  1. I don't imagine there's much action going on down there after the sweep they did. Announcement was in the paper, including names.
  2. I know there were plenty of scammers on BP and probably more than a little human trafficking, but I know in the Cape Breton area, it was used by some part-time workers that used it to make ends meet when they ran short at the end of the month. It used to be pretty prevalent that ads would show up from the same girls within the last week of the month and then those ads would be gone right after the month started. I feel bad for those girls, because they probably won't know about it until they go to post an ad and then they'll have to scramble to find another site that suits their needs. Hopefully they'll have heard of Lyla.com in time to post something here, but some of them aren't looking to enter the industry full-time. I'd encourage anyone that knows an SP that worked out of Backpage to reach out to them and let them know the situation, if you can reach them. They might be in need of help.
  3. Having recently been priviledged to be able to do a shoot for Ms Manda, I agree with all the good things that have been said. She's a gorgeous woman with a sweet personality to go along with it. I can't say enough good things about her. She has a dazzling smile, beautiful body and a welcoming disposition.
  4. Incall is illegal from my understanding. Canadian law considers that maintaining a permanant residence for the purpose of prostitution. Outcall is perfectly legal. Communicating in public about arranging a meet is not legal (I believe) including talking in a car so streetwalkers are an illegal practice. On the same subject the "car-dates" that sometimes get advertised on BP or CL are illegal for those same reasons and for the public indecency charge that goes along with them. Canadian law is difficult to navigate on this subject because the laws are outdated and filled with grey areas, loopholes and as a result they're a minefield for the unwary. My advice on the whole matter to a new hobbiest would be to stay here and pick from the CERB ladies. The women (and men) here are serious about the business, enjoy what they do, are FAR less likely to have drug, disease or drama complications and will definitely leave you feeling happy, satisfied and fulfilled. Other sources of hobbying might not have quite the track record for positivity that you can find here.
  5. I agree totally, especially about the incall location. I accepted an appointment at an SP's incall location once and I tend to avoid doing that overall. Aside from the problems people have reported, like getting robbed when they show up, it also puts the SP on that legally shaky ground of being accused of opperating a bawdy house. I prefer to host even if I pay a higher premium. It not only protects me, but it protects the SP too and as a responsible hobbiest, I feel it's the least I can do for the ladies I see.
  6. Anyone have any info on the SP that advertises as pregnant on CL?
  7. These kinds of people give the community a bad name and it's truly a shame because only a tiny percentage of people would stoop to exploiting a child like that. In my opinion, it's good news for us that they were caught. Similar to the way our community warns the other members about encounters that were uncomfortable or unsafe, this weeds those undesirables out of the system. This is the kind of event that the media uses to attack the comunity as a whole and we have them to thank for it. I'd suggest we all be cautious about our activities in the near future, asking for established references and only seeing providers who have been around for a while, lest law enforcement decide to expand the scope of their investigation, as they are prone to do when they get publicity for doing something right. Keep your heads straight, take care of each other and we'll all be okay. 99.98217% of us in the community do nothing wrong. It's the other 0.01783% that we have to worry about. (Statistics approximated and may be accurate to +-50%) ;)
  8. While I'm not a pro, I've got several years experience doing shoots for friends that vary from fetish to portrait to nudes. I don't visit Hali often, but I'd be willing to do a shoot for you the next time I'm up. I did a few for Penelope Davis when I had the pleasure of meeting her. As far as payment goes, I'd consider your feedback payment enough. I've been wondering if there was enough interest and business in NS for me to consider turning pro and catering to the ladies on here when they need new shots. I have someone that can touch up shots that need polishing, but that would be something extra since I do need to pay them for their time (Photoshop is one of the grand mysteries of the Universe to me). Alternatively, if you're ever visiting Cape Breton, just shoot me a message and I can be at your disposal to update your portfolio any time. Like I said, I'm interested in finding out how much interest there is and whether it's a viable business to go into right now, so a little time spent at the end of the shoot to review the photos and discuss the results is a golden opportunity to me.
  9. I've had some experience with Foxy's which I think is the same folks. All my experiences were good.
  10. Care to PM about the amateurs you know? I keep hearing rumors about SPs around here that don't advertise and any info you can give would be appreciated.
  11. Hell, if you know someone in the area who's worth discussing, throw the name out on the thread. I'm sure that anyone you know that makes Cape Breton their home base would be thrilled with the referal.
  12. If you're selling prints to artistically appreciative buyers, then you need the rights to the photos which means model releases and generally some form of payment. If they're for your own private use, nothing needs to be signed. Also for the type of subject matter, it would be risky to do so without proof of the model's age on file. Asking SPs to give out that kind of info is something most SPs will (and should) draw the line at. Not accusing you of any wrongdoing or ulterier motives. Just saying that the ladies generally like to keep a strong divide between their work and life and part of that is safeguarding their private identities.
  13. I'm very pleased to see all the positive feedback here on Emily. I spoke out on the other thread about her CL woes and the question about her age and was afraid that might have given her a black eye to the community here. I know that the next time I'm in the city, I'll be looking her up.
  14. She's had an ad on SEA for a while with those exact pics. Maybe that's where you saw them.
  15. I think that closes the door on the subject of whether she's legit or not. We've had two separate people verify that she's at least 18. That's the important thing. As for all the talk about it being too young, then really, don't make an appointment with her. Some hobbiests prefer younger SPs, some don't. Just don't look down on the ones that do and tell them to "clean up their act" as someone put it. We all came to this community for acceptance and support, not for more judgement. People on both sides of this hobby get enough of that elsewhere. Personally, now that two different CERB members have verified that she's legal age, I'd have no hesitation to make an appointment with het and I hope she does become part of our community.
  16. This is a topic that could probably stand to see a little more publicity and I for one am glad to take part. Avoiding exploitation is tough. By the very nature of the business, we don't get the chance to know each other on a deeper level in the scope of an appointment. Hobbiests that make a habit of seeing a specific SP as a regular may want to point out that they know their SP friends a lot more than some of their other friends and that's true, but cold-calling an SP for the first time, there's nothing to go on except an ad and the general "vibe" you get on the phone when you call. Having said that, I've developed a set of rules that help me stay comfortable with my choices. When I book an appointment, I avoid ads in papers. That may sound like common sense or it may sound silly to some people, but by now we're all aware of CERB and SEA and similar sites. I had one experience with an ad from a paper and it turned out to be an ad placed by someone that had been thrown off SEA three or four times under different logins for scamming. Sad fact is that advertising in the business personals is cheap, easy and the paper doesn't care if you're posting an ad for a bait-n-switch scam, so they take the money and post the ad. Just as these ads are home to people looking to scam money, they're also homes for some places that don't want to leave too much of a trail if they have to cut and run in a hurry. Post an ad with a fake name, pay in cash and leave a burn phone as the contact and if an investigation starts into human trafficing, it leads nowhere. An account on a website can be traced by IP back to the modem issued by the internet provider and can even identify the computer that filled it out with a court order. For that reason alone, I feel more comfortable booking an appointment through an ad I found on a site like this. Additionally, I look at the community standing of the SP I'm booking with. Recomendations and their posts within the community count for a lot. There are some sites out there that are filled with shill reviews posted by the girls to pad their resume so that can be misleading too, but thankfully Cerb is one of the sites that a review can be trusted. I also look for the demeanor of the provider when I call. If they seem nervous or upset, then I'm more likely to end the call without making an appointment. On the other hand, if they seem really in command of themselves overall, I'd feel a lot more comfortable with them. For example, I was trying to book an appointment with an SP in Halifax about 6 months ago and and things seemed kind of borderline. She was hesitant, but we made the appointment. About ten minutes later, she called me back and said that she didn't feel up to it that night because it had been a long day and asked if we could reschedule. Sadly it was my last night in town and I told her so, but her callback and the explanation that she gave me left me feeling comfortable that she was in charge of her appointments and the next time I'm in town, Bobbie's the first SP I'm gonna call as a result. Unfortunately, we can really only count on each other to come forward when we feel like we've encountered a situation like this. I would be horrified to find out I'd booked an appointment with an SP in that kind of situation, but I think this is the first place I'd turn for advice on how to handle it and what, if anything, I could do to help stop it from continuing.
  17. There's really not a lot of choice around Sydney. Most of the girls that pop up around here are either on their way up in the business and once they make the money to set themselves up somewhere nicer/cleaner/bigger/busier, they're off to bigger and better things or they're trying to make ends meet in the short term. Sydney and the area is just too close a community for the most part. Everyone knows everyone's business and they make a point of disapproving. That makes it hard for SPs to work since so many people take it upon themselves to be judgemental. Hell, there was years when Sydney didn't have a sex shop due to the outcry of morally outraged residents and we still don't have a strip club due to morality by-laws even though most of the people that wanted those laws are dead from extreme old age at this point. I can't imagine our quaint little town would be much more accepting of SPs than they've been over shops. When I get the urge to see an SP, I usually make it part of a trip to Halifax. I treat it like it's Vegas Scotia. The other problem around here is money. There's a fair number of people out of work, but there's also a much larger part of the population that have jobs that hover just above minimum wage. With that being the case, even the people who are interested in a quality SP, don't have the resources to keep her working to the extent that she can get elsewhere. Hopefully between the Lower Churchill Falls power generation deal that's still pending and the shipbuilding contract in Halifax, there'll be a lot more jobs created over the next 3 years that will change that, but right now, it's pretty bleak for convincing an SP to call Sydney home.
  18. Yeah, there's not much available in Sydney. Fortunately some of the SPs on here make occasional visits so keep an eye out and you may strike gold. Most of the time when I want to meet an SP, it means a trip to Halifax.
  19. There's also the possibility that they could be referring to something else when they state there's "nothing fake" about them. Some SPs have breast augmentation done. Could be a declaration that they're all natural so to speak.
  20. I didn't go into more detail because the rules here are to issue no public comment that is not positive. My experience with her did not meet my expectations, whether that's a matter of taste or circumstance. As for where you can find her, she does have an ad on SEA.
  21. I really hope for the best for you Angel. I don't feel like you have anything to apologize for in trying to get yourself well and I for one will welcome you back withoout reservations. You're gifted with a touching sincerity and a giving nature that enriches the lives you touch. Getting the help you need is something more people should have the courage to do and for doing it, I'm proud to know you and from the length of this thread, I'm not the only one. As a whole, the community is here to support you. We care, we worry, we hope for the best for you as a person and we miss you. Take care, fly free and worry not. There'll be hugs and pride from all your friends when you come back to us.
  22. Well, it's with a heavy heart that I bid goodbye to Angel. Her trip was brief, but she's promised to be back. Any of the local boys (or girls) that didn't get to see her this time, I feel just a little sorry that you missed out and urge you to book early and often when she comes back.
  23. Wow. Just wow. I've been crushing on Angel's photos for a while, but it's not often I get out of town these days. When I found out she was gonna be around, I jumped at the chance to see her. I was a bundle of nerves and anticipation when I arrived. After all, her pictures are stunning. I can say now that the pictures don't do her justice at all. She's amazing. Quick to smile, quick to laugh, made me feel completely at ease. She was kind and welcoming and warm. She was hot and spicy and wild. I'm a guy with a witty turn of phrase for just about anything and she just blew my mind. I can't say enough good things about the time we spent. I won't go into detail except to say that every recommendation listed here barely scratches the surface. I will definitely see her again and hopefully my camera will too. She was kind enough to let me bring it along and she may even post a few of them here. Of course a few would violate the CERB rules, so you'll just have to meet "Lulu" in person. ;)
