And where would I buy a new one? Seriously... I'm lost with technology. I think I'm part Amish! Posted via Mobile Device

Well... I am probably THE most cursed person with computers... My HP laptop's hard drive decided to up and quit on me. :-( Does anyone know of a good place to get this fixed? Preferably downtown since I pass through a few times a day as I'm going hither and tither. Thanks! Posted via Mobile Device

I heard about this ad! I am not a footy fan, but I LOVE the ads they come up with for SuperBowl! -

Any suspicious behavior, IMO, should be reported. This is a safe community, and it's up to us to keep it that way!

Ah, that's where the thread went! Thanks! And now to go pretend like I'm not actually this hopeless with computers.... *whistling a lil diddy*

So... I suck with computers. Let's get that out in the open first and foremost, so please speak in very simple terms with me. I want to link back to Cerb on my website (hosted by Yola). I have tried copy and pasting the little green Cerb logo (which has worked in the past). The animation is there, but it's not an active link. Help? :-)

Happy birthday! (Sadly I don't have a photo of a delicious looking cake for you). Hope it's a great one! -
All good things must come to an end

Sometimes ya just gotta move on. I do it all the time - drift in and out of stuff. We'll be here if you come back, and if not, I'm sure you'll be off having a great time! Happy trails and may the wind always be at your back, and all those other cliches. ;-P -
This is how the police in Victoria, BC treated ladies: safety first. I'm glad to see that things are finally changing here, too, but so sad that it had to come to this to get people to realize it. Hopefully with the police being more protective and hopefully more approachable for workers who find themselves in sketchy situations, this will stave off further attacks. My heart goes out to the families and friends of these women.

@ livenudecats: HA HA HA!! Gotta love Monty Python! Though I like your version better than the original Spam version... ;-)

Question for the ladies and gents
Kate von Katz replied to April Dawn's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
In my experience, those who are exceedingly well endowed are often used to the reality that they are too much for most women. If you'd like to try, this is of course entirely your choice since you're the one risking vaginal damage in doing so. The best way to try is you on top so you can make sure that it is to your comfort level. The last thing you want to do is end up with a rupture, tear, or other painful and potentially dangerous problem. If he's too big, he's too big. I know it's not sexy to talk about vaginal ruptures, but reality isn't nearly as sexy as we all want it to be. Just use your judgement. You know your body and its limits better than anyone else. And again: most guys I have encountered that were too big for my comfort had already seen enough ladies to know that sex was rarely an option. They weren't offended at all when I politely refused. Futhermore, it's your body. Ultimately, it doesn't matter how big he is or how much he's paying you, he is not paying for your vagina and no one but you has any say what goes in there. Handle it politely, and rest assured, he probably already knows that his size makes things a challenge. -
I found this and just HAD to share it!

Johnny and Elvis were record mates, and loved to impersonate each other during concerts.

I figured it'd be fun to share some of our favorite awful "music". Mine is a piece of work by a guy by the name of The Legendary Stardust Cowboy. Bowie liked this guy's integrity so much, it's where he got the "Stardust" part of the name of his alter-ego, Ziggy Stardust. Check this out! And be warned: it's so awful it'll actually grow on you!

Any SP's play instruments?
Kate von Katz replied to barriei88's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Cello, but paying off a new one, so that's on hold. Also play djembe, clarinet, and a bit of piano. And will be picking up the fiddle in the next little while. -
Is It Me Or Is It Too Soon....
Kate von Katz replied to roamingguy's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I agree the winter holidays - particularly Christmas - have become very much a commercial affair. That being said, I do love eggnog! I personally endeavor to make hand-crafted gifts for my close friends and loved ones. Last year I made everyone a set of wood-burned coasters - the designs befitting each person's personality. And of course baked goods like truffles, toffee, brittle and cookies never go unwanted! With the Occupy Wall Street movement spreading like wildfire, I truly hope more people will revert back to more traditional gifts knitted, cooked, sewn or crafted rather than purchased in a big box store. Or at least buying handicrafts off of a craftan or artist. Though I do love Cochrane's eggnog.... they're local, so I can feel good about guzzling it down! :-) -

What should I minor in?
Kate von Katz replied to VedaSloan's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
A close friend has her masters in anthropology (I forget her minors, she's got a couple, though). It's a wider subject range, and will give you more opportunity down the road. Plus, it's freakin' awesome! -
Religious/Spiritual Views
Kate von Katz replied to Kate von Katz's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
As I said in my post, I am not looking to start a debate or anything. I simply am curious as to the range of beliefs that are represented in hobbying. If you want to have a debate on religion, do it elsewhere. Otherwise, yes your vote is anonymous and I'm not asking anyone to name themselves as such and such religion. That's an infringement on personal boundaries, in my opinion, and in poor taste, to boot. If you don't want to supply an answer, then don't. I fail to see what the big whoop is. -
Yes, I know this can be a loaded issue, but I'm not so much interested in starting a debate on the pros and cons of various religions/spiritual paths. I'm curious to see how wide a range there is on Cerb. So I do ask if you are commenting, please make it polite, do not attack or slander or talk ill of other faiths or creeds and respect everyone's right to freedom of belief (or non-belief). Also my apologies for the typo. It should say Judeo-Christian. Not Juedo-Christian.

I Love Starbucks

I worked at SBux. For one, they do more charity work than the smaller companies do. They just don't advertise it. They treat their farmers really well, and have spent millions setting up schools, medical facilities and other things in some of the more remote growing areas. Employees even have the chance to go visit the farmers. Secondly, they make yummy drinks! Caramel macchiato is a favorite, as it iced passionfruit tea. AND - many people don't know this - if you come up with a drink or a drink idea, send it to the company. If they like it, they'll test market it and if it makes it all the way the pay you generously. A lot of new drinks are invented by baristas. Though I have to say, actually working there - aside from the superior benefits - is much more stressful than any other coffee shop. My old SBux manager now works at Second Cup, for example. and she finds it like night and day. SBux is regimented and extremely strict. They are a little too generous with their write-ups. But the other coffee shops are less strict and allow their employees to be a bit more relaxed. But let's face it: all jobs pose challenges, and that's no reason to hate on SBux. I still go there for a drink or a chocolate chip cookie (get them to heat it up... I got dozens of our regulars addicted to heated up cookies! They're perfectly warm and gooey!). Oh and FYI, they will make coffee with a French press if you ask. They don't advertise it, but they do it. So if you like French pressed coffee as much as I do.... Don't get me started on Umi Cafe. That place is not at all what it appears to be. -
The impending ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE!
Kate von Katz replied to Old Dog's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I'm a bit of a berserker, and I'd be out there with a couple of machetes hacking and slashing with a small group. As for a hide-out? I'd opt for taking the time to build tree-houses. With a group of a dozen or so, we could get the basics done in a few days. To get them comfortable will take a few weeks, but eventually they'd be comfortable, roofed, with rope ladders that will allow us to sleep easy knowing the zombies can't get to us. Come winter we'll probably migrate to some local abandoned mines and hole up there. Then come back for some spring-time zombie slaughtering!
