Ottawa pay-by-the-hour hotels???
Phaedrus replied to thisnameworks's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Nothing useful, alas... but I believe that many hotels have a day-rate for rooms, although they tend not to advertize it. There are quite a few reasons why one might want a room or a suite just during the day, and the hotel can then use the same room overnight for a late-arriving guest. But I may be entirely wrong about this - I have no first-hand experience. -
I must admit to being wryly amused by all this 'saving the earth' stuff. The planet doesn't need saving. It was here long before us, and it'll be there long after we're just fossils (if we leave enough to fossilize). The real question is how long *we* will manage to survive before we screw the planet up to the point where we end up in a Malthusian population crash, and how many other species we'll manage to obliterate along the way...

Self-defense is acceptable in most jurisdictions, AFAIK. Anyone who doesn't want to get shot breaking in to someone's home is entirely free to... er... not break in to someone else's home. A tricky one to insist on... you'd have to be a good shot, and cool-headed, to injure someone enough to make them go away without either killing them or not doing enough. And if they're armed too, they don't have to all that alive to shoot you back...

Although this assumes one section per city. The rule would probably need amending if there were two... maybe to just allow two posts per 24 hours, since I imagine that having to remember to come back later would probably be a pain in the ass. Of course, all this assumes that the decision would be made to split things up... but the general reaction so far seems promising.

"Well, don't YOU look like the icing on a fuck cake." Sorry, but it made me laugh... :) I'd love to have this on a t-shirt, although I doubt I'd have the balls to wear it in public...

Yes, that would seem to make sense. I presume it wouldn't be too much of an issue for ladies that offer both to post in both places, especially if their rates are different for each. It must be said that the Ottawa advertizing section gets a pretty rapid turnover of posts, and I suspect that the ladies would be better off having their current ad remain on the first page of the forum for their target audience for longer. Having said that it probably ought to be the ladies that get to decide how ads are handled and segregated (or not) - it's their livelihood we're talking about, after all...

How do you screen good dates from bad
Phaedrus replied to Stunning Tasha's topic in Ottawa Discussion - Escorts
OOI, do you have access to the SP-only section? I'm asking because I think this sort of thing has come up before (can't remember when and too lazy to search, sorry) and IIRC some of the ladies were reluctant to discuss this sort of thing in the public areas of the site. The reason - again, IIRC - was that public discussion of the precautions the ladies take to ensure their own safety would provide information that might be useful to those who would seek to circumvent those safeguards, which would be a Bad Thing. So, you might do better asking this in the SP-only section. I suspect (but don't know, obviously :) ) that you might get better answers to your second question there, too... -
Twins, perhaps? :) There will now be a short pause while I let my imagination go off on its own for a bit...

Puppies,puppies Puppies
Phaedrus replied to Emma Alexandra's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
And the other problem, now, is that many people can't reliably identify a pitbull when they see one (or not)... and so any dog that's a bit aggressive gets accused of being a pitbull whether it is, or isn't, or is a cross with some pitbull in it. And so we end up in a viscious circle of ignorance; all pitbulls are aggressive, therefore all aggressive dogs are pitbulls, therefore... The poor guys just can't win. -
Best Vacation places
Phaedrus replied to Emma Alexandra's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I can't usefully comment on most of this since sitting on the beach really isn't my thing, but I suspect the cheapest time to go is in the run-up to Christmas. Christmas itself is expensive, but just beforehand - when everyone else is panicking over the shopping they haven't done yet and going to parties - is cheap. Too late for this year, of course, but maybe next time... I think round about now is also a fairly cheap time to go - it may be worth hopping on some of the usual websites and see what you can pick up on a last-minute basis, if you aren't committed to anything too far ahead. In fact, if you're flexible on where you go and not too fussy about the resort, the last-minute thing may be a good option anyway - set a week aside and start shopping around a bit beforehand.
