This has been talked about at great length in the past; do some searching and you'll find a lot of threads on it (like this one, which is in this forum and was made sticky for precisely this reason). In a nutshell, prostitution itself is and always has been legal. There are three things that are not legal, which are: First, "living off the avails" (ie profiting from someone else's prostitution), which was probably aimed at making pimps illegal but also prevents SPs from employing security or drivers, and may be used against the landlord if the SP uses an incall that she doesn't own, or against her family if she supports them. Second, running or being found in a "bawdy house" (ie a brothel), which is usually defined as a single location used by at least one prostitute to see more than one client. Note that it has *never* applied to a client's home, so outcalls have always been legal. Thirdly, communication for the purposes of prostitution - but only in a public place (this one was aimed at, and completely screws over, SPs who work on the streets). This doesn't include conversations where there's a reasonable expectation of privacy (e.g. a phone conversation), and the entire Internet has been found in court not be a place under this law. In Ontario, the first two have been struck down by the appeals court and the whole lot is on its way to the Supreme Court, so the chances of anything related to any of this being actually tried before the SC rules on it are minimal. Having said all that: the police don't give a shit about you, or who you have fun with, or what you give them in return, provided everyone consents to everything and the neighbors don't complain. The only times you really see the police doing anything are when people running incalls have become so disruptive that the police have been forced to step in and do something. But most SPs fly completely under the radar on this, and the police have a million and one better things to be doing... especially given that the relevant law is currently being challenged in the highest court in any case. Visiting a reputable lady's incall might be technically illegal right now (outside Ontario) but it's like driving at 101 on the highway. So: go out, have fun, stop worrying :)

MAs <--> SPs, and reco threads

Thanks for your thoughts, all! I guess the consensus is... it depends :) -
Okay, I can't think of a link to the previous song, but given recent events hereabouts, I'm posting this anyway. Call this a hijack, if you will. It's a song about mathematics, and academia, and plagiarism, and it's funny as hell. Tom Lehrer - Lobachevsky

Well, I'm gong to buck the trend somewhat and nominate someone who's not around all that much... Nathalie Lefebvre. No, she doesn't post all that much - which is our loss - but she's well worth paying attention to when she does. She's smart, down-to-earth, funny, and hot as hell. What more do you want? -

I'm not about to dispute WIT's most erudite analysis, but I think there's another aspect to the milf thing. There has, historically, been an assumption that women got married and had babies, in that order; and that once a woman was married, that's it. She's taken, and off the market. Obviously, neither assumption has been true at any point in history... but society has frequently pretended it was. And so I think the milf thing is somewhat tied in with the cuckolding thing, and the underlying assumption that this is a zero-sum game and that by getting it on with someone who has kids you're getting one up over someone else. Given that many of us guys are fundamentally competitive in nature, the idea of getting one over someone else is... good :)

Can I have your belongings when you're done with them, please? Assuming they're still generating money, of course... if not, you can keep 'em :) Highlight of my day: the end of it. IT'S THE WEEKEND!!!

Someone take this off the Internet. My ribs hurt. -
I've seen Lany at the spa before, and been impressed (see above), so you can rest assured I wasn't too disappointed to see that she'd left and was going independent. It took a bit of time to find a mutually convenient time to meet, but it was well worth the wait. So I showed up at her incall, we chatted for a bit, and Lany offered me a massage to get things started. The fact that Lany's now a SP doesn't mean she's forgotten how to give a fantastic massage - which was a good thing, 'cos I needed it! She seemed to take each and every knot in my back as a personal affront, and made a very good job of getting them out. Which, of course, meant that I was nicely loosened up for what followed ;) All I'll say from here is that Lany is just as talented and enthusiastic with all of that as she is with massages... much fun was had! And I'll absolutely be back for more.

Nempnett Thrubwell. You can find out what it means here. And for anyone still reading this far into this thread, you should absolutely read The Meaning of Liff. It's genius. Fortunately, it's also online.

Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, Wales. Because we can't have a thread like this without that one popping up somewhere :)

Something I was wondering about.... We have MAs, and we have SPs, and they have reco threads. The thing is, sometimes MAs become SPs, and sometimes SPs become MAs... and sometimes the ladies who do this change the name they work under when they do this, and sometimes they don't. But these ladies are likely to garner recommendations both as MAs and and SPs, and these recommendations are likely to be of interest to somewhat different audiences - although there are quite a few of us guys who see both MAs and SPs, there are also quite a few who stick to one or the other... and so it would seem sensible for ladies who switch between the two to have two reco threads, for their MA and SP personas. On the other hand, it seems fundamentally unfair for some ladies to have two reco threads while others only get one. So, what does everyone think about this? Should we separate MA and SP recos, even when they're for the same person? Or not? Does it make a difference if the lady changes the name she uses as a SP and MA? There are currently examples of both approaches that I could point to, so there doesn't seem to be any consensus on this at the moment... hence the question. Thoughts?

I'd have thought that one of the reasons to see an accountant would be to work out what your options were in the first place :) After all, if you're paying for professional advice, you might as well get your money's worth... Having said that, I'm sure there's good and bad accountants for this sort of thing, and doubtless some of the ladies here may have recommendations...

I like RG because he finally showed LeeRichards who's boss in the fishing stakes. And also because he's generally an all-round awesome guy. And doesn't wear speedos.
