CERB'S State of the Union - As I see it.
baileydog replied to Old Dog's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Old Dog ... very well said, and it needed to be said ... as a newcomer (late June) I found this board to be very helpful and interesting in July and most of August, but lately I've found very little reason to spend more than a minute or two on it ... I do hope it gets back to what it was -
Congrats Malika on 1500 posts and counting

all the best ... congratulations on the post milestone ... you have a way of contruting - sometimes humorously, sometimes "deep" into the context of the tread, sometimes "direct" when people need it - always interesting to read ... keep them coming ... smiles, hugs and kisses ... John -
it is the simple things that start a day off right ... waking up refreshed (admitted thanks to zopiclone) ... the sun shining ... working from home instead of the office ... having your 8 am review call with your boss go well ... having it be mid morning and there are still no fires that need to be put out - expanding the probability of being able to make an early exit for the cottage

I'm old enough to remember when drunk driving might only get you a warning if you hadn't hit anything yet ... thankfully, sometimes, things do change for the better but, putting someone in prison for a long sentence has been proven around the world to not act as a deterrent recently the Conservatives changed the law to eliminate this type of charge from being eligible for a conditional sentence ... which in my view, is the type of sentence that would be more effective in a case like Jack Tobin`s What is a conditional sentence? When a court finds a person guilty of a crime, the person may be sentenced to time in prison or, in certain circumstances, may be allowed to serve the sentence in the community. This is called a conditional sentence. During a conditional sentence, the offender is supervised and must follow the rules set by the judge or risk going to prison.

catching an early flight out of PET (not that I really wanted to leave Montreal - but it is always nice to fly home) and then being able to work from my home office with no one bothering me

Credits Cards ???
baileydog replied to JessicaMassage's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
two discussions going on in parallel http://www.cerb.ca/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=62758 I have seen SP adverts that mention credit card payments ... they mention GST/HST charges so I assume they are running the payments through a business account (of some sort)- 16 replies

a little while ago, in the "Would you or wouldn't you? Game" thread, I asked "would you ever (or have you ever) discussed your involvement in this community with your adult children - - - really a question for the guys" the next relpy was "I have not but I am trying to decide the best way to do that." (by mrrnice2) so, the question, gentlemen ... is have you, would you, did you ... what advice/experience can you share with the rest of us???

Words you say/use a lot
baileydog replied to Isabella Gia (Banned)'s topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
these are good words ... I wish I could remember them without the help of wikiquote Annie Savoy: What do you believe in, then? Crash Davis: Well, I believe in the soul. The cock, the pussy, the small of a woman's back, the hanging curve ball, high fiber, good scotch, that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent, overrated crap. I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days. [pause] Goodnight. -

finally, Angela, someone mentioned Lassie I am verging on moving into the you know when you are old thread, but most of the shows mentioned were on when I was in high school or university (the big 58 is coming up in 11 days) WIT came close with Thunderbirds ... but for me it was the predecessor, Fireball XL5 ... I used to build and re-build the rocket ship with my erector set (yes, not a meccano set, their earlier long gone competitor) ... and back to Lassie ... my father (still alive thankfully) says I used to cry during lassie :( -
yes, receive would you go down on a lady in a theatre? I think we missed the personal hygiene question ... I would ... I would trade a month of limited social contact for one million dollars
