Suggestions for a phone

I have an Otterbox case for my Blackberry 9900 and I've occasionally dropped it several feet onto a hard floor and it has come through without any damage ... the cases are expensive, but well worth it -
well now that it has happened ... I am sure the owners and players will be just fine unfortunately a lot of regular folks will not be okay ... those that work for the league and the teams or for the restaurants and bars that depend on the fan traffic

wander down to your local junior team, or if you are lucky, your nearest minor league team those young (and some not so young) players try a lot harder than most of the pros (too many of whom don't seem to really turn it on until the payoffs start)

Your favorite pet-and why
baileydog replied to CristyCurves's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
a dog definately ... currently a female west highland white terrier I don't understand why anyone would want a cat, unless of course, you miss being ignored by someone or something a dog has an owner ... a cat has staff -
I agree on the "Misfits" ... Even though my DVDs came from China and had an incomprehensible cover The only way I ever watched "24" was all at once, over a lost weekend I heartily reccommend "Father of the Pride" ... Sadly a short lived animated series set in Vegas following the animals in the Siegfried & Roy show ... I especially like a show that brings protests from the Parent's Television Council

I've spent many an hour or day playing RISK but ... I loved AWFUL GREEN THINGS FROM OUTER SPACE http://www.sjgames.com/awfulgreen/ it came out in 1980 ... the more "mind altered" you were, the more fun it was -
This sure sucks ... Sitting in a hospital waiting room and reading he March issue of Men's Journal and finding an article linking the dramatic rise in throat cancer in men to performing oral sex on women who have been exposed to HPV ... And USA statistics say 80% of women have been exposed to HPV by the time they are 50 (and some researchers think the number is higher) http://www.mensjournal.com/magazine/can-oral-sex-cause-cancer-20120809 ... And another thing that sucks is accidentially putting a bouncing emoticon where you did not mean to ... Frustrating mobile devices !!

What makes you happy, brings a smile
baileydog replied to CristyCurves's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
... this makes me smile ------ from today's moment in time (Globe and Mail) August 17, 1957 Sometimes the trivial turns transcendent, in a moment so improbable that it endures as a metaphor for the vagaries of life. Take what happened 55 years ago at Connie Mack Stadium in Philadelphia. The perp was the Phillie's Richie Ashburn, a future Hall of Famer who slashed a foul into the stands that hit a fan, one Alice Roth, smack in the face, bloodying and busting her nose. Play was halted as medics worked on her (and her eight-year-old grandson, trying to fetch the offending ball, was told by the man who'd nabbed it, "Go to hell, kid"), then resumed as she was laid on a stretcher. On the next pitch, Ashburn slammed another foul - cracking roth on the knee as she was carried out. What are the odds? Ashburn visited Roth in hospital and they became friends, forever connected by the cruel whims of the baseball gods. ----- ... on the other hand, one thing that does not make me smile is the news out of Russian this morning that Pussy Riot has be found guilty and the state prosecutors are asking for a 3-year sentence ... it is hard in imagine the old Soviet Union being any worse -

just watched "Marilyn vs Marilyn" ... an amazing documentary of Marilyn Monroe A look at the more serious side of Marilyn Monroe through the little known relationship between Monroe and photographer Milton Greene, featuring images of Monroe from the Greene archives unpublished before 2002. http://ww3.tvo.org/video/176972/marilyn-vs-marilyn

Come on fellow gentlemen ... Everything reminds us of sex ... It would be a very short list if we tried to think of the things that do not remind us of sex

Alright ... As someone who started cheering for the Leafs in grade 5 in 1963 and remembers when they won championships, I am, or at least feel, obligated to hate the Ottawa Senators ... But, under the influence of a certain Ottawa lady who is a big fan, I have set aside my petty differences and am cheering for the Sens ... Even to the point of arguing with a fellow Leafs fan during last night's game ... And, I'll be travelling to Ottawa a day early for this week's business trip so that I can attend the game tomorrow night - and I'll be wearing a Sens jersey lol GO SENS GO !!!

this story, picked up in the current Maclean's, make me shake my head over US gun laws and makes me happy I got back from my golf vacation without any extra holes ... imagine being arrested for carrying a knife but getting a pass for carrying a gun !!! APRIL 03, 2012 Sue Carlton column: Gun laws run amok in Florida With the world watching Florida, and not for a good reason, here's our state's take on guns in a nutshell: In Florida, someone can pursue someone else, start a confrontation, shoot the person dead and still go free, as long as he was afraid for himself when he pulled the trigger. This has happened more than once under our now infamous "stand your ground'' law that says you don't have to look for an option before using deadly force, a recent Times investigation revealed. And it's happened even though the very politicians who pushed this law say it shouldn't apply when the shooter pursued. There's more. The city of Tampa can come up with rules for banning weapons including knives, metal pipes and even squirt guns from around the politically-charged Republican National Convention when thousands come here for the event in August. But when it comes to guns, state law trumps local sense. Got a permit, come on down. This is Florida, after all, land of 900,000 licensed concealed weapons carriers, nearly twice what even Texas boasts.

One of the funniest stories I ever heard was when a friend described his father doing this to his younger brother, and having the drill catch on the nail, the little kid panic, and the drill pull the finger up tight to the chuck, having gone all the way through ... Funny when it happens to someone else

Staying in a hotel in Virginia Beach that was great last year, but is under construction/renovation this year ... And just walking down 10 flights of stairs only to find out that the fire alarm was a test ... Could not they have used the PA system to warn us first ... And my just poured beer was getting warm by the time I got back to it :(
