Yesterday was actually one of the greatest experiences I've had. I personally like to ensure that the lady has a great time as well while we are together but this took the cake. It can be hard to tell if the SP is working through an agency or independent. Some agencies are really fly-by-nighters and will say anything to get the ladies some business. That's not something I'd hold against the ladies, some are great providers. Of the independents it can be difficult to tell. I go a lot by how the person sounds and comes across on the phone and I quickly get a gut feeling about whether I'd like the lady or not. Ultimately the choice is yours.

The hardest part of the entire journey to sobriety / recovery is admitting to yourself that you have a problem and reaching out to someone for assistance. We always feel ashamed that something has gotten the better of us and that we need reach out for assistance. We totally forget all of the humiliation for the many things we may have done on the road to where we are now. I am not proud of the things I have done but they have helped sustain me by reminding me where I was as compared to how things are now. I don't broadcast my sobriety but neither do I hide it. For me I subscribe to the one day at a time, I'm sober for today, yesterday was yesterday and tomorrow is tomorrow, we'll see how tomorrow goes when it arrives. When I first quit it took about 2 years of occasional relapses before the import and understanding of living for today took hold. Initially I was thinking "OMG all those years a head of me without" and this made sobriety 10X harder. The worst part had to be the vivid dream of having a few drinks after I was sober for 6 months, then spending half the day convinced that I'd relapse. We all shared a really good laugh over that one at the meeting that night. Lets see, it's been, hmmm, almost 23 years now for me. I actually never remember the actual length of time, I have to figure it out. All part of living in today as part of sobriety.

Following on the article posted on the iPhone keeping GPS logs of where you go, below is link a PC World article in which they have named various smart phone and their apps that listen in on what is happening without the user knowing. They call this a feature :icon_lol: and seems to be available for iPhones and Android phones. Your phone is listening Its kind of scary to know that our phones could be transmitting what it picks up around it. These companies are using the information for more targeted advertising and who knows what else. It's really getting to be an Orwellian world out there :-( I almost want to keep my phone off and only turn my phone on when I need to use it. Sorry to hear of your misadventures Manitoba. As with you I get quickly put off of a person if it is difficult to get a hold of them. I always take into consideration the time of day, their posted hours, etc. If a couple attempts over several hours when they say they are available yield no response I generally will not contact that person again as it leaves me with poor impression. Where I am I try to use several resources to determine if the person I am thinking of contacting is on the up-and-up to try and avoid Manitoba's type problems as well as just bad SPs. I've had a few cancellations but generally due to acceptable reasons, even a couple after arrival as Mme Nature visits early or something. Personally I prefer to speak to the lady as I can generally get a good idea quickly whether the ultimate encounter will be thoroughly satisfactory to me. Sometimes when talking with someone or agency I quickly get there is something not 100% here and I move on. With more and more people using the impersonal means of contact (texting, e-mail) we are forgetting that it is the first impression that is a lasting impression. I find with e-mails & texts it impossible, even with recommendations, to determine if the SP would be the type of person I'd like or if upon arrival I can't wait to leave.

I'd have to agree that cash is the only way. Due to the somewhat underground nature of the business the "client" would have almost no idea who they are providing the CC information to. Agreeably most of the ladies would be reputable and not rack up other charges, but there is always someone who may take advantage of the information, especially if they have the numbers on the back of the card. I think it'd be really difficult trying to explain to VISA / MC how this unknown person obtained the CC details... :icon_redface:

There are really some fantastic recipes up! going to try a few this week. I'm the type of cook that drives my friends and family crazy. I use recipes generally only as a guide making additions and substitutions whenever I make something. Often people are surprise at how things turn out. Baking is a little different though and one needs to really be careful what changes are made always thinking of mixing tastes and the impacts on the end result. For example when making bread I've found that some of the preservatives in fruits or nuts will stop the yeast from rising so have to rinse things before hand. Other times flour consistency can impact how much something will or will not rise so I've learned to be heavy or light handed depend. Again thanks to all for the recipes and hope I don't put on 5 lbs this week. Oh well, more jogging...

I'd seen Mercedez last weekend as well and thoroughly enjoyed our time together. On the YMMV aspect with the ladies, generally if you treat people right they'll do the same for you, if the chemistry is there, some times it isn't for her or for us and that needs to be respected.
