  1. My first job was at a small town cafe when I was fifteen. It was ideal in that I only worked thursday nights and saturday day shifts during the school year. Those two shifts a week gave me just enough for beer and records and still allowed for plenty of time to goof off with friends. Unfortunately, come summertime it was a different story! Suddenly I was working full time hours and getting called in on my days off because the so called "adults" would either call in "sick" or just stop showing up to work all together. the turnover in that place was unreal, even by service industry standards! Job prospects were slim and management put up with me so I wound up staying there right up til I graduated high school and moved away.
  2. Ooh, fun! As a young child I was in the same boat as 2Legit who posted about wanting to be a garbage man. With some of the places and bosses I've formerly worked for in the restaurant biz I sometimes wonder if said places/bosses had the same dream and never quite grew out of it? Which is why I refer to them as being in the FORMER category As I grew older, and testosterone started to play a larger role, I decided I should be a professional wrestler. Seems my intelligence may have peaked as a pre-pubescent, at least I got hair in strange places out of the deal! As I have grown as an adult I have decided that I should not let my career or chosen profession define me as much as it has in the past. I doubt I'll stay in the same field, but it'll do for now
  3. Scotch and bacon wrapped pretty much anything. You're welcome ;)
  4. Well, I had just finished watching the movie Surf Nazis Must Die! for about the 20th time, and I figured not only would the handle be fun and silly, but also not yet taken ;)
  5. Music, Performing, Food These three things definitely get me out of bed in the morning :)
  6. Just got home from running errands, the pants are off, time to relax and enjoy a day off :)
  7. In no particular order: Charlottetown Downtown is beautiful, the people are friendly, you can learn a bit of history, plus the Churchill Arms has fantastic grub! Tofino, BC As a young adult, I had the opportunity to take surfing lessons there years ago. The hostel was beautiful and located right by the water, plus there was gorgeous scenery everywhere. This place holds many fond memories of a time when I got to adventure and explore more than I do now. Plus, y'know, surfing! :D Ottawa Plenty of sights, rad architecture and history, the market district, plus some family and old friends live out that way. It's also where a beautiful and patient lady gave a very nervous newcomer a kickass introduction to the world of companions :) Winnipeg I know, it's cold, it's rough around the edges, and it's in the middle of a floodplain that can make things dicey at times, but it's home. If you aren't happy where you live, why do you live there? A place I would love to visit is Quebec City, I have a feeling it would wind up on this list :)
  8. d00d! some of these gave me freaky beetlejuice flashbacks. I'm not sure if that's got me stoked, or in store for a sleepless night ;)
  9. Dang! This is a thread that I saw earlier, and have avoided... It's tough to pick a top five and equally tough to explain/justify my choices. I guess the explanation should come first. Quite simply, RIFFS Give me riffs and I am happy. I am attracted to music that gives me a visceral, immediate reaction. I want something that gets the blood pumping, my head banging, and my face muscles contracting into a joyous cheshire perma-grin. These guitar players do that. I shall provide specific axe-amples. Opinions are fun eh? ;) 1. Dave Mustaine. He wrote Killing is my business... And business is good! You did not. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvlkw32qW8M 2. Jeff Hanneman. Angel of death. That is all http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNnaRHqtrDQ 3. Jeff Waters. Seriously, why isn't Annihilator WAY more popular??? THey also transitioned into a modern sound with rad melodies without too much pain, two links are required :p http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVl1gH4l4tM 4. Spike Cassidy. The man who reconciled punk rock and metal for me. Dang I love me some crossover! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nn5Q_dLdxJE 5. Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein. Both classic Misfits and Re-incarnated, he always brought something for me to sink my teeth into! Special mention to Jason Becker. Dude hasn't let illness stop him from shredding :)
  10. A few Winston Churchill quotes my mother had posted on the fridge when she was ill come to mind, "Never, never, never give up" "If you're going through hell, keep going" Best of luck to you man. May you find strength and happiness wherever you can
  11. Good thread Jody! I may ramble a bit on this one, but let's start by answering the question Yes. I have dated a woman like this before. It was a bit of a roller coaster, and ended badly. I have no hard feelings though, she is an awesome person and shit loads of fun to be around, we recently reconnected and are friends to this day. Because seriously, who doesn't wanna hang out with a funny, gregarious girl who can keep up just fine with the boys and make a killer meal on top of everything? Now as far as the traits you are asking about, I most definitely cuss like a sailor, drink like a fish, and cook like a pro. However, I would rather avoid fights and my humping abilities are nobody's business except mine and any lady I share time with ;) Now, am I a bad boy? I would say no. I may cuss, drink and cook with the best of them, but I am well aware that there is a time and a place to let these traits out to play, so to speak. I am also too much of a believer in the golden rule to ever screw around with a woman's emotions. So ladies, though we may look it, not all of us are truly bad boys or jerks. Just regular dudes who march a bit off to the fringes sometimes ;) One final bit, Jody has basically described almost every cook/chef I have ever met. Kitchen folk are generally pleasure seekers of the highest order and live life full speed ahead :chug:
  12. GO JETS GO!! I am cautiously optimistic about their playoff chances this year. It won't be a pretty season, but they'll sneak into the first round. A second round appearance is doubtful though ;)
  13. I've been spinning a ton of Judas Priest lately. Halford's vocal range makes me happy :)
  14. A family member or loved one in trouble is never fun, so sorry to hear you're having to face such a crappy event. Best of luck and take care!
  15. Why hasn't anyone else posted dancing Turkeys yet??
