I'm curious - what's all the talk of marshmellows about? -

You know you're old when you remember looking down the 50 foot deep hole where the CN tower's foundation was going to be poured and then many months later seeing this: -
Just call me retarded!

- a lap top with a good battery life and one that doesn't decrease in life-span over time (is that even possible with any laptop?) All batteries will decrease their storage capacity over time - the laws of physics at work. The main factor affecting usage time on battery is the screen size and brightness - Bigger screen = less working time. Brighter screen = less working time. - I'll mostly be using it for CERB and also for school assignments (don't know if that's a relevant piece of information) Anything you can buy will be more than capable of doing anything you need. -If possible I would like a laptop with lots of disk space External storage is an option if you need tons of storage, or you can upgrade the hard drive in most machines for not a lot of money. Walmart has a Segate 1.5 TB external drive on sale for $88. -Lasts me in good condition for about 5 or so years? Just don't drop it - that is the main cause of failure. -oh and also of great importance is that i don't want it to be too heavy as I will have to carry it to and from school almost daily. For weight and battery time, the "NetBook" class of machines fit the bill (I use one for those exact reasons), the screen size is only 10.1", but on the run it meets my needs. The (extended capacity) battery lasts 8 to 10 hours. You can get an extra battery if you really need one. You can connect most any laptop to a full size desktop monitor and keyboard when you are at home. The HP mini has a keyboard that is large enough to still be able to touch type on. In a nutshell, but the cheapest name brand machine you can find that has the screen size you would like - it will be more than you need. Walmart has several on sale. I hope this helps!

I used to rush home for from school some beaver every day! Remember when the dirtiest thing ever said on TV was "Ward, you were a little hard on the beaver last night". -

This reminds me of the stories you hear about a guy that calls in sick to go to a baseball game and is shown on TV catching a pop fly. If you don't want to do the time, don't do the crime :) -
For guys who have prosopagnosia (face blindness), a condition that affects as many as 2% of the population, a different hair colour combined with a different outfit will make you into a completely different woman. Sort of the Clark Kent / Superman or Miley Stewart / Hanna Montana thing. After a bit of conversation normally sorts things out. There is a case where a guy was chatting up the girl sitting next to him on a plane, and after 30 minutes he clued in that it was his sister. It's amazing what effect a change in hair colour can have on some people!

Great point! The world is really a very small place. I almost always run into someone I know. And these days everyone has a camera or two with them, and they post their photos and videos on the web for all to see. Many resorts also now have photographers snapping photos of everyone all day long, and post them so you can pick which shots you would like to buy. There is a good chance your SO will visit the resorts website to find shots with you in them. -
I'm starting to like tennis:

You know you're old when this was your scientific calculator: -
This belongs in the jokes section, but I couldn't resist: A brunette, a redhead and a blonde walk down a beach when suddenly the brunette discovers a magic lamp. The brunette rubs the lamp and POOF! a magic genie appears. The genie tells the girls that he will grant them three wishes, so each girl will have a turn. The redhead goes first and tells the genie that she's always been really smart and she is sick of being teased, so she asks the genie to make her just semi-smart. Suddenly the redhead is turned into a brunette. Next, the brunette takes her turn. She tells the genie that she has always just been sort of smart and she wants to be really smart. Suddenly the brunette becomes a redhead. Finally, it's the blonde's turn. She thinks for a minute and then tells the genie that she's always been dumb and she's tired of being dumb. The blonde says that she wants to be really dumb. Suddenly, the blonde becomes a man!

Remember the KISS system: Keep It Simple Stupid. The more detailed you make it, the more likely you'll screw up. You could offer to take your SO on a trip right after your business trip to make up for her not being able to accompany you on the business trip. -

You know you're old when you can remember that none of the toys you had as a kid used batteries. -
Congratulations! It's too early on a Monday for me to think of anything cleaver to add, but WIT's type of sand castle is the type I'd like to see on the beach.

Don't hide there all alone - remember, there's safety in numbers!

Facebook or CERB?

Me neither! -
I don't think it's age, or at least I hope not! Something else must be happening off camera, there is no way watching toy boats is more interesting that watching what's behind them.

I second the motion. Can I see a show of hands of all those in favour? All opposed? -
