This entire week has been a pre-Christmas suckathon! Monday I had an ingrown toenail removed, and by the way it is still throbbing, it might be infected. After leaving doc's office, I hobbled around gift shopping for 3 or 4 hours. (Shopping sucks even when not in pain )On the drive home, an inconsiderate deer hit the front of my recently acquired car. Today I received the body shop estimate:$5000+. Deductible is only $200, but still sucks azz. :(

Coc. oil is good for cooking, smoothies, and on peanut butter sammiches. It makes a nice change from margarine on toast. Been using for quite awhile on a facial scar and on freckle/age spot on hand: it seems to fade them a bit. My hilite is remembering how several years ago, I stood in line at at the mall in Massena for almost 3 hours to get Gordie Howe's autograph. Had to buy his crappy book to get handshake and signature! It was worth it though, to meet a childhood hero. RIP Gord :(

Recently read whodunit "In the Bleak Midwinter" by Julia Spencer-Fleming, alternative history "The Guns of the South" by Harry Turtledove, and recommend both. I have just started "1775" by historian and poli-sci guy Kevin Phillips.

My g p tried to put me on statin drugs for years, but I refused them. They are so liver toxic, yuck. I have eaten oatmeal every day by itself or in other recipes because it's beneficial. The doc said I am maintaining at acceptable cholesterol levels.
