  1. I've seen blogs done by providers in the past. They're often pretty interesting, although obviously that depends on the person doing it. They seem a lot less common now because they've been replaced by things like Twitter. Only thing I'd say on this is: if you do it, make sure you keep doing it, and if you can't, erase all evidence of it. There's nothing sadder than a link to "my blog" on someone's website, and when you go there it has only a handful of posts and the last was six months ago.
  2. The fact that she's an escort is NOT why she's facing a hearing. It has nothing to do with the complaints against her. The article makes that clear at the beginning. And no, if a google search turned up that a professional I was thinking of seeing had been a sex worker 20 years ago, I wouldn't care. What matters is the service they provide and that you're paying for. Perhaps it would be an issue for some folks... but I'd have thought the audience on this board would have been slightly less judgemental about that sort of thing than the general public. Bear in mind also that a google search on someone's real name is *not* going to throw up their sex-worker identity, unless there are articles like this that explicitly link the two. That doesn't mean nobody would ever find the link... but Joe Average who's just looking for a lawyer (or dentist, or whatever) probably wouldn't.
  3. Using very old photos and never updating your age does seem to be a short-sighted approach. I'd have thought that anyone who books based on that is likely to be somewhat surprised when the meeting happens, and even if it's not a deal-breaker at the time it probably reduces the chance of subsequent repeat visits. It also means that clients who might be looking for someone a little older will stay away. And so you end up with the wrong clients visiting just once, and the right ones never showing up at all. This doesn't strike me as a good long-term strategy. Of course, if someone's business is mostly regulars who have been seeing her for years, the fact that she hasn't updated her age or pics probably doesn't matter in the slightest.
  4. This article really pisses me off. The point of it - such as it is - seems to be that her previous behaviour in the legal profession crossed some lines and some folks think that she shouldn't be a lawyer as a result. If what's alleged about that is true... well, they may have a point, but I'm not 100% convinced that's a newsworthy story. The only point of this article seems to be that the aspiring lawyer in question is also an escort. That has absolutely no bearing on her legal abilities, but it allows a lazy journalist to write a story with some titillation for the masses and a clickbait headline. It sounds like she's already out publicly as being an escort, but what good does outing her further achieve?
  5. There's no harm in following up after a couple of days (or even a full day), I think, provided you do it right. "Hey, I was wondering if you got my mail" is OK. "Why didn't you reply to me?" will make you look like an entitled asshole, which is probably not what you want :)
  6. I've never liked Facebook much, because of its relentless harvesting of data about its users. I still use it somewhat, but only for my real life stuff, and I'm careful about what I post there.
  7. Be aware that content providers are starting to block VPN exits, precisely because a lot of people are using VPNs to get around geographical restrictions. And piracy, having declined for a while, is on the rise again. Most people are honest and are willing to pay for things, but if you refuse to sell it to them, they'll get it another way...
  8. Brass is massage, and you've posted in the escorts section, so it may not be what you're after... How far are you prepared to travel? Are you stuck downtown, or do you have wheels?
  9. It would be great if people could explain *why* it's not easy to navigate, or what would make it easier. And also say whether this is using a phone or a more traditional browser. At the moment it's clear there's a problem, but not at all clear what the problem is... which will make it *very* hard to fix.
  10. My understanding is that the plan was always to do this sort of thing in the middle of the term. Too soon and it looks like it was a huge priority and they'll get attacked for it; too late and you get the controversy dragging into the election campaign. "Take a good hard look at" in this case probably means "forget about". Unfortunately.
  11. Congratulations, Cato! You've contributed a lot over the years :)
  12. I haven't noticed a lot of fake pics, here at least. Sure, a lot are cleaned up a bit and flatteringly posed, but that's not the same as fake. And the reputable Ottawa spas and indies use the same, real pics everywhere they advertise. The Asian agencies always used to have a reputation for doing a *lot* of airbrushing on their pics, but that was kinda known by everyone. I assume things haven't changed there. Also: referring to providers who might not be to your liking as gorillas or hobgoblins is not a good way to introduce yourself to everyone else on the board.
  13. It sounds like the OP had enough money on him at the time to pay the extra that the MA wanted. It strikes me that this was somewhat fortunate - there's no guarantee that a client will bring more than they're expecting to pay. I can't help but think that this could have turned out worse if that hadn't been an option.
  14. As the others have said, she shouldn't have dinged you for extra. It reminds me of VIP visits at SCs where the number of songs is always higher than you reckon for, which is why I don't go to SCs any more :)
  15. CMJ's outcall service. ...at the end of a night's drinking. Probably a high risk of undesirable incidents if they cater to that crowd...
  16. The sticky threads probably still exist... but will be in the forum index according to when they were last posted to, so they may require some effort to find. On viewing profiles - could you log out and then log back in anonymously?
  17. The right thing to do would be to post in the scams/warnings forum for the appropriate city.
  18. If anyone thinks there's a particular thread that ought to be sticky but isn't, the best thing to do is probably drop a PM to Cerbmod with a link to it.
  19. I'm with you on that. It's more trouble than it's worth, not to mention the implications of supporting the current regime. Sometimes it's unavoidable, but when I can reasonably avoid it, I do.
  20. I have no idea. But I believe things in the US are sometimes regional (same here, for that matter) so it might be useful if you said where you were going.
  21. VPNs are certainly an important part of this, but they don't come close to being the whole story. You'd also have to have completely separate browsers for FB and for other use, at the very least, to avoid tracking via cookies and other methods (these don't rely on the IP address you're using). And you might need more than that (separate machines, VMs, or things like Tails) to avoid things like LSOs that are stored on the machine as a whole Another issue: AFAIK VPNs are much harder to use from a phone, and accessing everything from your phone is a primary source of the kind of tracking that we're talking about here. Even if you use one, a VPN doesn't help if your phone is tracking your location at all times (and most people have location tracking turned on and don't think about it). If all that sounds complicated... you're right, it is! That's why most people don't do anything about it, and companies like Facebook and Google continue to know everything about everyone. Also: there are much better sources of information for this stuff than random Chinese websites (that's where topvpn100 is probably based, from the whois data, and it's clearly written by someone who has English as a second language).
  22. I've never met either Brody or this lady, but they definitely don't look the same to me...
  23. In general: hands only. No oral, no FS. Many MAs are fine with you giving as well as receiving when it comes to hands, but not all, so ask if in doubt.
