Inspired by a recent picture of Paz Vega by Touch in the Beautiful Lingerie thread, I was trolling images of Paz and came across these. What stood out for me was her smile ... and I thought "we should have a thread for this!" So here it is. If you find a pic showing a smile that makes you swoon, or that just brings a smile to your own face, post it here!

The general public is pretty poor at interpreting statistics. Be careful of drawing conclusions such as the one Butterman referred to above. If you measure STI's amongst sex workers and compare them to the general population, it may be that the rate is lower because those with STI's drop out of the business. The population has thus been reduced to include mainly those without STI's. To be able to make the above conclusion, one needs to look at current sex workers and former sex workers, and compare to the general population. Once you throw in former workers, then you have to correct for time and other facts, and it gets messy. Awhile back I read "Freakonomics". It was pretty interesting, so I started picking up other similar books. One was "More Sex Is Safer Sex" by economist Steven Landsburg. Chapter 1 is a very interesting read for anyone who touts the virtue of abstinence. Consider: [--]If everyone abstained from sex, there would be an end to sexually transmitted diseases. [--]Unfortunately, the human race would also come to an end -- unless of course we move completely to in vitro fertilization. [--]Therefore, it is likely that there will always be people having sex. [--]Those who abstain, or are monogamous, are essentially limiting the opportunities of those who are not. [--]Therefore those who are not have a smaller pool of people with whom to have sex. [--]The consequence of this, therefore, is that once a disease enters that small population the risk of contracting it becomes higher. [--]If more people had sex with multiple partners, then the field of choices would be greater and the risk of contracting a disease actually LOWER. Now, this may seem counter-intuitive to most people, but it's apparently sound economic thinking. I'm not an economist. And it's not my theory. So don't flame me for it. If you want to understand it, read Landsburg's book. It's interesting, funny, and makes you go "ummm ... say what?" Besides ... more sex is not only safer sex ... it's way more fun!

Now, I'm not entirely sure what this product does. It appears to be an electrical adaptor of some sort. What caught my eye was the words China is National Compulsory Sex Product Attestation What does this mean? Is this company attesting to the fact that China has some kind of national policy for compulsory sex? Or that requires companies to make products for sex? The possibe explanations are mind boggling!

A big height differential can make for an uncomfortable first encounter. That hug or kiss just after you walk through the door can feel pretty strange if you have to stand on your tippy-toes! There was a lady I used to see who was 5' 10" to my not quite 5' 8". With 4" heels i couldn't even make eye contact. Now, before I meet someone for the first time, I usually send them a message and include my physical characteristics. Most ladies are astute enough to realize, if they are tall, that it might be better to greet me in flats or barefoot. A big differential makes some positions difficult or awkward ... but it can also open up other possibilities. You just have to be creative. I've noticed too that sometimes it's not the overall height difference that matters, it's the torso/leg ratio. If the torsos are the same height, then 69 is not a problem. If the lady has very long legs, then standing positions can be a challenge. But then, that's what couches, ottomans and cushions are for, right?

What a great event! My wife and I had a wonderful time meeting members of the community. As I fully expected, our members were as interesting, intelligent and personable in the flesh as they are in this forum. Many thanks to Angela, for organizing the event and for ensuring that, as the first couple to attend one of these, we felt welcome. We can only hope our presence as a hobbiest-couple didn't make anyone feel uncomfortable. As the sole female hobbiest in the room she did feel like a fish out of the water. Thankfully, as the unicorn in room, it seemed to get her lots of attention from both providers and hobbiests? (Yes, female hobbiest are real ... you now have tangible proof!) Some members wondered whether this profile, northerntantra, is shared by both of us. It is not. My wife is new to the hobby and doesn't have her own profile on cerb -- though many urged her to do so last night, and she's considering that! No, this profile is mine alone, as are the thoughts I express though it. After last night's conversations I'm looking forward to adding some new people to my circle of friends here. And my wife and I are really looking forward to the next social. It can't come soon enough!

Belated Happy Birthday! Hope it was a good one! -
As Nathalie suggested, Charlotte Sinclair specializes in couples. She'll be in Ottawa this week (Sep 11-13 as I recall). My wife and I had a dinner date (followed by play time!) with her in in Montreal this summer. It was a great experience for both of us, and Charlotte's web site offers plenty of good advice to help prepare you for a first time experience. I'm glad to hear your wife is involved at the outset. I believe Charlotte won't even book a couple until she's talked to the wife first -- and I think that's a sensible policy. It is really important that the ladies hit it off. As for other couples SP's that may be in Ottawa, we're still looking around. We're attending the Social this Thursday so we can meet some of the ladies and see if there's any chemistry. I guess you could say we are "prospecting"! Hope you find someone and have a great visit! P.S. Check out the social group "Threesomes". The SP's who are members of that group Are likely "couple-friendly".

The countdown is ON! I'll be attending the social next week, and looking forward to meeting my fellow cerb'ites. Incidentally, my wife will be attending too. I mention this so you'll be aware that there will be some ladies who are hobbiests amongst the crowd. So ladies and gentlemen, be careful not to assume that the lady you are talking to is a provider. She just may be a hobbiest. My wife assures me that if a mistake is made, she won't take offense. Indeed, she'll more likely be flattered! See you all there!

Happy Birthday Touch!

Hope you had a great day, Touch! -
Back in mid-July I started a thread that pretty much covers this topic, in the area "New to this? Things you should know". It's called "Questions/subjects to avoid initiating with an SP." Here's the link. ... http://www.cerb.ca/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=97946 Check out the second posting, from Cat. It won the Topic of the Fortnight for July 28 and is both informative and funny. Rather than repeat a lot of the same comments, members may wish to catch up with the thread noted above and, if they have new thoughts to add, contribute them there.

Many, probably most, hobbiests do so without the knowledge of their significant other. Even those that are open about it may prefer not to make it obvious when they've seen someone. Consequently, lipstick, perfume, etc. all create risk for the hobbiest. He/she must be damned sure to remove all traces before leaving, or find an opportunity to do so before going home. For this reason, I suspect most hobbiests would prefer that you not wear lipstick, perfume, etc. Personally, my answer I guess depends on the situation. If a dinner date is involved, then of course I like to see the lady at her best. So would my wife if it were a couples encounter. If it's a one hour encounter during the day, then I'd probably prefer no makeup, or at least very subtle makeup. One needs to wash up anyways, just to deal with a lady's natural scent, so a light lip gloss isn't going to survive that anyways. For encounters where you know makeup won't be an issue for your client, the bottom line is to wear what works best to enhance your natural beauty. That's what it's for, after all. And usually less is more. Lighting, skin tone, the outfit you plan to wear etc. are all factors that contribute to a good choice for the lips. If you're going to wear black or black/red lingerie, then red is a great matching colour! But it should never be garish. Flavored lip gloss might be a neat surprise ... and it probably wears off quickly. The problem is you never know what another person may intensely dislike. Something you like might be met with an extreme reaction. Now, if you've had a dinner date and know your client likes margheritas, then he'll probably be ok with lime. Otherwise, you're on thin ice.

Back in late June I started the Beautiful Lingerie thread, and we've had lots of great postings since it began. I was combing though pics of Anahi Gonzales, a Peruvian model, to find lingerie that caught my eye when it occurred to me that there we lots of swimwear pics that deserved sharing -- but no thread for that! So, to correct this deficiency I'm starting this thread ... which will be focused on beautiful swimwear. Not just any old swimwear, but the kind that really catches your attention because of it's colors, pattern, design, whatever! I know we have some great researchers in cerb-land who sift through hundreds of pics every day to find outstanding bums, stockings, lingerie, fripples, etc. I'm guessing there are lots of times you come across great looking swimwear, but the pic isn't really worthy of our other categories. Here's a place to post those! I'll start us off with a few from the Anahi Gonzales collection: Oh, and to all our fabulous looking ladies out there ... if you have any personal pics of you in your favorite swimwear, feel free to share them with us!

Peruvian fashion model Anahi Gonzales: The first one is my favorite ... but then, those you who might remember than I'm a big fan of teal blue could probably have guessed that!

How did you decide on your CERB name
northerntantra replied to someguy's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
My handle consists of conjoining "northern" and "tantra". Northern because I live in what many Americans consider "the north". While cerb is a Canadian site, I had used a handle like this one before on a site that was U.S. based and since "tantra" was taken I added "northern" to create a unique I'd that was available. As for "tantra", there are many meanings and aspects to that word. I've studied various Asian arts over the years and at the time was researching Indian teachings about the spiritual aspects of love and sex. The term "tantra" has evolved, especially as it's been embraced by north americans, but the key idea I embraced is that there is a "sexual energy" that one can tap into, and a spiritual aspect to sex ... a transcendence that can happen when two (or more!) people merge physically. To some, this may sound like so much bullsh--t. But I think most in this community have experienced tantra and it's one of the things that probably drives you to be in this lifestyle, whether you're an SP, MP or a client. Why are so many of us (clients) repeat customers? Because we make a connection, and that connection is more than just the wonderful physical euphoria we may get from an orgasm. It's the entire experience. And based on conversations I've had with providers over the years, the same is true for many (maybe most) of them. Everyone loves finding a person they can truly connect with, and when they do the result is truly awesome and even "transcendent". So there you have it ... the full scoop on why I am "northerntantra"!
