I bought rollerskates, and I joined a rollerboogie group. They felt awesome! The ones I used to rent were from the 70s and hurt my feet. Getting a new pair that fit well feels great!

Guilty pleasure films
loopie replied to Cleo Catra's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I never really feel guilty about liking the movies I like. I love lots of movies that are cheesy and corny, but I don't really feel embarassed about liking them. I guess a lot of people make fun of me for liking/owning the DVD of 'Tank Girl'. But I shrug it off. It's probably the most 90s movie ever made. -

In a Swiss chalet. And by that I mean a chalet in the mountains in Switzerland, not the chicken restaurant. -
Why do men like Numbers/Measurements?

For some reason I always want to know a woman's height. I have no idea why I do this. When I think about it, it doesn't matter. I have never rejected a woman for being too tall or too short, but for some reason I always want to know this. -
I saw 'Mud' (the one where Matthew McConaughey plays a swamp hobo fugative) a few weeks ago and thought it was a well done film. If you like the type of straight-forward drama film they generally used to make a lot of in the 90s, such 'A Perfect World' or 'The Man Without a Face', then I would recommend this one.

I actually can't help myself. I frequently just blurt out compliments at strangers, but it's almost always about their style and so I think they usually just assume I'm gay and so they don't take it as a come-on.

There are lots of safe and growing sectors in today's economy, and within those sectors there is a wide variety of jobs. You really have to be honest with yourself about: -What are you good at? -What do you like doing? -How much do you want to work (in terms of hours in the day)? Do you work to live, or live to work? -What training and skills do you have? -What training and skills are you prepared to obtain? Once you figure out those things, you'll be able to think more specifically about sectors and jobs you want to research. As previously mentioned, there is a shortage in skilled labour across the country. People in the trades (plumbers, electricians etc) can make a good living. A lot of jobs are coming the demographic shift in our country. An aging population will require increased health care and retirement homes. I know a lot of people who have made a good living in buying franchises (such as Tim Horton's, Subway, Dairy Queen). I have gained a lot of second hand knowledge from my friends who have made their living running these businesses and if you want to know more, just ask. There are also a shortages in day cares for children in many parts of the country. If you're great with kids, this might be a business to consider.

Once Upon a Time in The West is my favourite western. I find The Quick & The Dead a good entertaining pulpy modern western. El Topo is the weirdest western you will ever see. The Good, The, Bad & The Weird is the best eastern western. It's got endless crazy stunts. My favourite Clint Eastwood one is For A Few Dollars More.

I am a man who has always looked younger than he is. This has generally never helped me out. In my career I have had to be more aggressive in order to achieve success because when people look at me they do not see experience or authority. They see this cute boy who doesn't need a promotion right now because he has "all the time in the world". In my personal life, it also makes dating somewhat difficult. I tend to attract women who are college age, but then I have trouble relating to them because we're just at different stages in our lives. Women my own age tend to feel they look old standing next to me, and no woman wants that. So my best hope would be to find a fellow babyface my own age.

I have no problem working with women, for women, or competing against them.

I am a man. It has been legal and acceptable for me to walk around the streets shirtless my whole life. Yet I have never felt the desire to do so.

DeCriminalization Thoughts

Canada is becoming more open-minded, but very slowly, and I think your average CERBite is probably about 100 years ahead, which can be frustrating. There will always be a gap between what is legal and what is socially encouraged/accepted. But gaining legal acceptance is a big step towards gaining social acceptance. -
I agree with Bridgette, Scandinavia can be quite expensive. $100 a day won't get you much. I would definately recommend Copenhagen though. It's an awesome party city right across the bridge from Malmo. There's lots to see if you like history and lots of partying to do. I had a great time there, but met very few Danes! It always seemed to be wealthy Russians who would fly in from St. Petersburg to party or other foreigners who worken in Copenhagen in international companies or NGOs etc. I realize Stockholm is east of Malmo and you said you were heading west, but it's actually my favourite city in the world. I was there for a few months last year. It wasn't the first or the last time I will go there. I just love it! If you ever get a chance to spend a few days there it is wonderful. As for Germany, my family is German and so I have spent a lot of time in Germany. You can definitely travel a little cheaper there than in Scandinavia, but German culture is very diverse and very regional. The way of life in the south (particularly Bavaria/Bayern) is very different from what you will see up north. My family is northern and so I speak German with an accent that is considered snobby in Germany and most northern Germans look down on the south like they are a bunch of hicks, but I love Bavarian culture and find it really cute! I find all that traditional folksy stuff really charming! I find Munich to be my favourite city in Germany. It has endless things to do and see and people are very warm and festive. If you have any more specific questions, I would be happy to help. I have travelled a lot in Europe and always enjoy talking about travelling and different cultures.

Hans Gruber in DIE HARD cracks me up. His poncey delivery is an absolute hoot. And I think we all wanted to shoot Ellis.
