  1. This is the Best Song for today: #SexWorkerPride #RedUmbrella
  2. Just bumping this thread up because today is the day: Sex Worker Pride Thanks to Lydia for posting this thread and also thanks to my many friends from Ottawa Independent Companions, OIC, who have the day flagged on their lovely calendar. I'm heading out to purchase a Red Umbrella and do a few passes in front of the Supreme Court of Canada holding it above me in solidarity with Sex Workers. #decriminalization #sexworkerrightsarehumanrights Given there's negligible chance of rain today in Ottawa I will hope to be stopped and asked why I'm doing this by passersby.
  3. Sex Workers, and I know quite a few, are the most supportive, caring and thoughtful people I know. I send my support, care, thoughts and love right back at them!
  4. This is a very important and thoughtful topic to introduce RG. Like you, I've 'pre-booked and payed' for a couple of visits for post covid-19 times, when and if they arrive. I'm leaning towards arranging some 'physically distanced' social outings with some favourites: meeting for an outdoor coffee, glass of wine on a patio or a stroll through one of the many parks and pathways here in Ottawa. Social visits are awesome too. I've been for a couple of massage sessions where the MA or club have clearly spelled out their protocol for managing mutual safety and where masks were in use. Both sessions were with ladies I knew and in the case of the spa she came in to visit with me and a few of her regulars. When I'm ready for more intimate visits I will arrange with ladies I know from Lyla who are ready and willing to host - protocols in place, limited clients etc. I'm operating with an abundance of caution due to underlying health issues. In the meantime I haven't reduced my 'entertainment' budget - it's important to support your friends and any local SW organisations.
  5. I'm posting from Ottawa so no direct personal information to offer but I can recommend going to the NS recommendation section for good information. I can recommend you review the local ads posted by Lyla members - you'll get a great indication of you is a good fit for you from reviewing the lady's posts and participation here.
  6. I initially posted this 'seconding' of a nomination by @JessyCeleste in the August member of the month thread instead of this September thread but here it is simply copied and pasted. Probably Jessy will move her initial nomination over here too. Regardless you'll get the point: I will gladly second @JessyCeleste nomination of @roamingguy for all the reasons she identified. His recent interview with @lydiahardwood is a definitive example of his unwavering support for the Lyla community and, without reservation, the SWs who post here. He sets a great example for the gents we want to see on this platform and wish to see visiting and posting on it frequently. He leads by positive example and that is critically important.

  8. Whisky Tango Foxtrot - before you know it they'll be suggesting condoms????
  9. Well GT I realize you won't see this post but I hope you fare well replacing Lyla in your life. The issues are related to monetizing this website - free to post/advertise, free to join, free to peruse - it will require some engagement by members to help maintain the positive approach here. I usually receive a note of appreciation from a mod when I take the time to identify an inappropriate post - no, I don't report them all, simply the most egregious ones. I just ignore the stupid goofy ones - they're usually a one and only post. It costs money to keep people fulfilling the role of moderators. It's not that hard for each of us to help out and keep this platform, that many of us enjoy, a better space.
  10. I can attest to the quality and appreciation of Kilt Boy"s whisky rocks - I"ve given many as gifts, all greatly appreciated by the recipient, especially my geologist pals. As one who enjoys his whisky neat and undiluted by melted ice they 'rock my world'. Lydia: if it turns out that your comment has ruined my enjoyment of my next bottle of Talisker I'm sending you the bill! I have yet to savor a delicious house fire.....
  11. I caution against admitting this publicly. Chain mail coming your way. Of course it could be the kind you wear while sacrificing this virgin.... it'll all work out.
  12. Is this exhibition also hosted in Berland County or are these folks simply exhibitionist?
  13. A member here who always could put a smile on my face and a positive force both here and the socials. He will be missed and always appreciated and respected by many members here. Have to admit I hope it was his heart and not covid-19 that took him.... RIP Old Dog.
  14. I think you're very likely correct. I also agree that this could happen anywhere. The greater issues here are: 1. the large number of people involved; again it may also happen elsewhere, but with other mitigation procedures in place, and 2. the challenges for contract tracing in this situation which are exacerbated by the stigma associated with patrons and employees alike.
  15. Posted some other links to this story in the 'General Discussion/In the news section". Gotta hope this doesn't happen in Ottawa. But we all know what hope gets you: hope and older.
  16. Just saw this on twitter and it was on the local CBC news at 4:30 https://twitter.com/search?q=Brass Rail&src=trend_click As it's twitter there is a bit of 'shaming' going on too. The employee last worked about 5 days ago so this will be an extremely challenging contact tracing task.
  17. LOL, my bad - It\s always wise to identify what is being spread! :)
  18. Boom! Notch! Liked 'em both before Greenteal and Wynn!
  19. Remember that accuracy and precision ore two different things. I've heard that rectal temperatures address both of these but I hate the taste of those thermometers :)
  20. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datsun_510#/media/File:Datsun_1600_(14951295867).jpg My dream car is rather pedestrian, at best, but it was my first and could time-transport me back to high school even now, lol, Mine was a '71 Datsun 510, aka the poor man's BMW, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datsun_510 It could hold 9 people and all their ski gear (don't tell my dad). It spent the last 6 months of it's life sitting in an unharvested corn field with it's back window smashed out - we were using it haul logs from the back 40 for firewood. In April of '81 it started up first try; I drove it to the wreckers and it clicked over the 280,000 mile mark on the way there. Many fond memories and close calls.
  21. Good news RG! Having hung around a sport/orthopedic physio I've overheard her giving advice to folks who are both pre and post knee replacement. (All three of my kids see her, along with most of their national teammates and dad sits in the waiting area, lol) Get as strong as you can in preparation for surgery. Don't want to cause further damage but see your physio for an exercise program. Purchase a cryocuff for post surgery treatment - maybe good for pain management for pre surgery. Again, ask your physio. There are small pedal devices for working on range of motion while seated. Surgery is no silver bullet but with preparation and hard work you'll have the best outcome possible. Best wishes and happy fishing!
  22. I'm from Ontario so I can't comment. You may get some info it you go to the home page, scroll down to the Province the ad is from, i.e. PEI and post your question there. For me the provincial links haven't been working so I just click on the most recent post for the given province listed to the right and then navigate back to the province/city/area in question. If she travels in the Maritimes you may need to seek info in multiple provinces. Good luck!
