Interesting you should say that: I've always though precisely the opposite. Science has been up its fair share of blind alleys, to be sure, but it's I've always seen it as happy to say, "We don't understand this, but we're working on it," and - crucially - not being afraid to say this. Faith and religion, by contrast, seem to me to consist largely of inventing gods and demons to explain away the things we don't understand: why the sun rises, why the rain falls (or not), why people are amazing or awful or just plain strange. In many of these cases, science has taken over the explanations, and in the others... the God of the Gaps is ever-diminishing.

Is sensuous Full Body Massage Illegal.
Phaedrus replied to Standard Smith's topic in Legal discussion, cases & questions
What you describe doesn't sound like it. First up: most of what LE does has always been, and still seems to be, aimed at trafficking and street workers. Trafficking because it's an obvious problem with several layers of illegality, and street workers because they're far and away the most visible facet of this industry to the general public. Independent providers working indoors are mostly left alone, I think. Second: I don't think stings are anything like as common here as they are in the US. I think many consist of a female cop standing on a street corner; there was one in November where they posted a CL/BP ad, but an important part of that was that the "provider" made it clear she was underage during the booking process. So, again, it's targeted at a certain kind of client. And that's the main point to all of this - what the police go after is either the stuff that people see and complain about, or the stuff where they can look good for catching obvious villains (traffickers, clients looking for under-age action). They know damn well that bringing the hammer down on consenting adults isn't really good publicity. So, to finally get round to the specifics of what you're asking about... I haven't heard of a sting where the police bothered setting up a website; they seem to get enough arrests with BackPage ads and working on the streets. The real answer to your question is to do a bit of research here and perhaps on other boards; if the person you're thinking of seeing has a few reviews or recommendations then you're almost certainly safe (at least, that's always worked for me so far). You could also kick off a thread in the right section on this board to ask about her specifically. Hope that all helps! -
Interviews and information
Phaedrus replied to KerriM's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Is it specific to St Johns, or are you looking for material from people everywhere? -
They probably can't commit to something like that on behalf of someone else, given the number of variables in play. But many of the MAs at spas have accounts here...

The Problem With Autofilter
Phaedrus replied to GoddessHRC's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I must admit, I hate the automated censor too... but the simple fact is that what Mod said about the cost of lawyers and the impact of a zealous LE person who's gone on a mission is true, and unanswerable. As for losing members - my feeling is that that was something that began before the laws changed, and has actually picked up again over the last few months. People come and go (and come back) in this industry all the time, and for all sorts of different reasons. The laws undoubtedly silenced some, but I think other issues - usually unique to each individual - have been more important. Hell, I don't post anything like as much as I used to... -
Johns, not prostitutes to be thrust under microscope in 2016
Phaedrus replied to drlove's topic in In the news
Glad to hear that. It makes sense - if they're going to prosecute someone, it would be necessary to prove that he knew he was going to see someone who was underage. It also makes it pretty easy for guys to avoid it, and quite honestly, I don't have any sympathy for those who didn't. Mind you, I'm not surprised it wasn't in the original article... they're trying to spread fear among all potential clients, even the careful ones, and I have no doubt the omission was deliberate. Of course not. That fact is not compatible with the propaganda. -
Gonorrhea has been steadily acquiring immunity to antibiotics since we started hitting it with Penicillin, so back in the Vietnam era it had probably just become resistant to something else. It has now become immune to almost all antibiotics. But yes, on a more general level, it isn't just gonorrhea that's doing this - many other gram-negative bacteria are also at it (E. coli being the most common). Correct prescription and use of antibiotics is hugely important - there's nothing worse than giving a bug a dose of an antibiotic that doesn't actually kill it, because that gives it a golden opportunity to mutate and evolve resistance to that drug, and that's why there's the emphasis on what doctors and clinics do. But as you say, the levels of antibiotics in livestock are also a huge problem.

"All-inclusive" usually (in Ottawa at least) means there's just one payment. Indies always work this way, and a couple of spas do to. Otherwise, you're looking at paying a door fee, and then a 'tip' to the MA who you spend time with (which is all she gets, so it's not actually a tip). The total is about the same whether it's split up or not. Don't count on getting more than a massage and a manual finish - it happens, but not always. Bear in mind that MAs have chosen not to be escorts. One other thing: if you mention that you found out about the person/spa you're visiting on this board, that will immediately give them a good idea of what you're looking for. And you can always ask up front about things like touching, kissing, etc - that saves misunderstandings later on.

Irina at Vibe hasn't been mentioned yet, and should be.

Yep. The likes of the NSA/CSEC/GCHQ might be able to do it, but it'd be tricky for anyone else. Your SO sure as hell won't be able to. A great advantage of Tails is that as soon as you pull out the USB drive it's on and reboot the machine, everything's gone; you don't have to worry about browser caches or anything else that might be left behind.

From what I've heard/read from various activists, it sounds like this is going to be a mid-term kind of event. That will give them long enough to come up with a workable plan, but will be far enough in advance of the next election that the heat will have gone out of it by then. Of course, that's all hearsay...

Trying to get it on with an underage escort was totally illegal before C36 became law, and will undoubtedly remain so as and when the current laws get revisited. I'm not sure quite why they're trying to spin the story so that it looks like the new laws had something to do with it.

"could" really ought to be replaced by "will be", unless we get serious about coming up with new kinds of antibiotics. And it's not just gonorrhea - there are quite a few other bacteria that are also rapidly evolving resistance to antibiotics.

I must admit, I'm a bit bemused about this, "Client 1 was late and wanted the full booking, so I had to push client 2 back when he showed up on time" thing. Why on earth should the second client suffer because the first can't get his act together? I know, stuff happens, but it really doesn't seem fair to push the consequences of that onto someone who's entirely innocent.

Reluctance towards black friends
Phaedrus replied to Black Panther's topic in Ottawa Discussion - Escorts
The "no black clients" thing has come up in the past: http://www.lyla.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=181140 http://www.lyla.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=162146 http://www.lyla.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=99610 These threads are worth reading, although they've led to some heated discussions; there's a variety of reasons why a provider might do this. But a pre-emptive reminder, if we're going to discuss this again: please keep it civil! -
I like cash, and not just because it's untraceable when I don't want my spending patterns analyzed by governments or big business. I quite often use cash for things like food and drinks when I'm out, purely because the sight of that money disappearing is a reminder of how much you're spending. Plastic is very convenient, but also dangerously painless.

I met Bethany at a social event a while ago, and I'd been meaning to see her ever since. Alas, life got in the way somewhat, but recently I finally managed to get myself over to her incall to meet her... properly :) Bethany is a lovely person, both inside and out. We started off with a shower, which was a lot of fun, and then she gave me a wonderful massage while we chatted. Unfortunately, as things progressed the conversation died out somewhat. Not her fault: I found it increasingly difficult to carry on my end of it because of the... distractions. Okay, maybe it was her fault after all :) In any case, the conversation was replaced by some very slippery bodyslides and then... well, use your imagination. I was then treated to some more massaging to help me... cool down, which was a lovely touch... and then it was off to the shower to clean up, which was just as much fun as the first shower had been. And then, alas, time to go, leaving me with just some awesome memories to keep me going until next time.

Walking Away Gracefully....
Phaedrus replied to EmilyRushton's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Would that be any better? If you're going to be paranoid and believe that everyone you walk past in the hotel is going to somehow know who you're seeing and why you're there, then you're probably also going to believe that all your neighbours will see who's arriving at your house and know exactly why she's visiting. If your head's messed up then this won't be fun for anyone, however you do it. -

Walking Away Gracefully....
Phaedrus replied to EmilyRushton's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Ugh. Sorry to hear you went through this, Emily. I must say, though... having re-read the OP a couple of times, it really strikes me that what we have here sounds like a first-time client who's just nervous as hell, really not sure how these things are supposed to go, not handling a stressful situation at all well, and just digging the hole deeper every time he panics a bit more. "It's been a while" may have meant, "... since I last got lucky" rather than ".. since I last saw an escort"; it's not obvious to me that it makes him a liar, although obviously I wasn't there and don't know what was said or how. Hopefully this guy has learned that seeking paid companionship is really not what's right for him, and won't do it again (at least, until/unless he sorts his head out). -
what's your opinion?
Phaedrus replied to 50 Shades Raven's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I'd imagine you'd still get all the questions, and all the tire-kicking, but the kind of client who likes to do some research before ever making contact would be unlikely to call. I'd almost certainly ignore it, unless I had a compelling reason not to (e.g. lots of recommendations, or something). -
Massages. Plenty of nudity, a happy ending (hands only), but if you go expecting any more than that, prepare for disappointment. Same for Angels/Paradise, if you were looking at them too. On this site, that applies to anyone who's advertizing in a "Massage" forum, as opposed to an "Escort" one. Can't really help you much on your specific request, I'm afraid... there aren't many 6' escorts of any body type! Kaydence Kox is tall and visits sometimes from Toronto, so you could look out for her ads (although she was here last week, so you may have to wait a bit).
