Hi Jabba, It is definitely a summary of the findings and comparison to other studies - nothing too in-depth here. However, what I found encouraging was the fact that a distinction between different sorts of "clients" was recognized. That is, we are not either just multi-millionaire sports figures on one hand or desperate criminals on the other. I was also pleased to see some acceptance of the possibility that men who pay for sex are not all psychologically damaged or dangerous in some way. Not all of us, anyway.

I would probably not leave a voicemail (whether personal message or automated) unless it was a provider I had used before and I was sure of the number. I would call back. This is not off-putting to me at all. We can't always answer our phones.

Well, The Guardian is a reputable British broadsheet but this is wrong on many levels. The Beatles may have re-invented pop music in the 60s and 70s but the total was always much greater than the sum of the individual parts. I didn't have much time for any of their solo careers (well, maybe John) but in particular I haven't paid any attention to Paul since he became a clone of Angela Lansbury (seriously, has anyone ever seen them together in the same room?). To substitute a cheeky Scouser for a tormented grunge artist does NOT work.

I think it's hilarious that all the profanity in Italian is multi-syllabic. In English, fuck is an expletive - Fuck! The Italians want lots of syllables to work (or play) with while they are swearing. Aren't cultural differences fascinating? :)

In general I don't use profanity a great deal but sometimes it is the only thing that has the proper effect. I can admire somebody who can swear creatively. There was a British sitcom called "In the Thick of It" with a character called Malcolm Tucker. He could let loose with a stream of bile so foul it would make your eyes water. You can see some of his work on YouTube if you search for 'Malcolm Tucker". Honestly, a trucker would blush.

It's curious. For somebody who is a self-proclaimed atheist, I tend to call on God quite a bit in the heat of the moment. Fortunately, He doesn't seem to be paying any attention to me.

After the blinding nerves of my first encounter and the much more normal events of the second encounter (both with the same provider) I was having a much better time. We were relaxed in each other's company, had exchanged personal information incidentally in the course of our conversations and had established a relationship which resembled the beginnings of friendship. When we met for the third time it felt a bit different from the start. The slight sense of reserve I had sensed in my companion was gone. After we caught up with each other's lives the session started in earnest and took on a life of its own. Boundaries which had been carefully established were crossed - and I wasn't the one instigating things. It was a very intense experience for me and seemed to be satisfying for my companion. I understood that what had happened was a result of the establishment of some trust and, dare I say it, affection between us. I also sensed that I should never expect something like this to happen again, even with the same provider. Don't get me wrong - I never for a moment imagined my provider was even remotely 'falling for me' or that our relationship could ever move beyond provider and client. However, within those boundaries we had become comfortable and we trusted each other. I think this is the session that established me as a client who prefers to find providers with whom I 'click' and then see them regularly. On occasion, something like I described above happens and it is magic. Most of the time I just have a wonderful time with a beautiful woman who I like very much and I leave a happy and contented man.
