whether this was true or not?
13. Glad to hear it! And I have to say, I'm somewhat jealous, 'cos I have no doubt that your virginity-losing experience was a --lot-- better than most of us managed!
14. A quick look through the reco section probably wouldn't be amiss before posting. She has a reco thread, if you look.
15. Yes, but I don't think Jamie has a reco thread yet, and members with very low post counts can't start new reco threads, so this was probably the only option. Thanks for the reco, zipper123 - and if you post a few more times (or someone else writes a reco for her) then I'm sure Jamie would appreciate it! As would the rest of us, for that matter; more recos are always good :)
