Well, you seem to have already worked out where to advertize, and how the shoutbox works, so that's a good start :) Read the FAQ if you haven't already. Other than that, all I can say is make sure the people who come to see you go away happy, and hopefully a reco or two will happen as a result (although I suspect most people don't write them, alas). If you really want to raise your profile, get involved with the rest of the board and join in the various conversations that are happening at any given time... there's usually something for most people, be it serious or silly, and if not you can always start something new. Also, have a play with the search pages to find previous threads on things you might want to know about Given where you work, hopefully you have access to some other ladies who can give you a good start in the industry as a whole... and I've always been amazed by how helpful and supportive people here are to each other, so don't be afraid to ask about stuff.

Absolutely. Unfortunately, as we see over and over again, there's a significant number of guys who simply don't give a shit about the ladies they're seeing. The kind of person who doesn't care about wasting someone's time by no-showing or cancelling at the last second is, alas, probably also not going to care too much about the prospect of giving her a cold and putting her out of work for a few days (never mind the fact that having a cold is just miserable anyway, even if it isn't costing you). Sad, but true.

I must admit, I'm surprised by this. If you're going to spend an hour or so in a relatively small room with someone else who's got a cold, even if you do nothing besides sit on opposite sides of the room and chat... well, I'd admit that I don't know what your chances of catching that cold would be, but I'd imagine they're not negligible. But then, turning someone down will doubtless annoy them, so there's clearly a balancing act here. I guess everyone has to make their own call on it, each time...

benadams... FYI, it's a tradition (kinda) that folks here are welcomed to Mt Olympus at the appropriate time. You see the little bar with reputation points on it at the top right of each post? It used to be the case that if you mouse-over this, you'd see alt-text which would vary depending on how many rep points the poster has, so you'd get things like, "XXX is a new member," and "XXX has over 1000 reputation points!" Once someone has more than 10000 of them, it said, "XXX is a god". And thus began the tradition of kicking off a congratulatory thread when someone hit that landmark, although I suspect it doesn't happen for everyone these days. And also Mod seems to have turned that alt-text off at some point. So there's nobody here thinking they're better than everybody else... this is just light-hearted silliness, and should be taken as such.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is a classic non-denial denial. If you pay attention to politics, you'll see them all the time. Note the lack of engagement with the accusation actually made (that of plagiarizing the text of someone else's website). Instead we have a lot of hand-wringing about formatting (irrelevant) and some talk of other people using fake pics, and a statement that all her pics are genuine (also irrelevant). But there's no effort made to deny having copied, wholesale, a snapshot into someone else's personality. I expect to see this sort of thing from the weasels on Parliament Hill; it disappoints me to see it here. It now only remains for us to get a 'mistakes were made' post, and launch a public inquiry that will take years to report before sweeping everything under the carpet and doing nothing because all the players in the drama are long-since retired. Something else to add: the theft of a glimpse into someone's personality is far more devious and insidious than the theft of someone else's pics. After all, the latter is fairly easy to catch; tools like tineye will reveal the original source of the pics and the theft will be obvious to anyone showing up to see the fraudster. But stealing someone's personality... that's far harder to spot. And, to me, far more personal and intimate. Finally: big tip o' the hat to WIT for catching it, and to CK for putting the evidence up there for all to see.

I don't know of much that's very close. ALO have a location on Booth, too. Sensual Erin is in the west end. There are independent ladies downtown (Megan, Jessica and Amelia spring to mind) if you want to go there. As far as ALO and Paradise go (or any other MPs, for that matter), bear in mind that discussion tends to focus on the individual MAs, and they come and go and move around.
