Since we appear to be having a Greek weekend... Salonika (better known as Thessaloniki). Here's PAOK, their best-known soccer team:

Carly Rae Jepson vs Chatroulette. The reactions to this are... priceless. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YCiY1y3uJ3o But you'll probably want the brain bleach afterwards...

If anyone's gong to do this... please start by visiting your local SC and learn to count the way the dancers do :) -
I'm surprised. Normally it takes at least two songs before the dancers "loses count". I generally ask the dancer where we're at after 2-3 songs.... and if she adds one, I'll pay up and leave: no questions, no arguments, no tip, no repeat business. If she's honest, and I like her... we'll continue. Best dancer ever: had four dances, tipped her for an extra one, and she came chasing after me to tell me that I'd overpaid. I can't remember her name, but I remember her face and I love her anyway. And yes, I tipped her a bit more for being honest :)

Rude? I was told I was gay for not going to CR with someone in NF. Needless to say, I warned all the guys I was with off the person who said that... clearly she had lessons to learn on basic marketing, as well as basic courtesy. True, AFAIK. Dancers have to pay to work (house fees, buying mandatory drinks, tipping bouncers and the DJ). The only make $$$ when you actually give them $$$... and they have to make quite a bit just to break even for the night. +1 on that. Really, the nastiest thing you can do to a dancer is to string her along and let her spend time on you when you have no intention of giving her $$$. Of course, if she knows that and then decides to spend time with you anyway, that's her call....

Tricky one, that. As has been noted, any, fixed "Buy X, get one free" scheme is open to abuse, and any worthwhile client will never expect anything (although may be happy to accept whatever you offer :) ). Perhaps consider offering no formal reward scheme based on a number of appointments, but maybe just give little extras to your regular clients? Just watch the clock a little less when you see them, or something.... obvious that depends on how you run your schedule and it won't fly if you have another appointment booked, but it may be worth thinking about.... But it goes without saying: these are just my suggestions. Your business is yours to run. -
There are really far too many people that I need to thank. The thing about CERB is that it's community, built on the continuous interaction of all of its members. All of us are constantly building off what's laid down by everyone else here; none of us can do much in isolation. And so I'd like to send out a tip o' the hat to all of you who I've had dealings with in the past, however tenuous... including (but not limited to): All of you who have created, and contributed to, entertaining and informative threads that I can post in; All of you who have replied to my posts, and thus created interesting conversations; All of you who have expressed appreciation for the random crap I put up here, whether through rep points or PMs or other forms of feedback; In particular: all those folks who have posted on etiquette, and allowed me to (mostly) avoid making a whole bunch of stupid mistakes and pissing people off unnecessarily; And last, but my no means least: all of you guys who have posted recos, and thus allowed me to have a whole bunch of awesome experiences rather than just picking at random and hoping forr the best.

Favourite Olympic sport?
Phaedrus replied to Cato's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
To be fair, the rampant corruption at FIFA is more to do with money and the awarding of lucrative tournaments than the outcome of any particular game. As for the Canada vs US controversies... well, I haven't seen the game, so I can't comment on the specifics of it. However, two very general points: 1. The referee is always right, even when he (or she) is clearly wrong. 2. One of the inevitable hazards of supporting a team, in any sport, is that sooner or later, your team will lose because of a horrible decision (or six) by the officials. -
Desolation Row... makes me think of Skid Row. And so to one of the classic parent-annoying anthems of my youth: Skid Row - Get The Fuck Out

To be fair, the paper makes it clear that "The Erotic Highway" is a sub-section of TER where this kind of thing is discussed. I think that's just a standard journalism fail. After all, you can't really expect journalist to actually --read-- the stuff they're reporting on, can you? No, wait.... I'm afraid I find their findings... pointless, although perhaps politically useful. They do, at least, acknowledge the limitations of their sample: Alas, the rest of the paper consists of quoting posts from TER, and paraphrasing them. So, alas, I don't think this paper adds anything whatsoever to the understanding of why clients see SPs. It tells us nothing new. And so, from a scientific perspective, I consider it worthless. Any research worthy of merit would have attempted to avoid a self-electing sample at the very least. Having trashed this paper from a scientific perspective, however, I should acknowledge its usefulness from a political one. The commonly-held view of clients in the wider community does seem, alas, to be that they're a bunch of deviants who are too ugly or weird to get laid without paying for it (yes, I know we know better, but the general public doesn't). And so anything that furthers the fact that not all guys who see SPs are predators and criminals is very much worthwhile.

That works out well! By the time you're done with classes, I'll have crawled out of bed and be ready for morning humpy-time (for some appropriately loose definition of "morning" :) ). Highlight of my day: it's Friday, dammit!

Well, you can do anything with some well-chosen facts (example: Hitler became vegetarian later in life due to gastric problems, rather than for any moral or philosophical reason) and some outright falsehoods (Ludwig was his mother's third child, so quite how we're supposed to make judgements based on children who haven't been born yet isn't clear). http://www.snopes.com/glurge/twoquestions.asp

What does it mean to have a 'home'?
Phaedrus replied to Nathalie L's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Home is the place I came from, and that I go back to. All of them. -
It could be worse: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBGPbSkWSFU I sure as hell hope that was a tribute band, Lee... Don't worry... my friends have no idea how I discover them, either :) And finally... a non-Olympic fail for you all.
