Question about clients who are sick
CristyCurves replied to Hoppinhorny's topic in Health & Wellness
I would hope no one would be that inconsiderate. As that would put the sp, at least myself in the awkward position of having to ask him to leave. That is if it were obvious. We obviously need our health to do our job and being resonsible I wouldn't work until I wasn't contagious. Hobbyists should do the same. What if I needed to work because of up coming plans or for any reason. No one can be that horny that they couldn't wait and if they were, use your hand. -
Valentine memories
CristyCurves replied to Fresh start's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I'm not much of a romantic. So alot of my valentines days are spent like many others. When I am seeing someone, going out to dinner and some good sex is usually the norm. I would just like to say thank you to you Empty for sharing your touching story. I appreciate you being so open and am sorrry for the pain you had. Bless your heart. -
Which songs give you goosebumps?

The first one that comes to mind is AT LAST by a young Etta James. -
Are you a fan? Quebec just introduced a ban for those under 18, in Nova Scotia it is for those under 19yrs. On the news they said they cause the most damage for those under 35.At one time i was using sunbeds almost daily, I was certainly tanned, now if I want color I just use tanning creams, what is your method of tanning if any? I just wonder if pale skin is more envogue now as I'm frequently complimented on my milky coloring.

Religion and this industry.
CristyCurves replied to a topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Religions Religions Religion can be explained as a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, especially when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs. Featured religions and beliefs [--] [--] [--] [--] [--]Atheism Atheists are people who believe that god or gods are man-made constructs. [--]Baha'i One of the youngest of the world's major religions. [--]Buddhism A way of living based on the teachings of Siddhartha Gautama. [--] [--] [--] [--] [--]Candomblé A religion based on African beliefs, originating in Brazil. [--]Christianity The world's biggest faith, based on the teaching of Jesus Christ. [--]Hinduism A group of faiths rooted in the religious ideas of India. [--] [--] [--] [--] [--]Islam Revealed in its final form by the Prophet Muhammad. [--]Jainism An ancient philosophy and ethical teaching that originated in India. [--]Jehovah's Witnesses A Christian-based evangelistic religious movement. [--] [--] [--] [--] [--]Judaism Based around the Jewish people's covenant relationship with God. [--]Mormonism The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. [--]Paganism Contemporary religions usually based on reverence for nature. [--] [--] [--] [--] [--]Rastafari A young religion founded in Jamaica in the 1930s. [--]Santeria Afro-Caribbean syncretic religion originating in Cuba. [--]Shinto Japanese folk tradition and ritual with no founder or single sacred scripture. [--] [--] [--] [--] [--]Sikhism The religion founded by Guru Nanak in India in the 15th Century CE. [--]Spiritualism Spiritualists believe in communication with the spirits of people who have died. [--]Taoism An ancient tradition of philosophy and belief rooted in Chinese worldview. [--] [--] [--] [--] [--]Unitarianism An open-minded and individualistic approach to religion. [--]Zoroastrianism One of the oldest monotheistic faiths, founded by the Prophet Zoroaster. Heres something I found online that explains a bit about some religions. However what you are speaking about to me appears to be more about manners than religion. I myself am a believer in god/jesus, however I'm not paricularly religious. Most in the christian faith would say living this type of lifestlyle would be considered sinful. It was explained to me to be a christian, you have to believe in god and except him into your heart, and live a life that honors him. As far as other religions, I don't know anything about them but Buddism does interest me.We all have too live our lives in a way we can except and that is conducive to those around us. -
I found this post very interesting as on another thread or comment posted about a year ago or so, I had reiterated the same comments about professional photos and the responses were not favorable. Any how as someone who has been given a second chance of course I will say she too deserves one and as alot of members commented on my last thread-no one knows what goes on in anothers mind or what is behind their actions . We all have a story and it sounds like perhaps there is more to be told. But in the end it is up to the mod to make the decision. I do find it funny how some here are willing to forgive some wrong doings but not when it comes to pictures. As a hobbyist I believe it's your job to screen your sp before visiting just as it's our job to screen our clients before we allow them to visit with us. I don't believe any site can guarantee anyones credibilty.

Response to Contacts
CristyCurves replied to hniconcbc's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I would say within 24hrs is reasonable if you follow the contact protocol the sp provides. As my web page indicates when I'm away I don't respond at all until my return. I don't check voice mails or emails, thats my private time so no business. We all have to keep in mind however emergencies, unexpected incidences, company, ect, ect can cause one to fall behind too. So if one wants to meet a particular provider sometimes patience and understanding is needed. -

Sorry to hear about your accident, best wishes, heal well and quickly. -
I haven't looked at any of your ads but if you don't perhaps you could specify in your ads that you except texts and calls only, and that pm's will be responded to within a certain time frame.:icon_biggrin:Unfortunately that still won't guarantee that some will comply but there is never any reason for either party to display rudeness. I post in all my ads please no texts but still get inundated with them daily. I guess for some this method, texting is just easier and perhaps thats the case on this site when it come to pm'ing. I also think some just feel pm'ing through this site to be safer, more discreet. Good luck.

Flight to Caribbean Diverted Due To Smoking Family
CristyCurves replied to roamingguy's topic in In the news
I would certainly be pissed off if I were a passenger. I think they should have to cover the costs. We all know now that flying is not like it used to be and getting into a fight with an attendant is never going to get you far. They should have known better, What an example they set for their son. -
Wait, that will be me one day, lol. I love her ad the best one I read in a while. I too give her kudo's and best wishes. In the US they seem to be busting alot of people off that particular site. Thats the 4th one I've heard of recently. I wonder if they'll do that here soon. Makes me a little nervous.

Responsibility
CristyCurves replied to CristyCurves's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Cat perhaps you are right I may see things through a jaded filter. To much volunteer work, seeing to many abused dogs, cats and the like. Perhaps this has made me some what synical as well. I understand and appreciate that you would care to take the time to explain this to me, it means alot. I'm not sure if I can change, become more understanding, excepting or if I even want to. I don't see people as being mostly good. I do think there is good in some but not all. I also believe most people look out for themselves and will walk over anyone to get it. I am always surprised when someone says or does something kind for me-always. I give you a great amount of credit for not being like myself as you seem to have far more reason to be, having gone through what you have gone through. When I was younger I was more like you, I was more excepting and thought everyone was my friend and were good. That everyone would help if someone needed help, I was so niave. It's funny how we change with age. I guess our personality, how we are raised, experiences, who we associate with all plays into how we become who and what we are, how we see and treat others. As much as I want to understand why people do what they do, perhaps I am unable too. Mr. Crufty- thank you I appreciate what you have said as well, thank you for taking the time. -
Responsibility
CristyCurves replied to CristyCurves's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
A little unfair I think and yet you presume to know what is in my heart and mind and take a shot at me. You only want action towards those that personally harm you, well those that take advantage do harm you, me and everyone else. Cat what would ever get changed if we all sat back and only took action when the fight was a personal one? I'm curious when it does becomes personal are still going to be empathetic towards that person . Are you going to want to know the persons history, story or are you going to want them to be accountable and responsible for their actions? Lets say your father worked hard and it took him a large part of his life to buy a store, he does and runs it working in it daily. Some guy walks into that store and shoots your father, sadly your father dies. Are you going to want to know that guys story are you going to feel bad for him because hes had a tough road or are you going to want him to be accountable and responsible for his actions. Yes I've taken it to another extreme but still my point-if someone committs an offense where do you draw the line. You can't excuse eveyone just because they came from hardship or have issues. This isn't about judgement it's about getting people to be responsible. Welfare fraud and unemployment fraud is an offense . Those that commit it need to be held responsible for doing so. So heres what I get from some that have responded. We need to be more understanding towards all people on social assitance and unemployment insurance, no one wants to be in that situation. We shouldn't judge those who are ripping off the systems because they've had it rough, fallen on hard times perhaps have had a bad childhood and deserve a break. That I need to be more understanding and emathetic towards them. 1.wanting people to be responsible and accountable has nothing to do with being judgemental or bitter. 2. some here profess to be understanding and empathetic but have no problem throwing me under the bus or taking a pot shot at me when I gave a genuinely kind compliment. 3. Some have said you can't know whats in someones heart or mind. Yet you presume to know what is going on in the minds of those who get welfare and unemployment. 4.I have found in threads such as these there is always someone wanting to be a hero and save the hard done for. But when the harddone slap them hard the hero is not so understanding. 5.I will never speak for all, never. Howcould I so I won't presume to know all. I will say I don't belive all have had hardships, strife or abuses. I belive some go through life with little trouble. This has something to do with being responsible for your actions. Educating yourself, following rules and laws and being responsible. 6.everywhere there are rules, laws and lines we have to follow and not cross. When you do cross them or break them you have to be accountable and responsible. If you want to separate the offenders becase of their circumstances and backgrounds, thats your business, you'll be very busy. I just want people to be more responsible thats my business. I am truly thankful and appreciative of those who invested their time in this thread. I stayed away from cattiness, snideness and being condescending. I wish some of you did. -

Thank you Cat. You are obviously a very insightful, intelligent, kind and experienced woman, I thank you for sharing and honor your struggle. You spoke-eloquently, I might add, about those you've met, had dealings with, ect. As am I. However I don't find easy to sit behind my computer to discuss such topics. Nor is it easy to understand but I do try. I have never judged a person by their appearence, never. As I know some of the good don't fall into typical molds. But I will never feel empathy for those who knowingly take advantage of those willing to bust their behinds doing the right thing. When I see abuses I call those who commit them abusers, why they do,not sure, that is energy I will not waste. Should I be more empathetic towards them, perhaps. But when they commit their offenses do you think they feel for my struggles? Do you think when they take that they stop and think well this may effect him or her-probably not. We are all flawed, but not all are honest or try to be, nor has all of those who take advantage struggled, or encountered strife, abuse ect. Some just like to take advantage and not accept responsibility. It is those who I spoke of. I too am glad we have what we do. -
Responsibility

No actually I didn't rhetorically ask. I said they( meaning those who take advantage of the systems). The statement wasn't as you seemed to want to portray it. The statement was and I'll explain it just for you-why should I have to pay for those( those being people who have the same opportunities and abilities as I-meaning if they WANTED to -but instead choose not to work or get an education-instead they CHOOSE to milk the systems-) why should my tax dollars pay for THEM/THEY/THOSE. If you want to support them-fine, thats your business. These people aren't the less fortunate they are THOSE who have learned to play the systems-WHO ARE STEALING and have no problem doing so. They aren't less fortunate just less honest! The comparison you've made is nonsensical. As RG said we all pay taxes to have roads fixed, doctors paid, schools built, ect, ect.Thats part of our system. This thread isn't about who is right and wrong so please don't turn it into that. I posed a question concerning -SOME-as I said before neither you or I know exactly how many abuse or take advantage of the systems. Yet it seems to be only myself(between you and I) who is willing to admit I don't know the numbers. You seem to be stuck on insisting that I'm wrong-period-. But that is your opinion and I thank you again for it:icon_biggrin: -

Realistically none of us know the statistics concerning the amount of abuse or abusers. At least no one has come forward with that info yet. So to say it's a myth or that it isn't widespread, wouldn't that be a blanket statement?Surmising? and inaccurate.I have said that it happens, how much, I'm not sure, never said I knew but even a little is to much, ask somone who is affected by it. Those who work in social services, the police force, fire department, ect. they all take even a little abuse quite seriously and would never say well others here and others there are doing it as well. To justify one wrong by saying others are doing wrongs doesn't negate it's offence or affects on others. Scott, I appreciate your opinion but those that abuse systems shouldn't have advocates nor am I picking on anyone. On a last note if people are committing the above offenses you mention how could they then be lawabiding? -

A myth? okay.Thank you for your opinion. So those who I have met were an illusion? Tell some of my relatives and others who come into contact , because of their positions, with some of these people that they are believing in myths and seeing illusions. These truths maybe hard to believe or stomach but it doesn't discount their existence. You speak of one person, personally I have know more than a few. Those I have known paid 250 a month for their apartment, had all the tech gadjets, big screen tv's wore designer clothes as did their kids and drove newer cars.Wore nice jewlery and were able to buy any type of food they felt like eating at the time. A myth, no, but neither the majority. The system is broken and abused and you too should be angered as it is those like you have met and that Lee has mentioned(those that use it correctly and who truly need it) that are sometimes turned away, because of those who I am speaking about. On another note perhaps somone could make some points of view on the pet issue as I'm far more educated and informed about that issue:) -

Thank you Fred. This is a discussion not an argument so all points of view are welcome. So we should be able to openly and in a friendly manner discuss without calling out posts or statements as ridiculous, wrong or misguided. I am speaking from experience and yes, about those who are supplementing their income. That is perfectly clear in the initial post. Wether or not you believe it is your choice. I am also very well aware of what one gets when on welfare and what they pay for their public housing. It is maddening especiaslly when some of these mothers move in there employed bf's and work a job under the table to support their 1,2,and 3 kids.Yes this to may be ridiculous in your mind but it happpens alot and often. Please inform us also how you know Emily's if statistics are wrong. I will also add I don't think Lee's statement was a blanket one he was speaking of those-remember-those- who take advantage of the systems. Welfare and unemployment-these are the systems that are spoken of in this thread. I don't remember anyone saying the whole system or all it's recipients. I mean we all can elaborate and include other systems, sectors and occupations. But that is not the point of this thread nor was it for me to judge. When I ask someone why it's is because I want to know or want an explanation-to understand. But if you see it as judging so be it. You are as we all are entitled to your opinion. -
Would you agree that we all have a responsibility to take care of ourselves, our children, our pets, our planet. I mean without it where would we live? Well then why do some feel it's not their resposibility to support themselves-educating themselves or working so they can be independent. You know those who think the welfare and unemployment systems were set up to provide them with a supplemental income or a break because they find it to hard to bust their asses working everyday like everyone else. Those who think they deserve it or are owed it. These systems were set up for those who through no fault of their own fall on dire straights/hard times and need a temporary helping hand until they get back on their feet. I mean why as a taxpayer should I pay to heat someones home, pay their rent, feed their children when they are as capable and have as many opportunities as I? THINK- If you are going to have unprotected sex and you have no education/no income, there is a possibility that you may become pregnant. This means you need the means to raise YOUR child or children. It shouldn't mean because you've been irresponsible others should have to pay a price. I'm not talking about mistakes, horrible situations like rape, ect. I'm talking about those who are simply and intentionally irresponsible.THINK-and when you milk the systems-working/supplementing your income with unemployment/welfare while making a decent living, thats stealing and it affects all of us and isn't fair to those who are truly in need. No one is owed a living! Why do some search for a free pet then when they get it think it isn't their responsibilty to spay and neuter it, allow it to roam freely and populate irresponsibilty. Adding to the already exploding pet population. In the USA alone more than 8 million strays come into shelters yearly. More then half of them are euthanized simply because there is no place for them-WHY? Owning a pet is not a right it's a privilge so when you get one take care of it! For it's life! Why do some feel it's their neighbours, teachers, everyone elses responsibilty but their own to rear and raise their children. Yes parenting is hard but it's your job! Help is available but the responsibilty lies with you to make sure your child is happy, healthy, well behaved, educated and provided with food and shelter. Why are some not bothering to recycle and compost. This I will never understand. It angers me even more when those with kids neglect doing this as they should have a more vested interest in the health of the planet. They have someone to leave it to! Yes life is busy but it only takes a minute to separate food waste, plastics, glass, papers. Come on!! Why do some who suck on cigarettes, eat bad food, drink excessivley-just live an unhealhty lifestyle think it's not their fault they became sick. In Canada we are lucky your hospital visit or doctor visit will not directly come out of your pocket but our system is strained so why not do our part to make sure we don't needlessly burden it. We all make mistakes from time to time and possibly may need help too. But to have the attitude that you don't care because you are or have been irresponsible I just don't understand. I mean WHY?
